They are lying about free shipping.

What a dirty little retailer. Attract customers with the sweet smell of free shipping, only to sneak it in at check out.

      • Tried to order 22B2HN, all appears good with free shipping, and $10 shipping fee sneaked in at checkout.

      • Looks like code only applies to QLD pickup

        • Have you tried others and get a shipping charge?

          • @Clear: At checkout, Q2790PQ was showing me $10 delivery to QLD or free pickup (QLD)

            • @semaj: Yeah they've changed it unfortunately.

Seems a deal, but i gonna keep waiting for any 4k144hz monitor once for all

    • +1

Might as well wait for 8K 240Hz monitor…

    Nice find Clear!

Was about to pull the trigger on the Q27G2S/D, refresh rate and motion performance does not look great :(

Yeah the old HUB review didn't paint it in the best light. Shame, this is in my budget, too.

Its items from Brisbane store only with code - AOC20OFF. Before adding item to cart, make sure it is at the Brisbane/Coopers Plains store.
They are closing down there Brisbane/Coopers Plains store, so there looking to clear stock. This promotion has been running for a few days already.

    • Given the page said free shipping it's an easy assumption to think they would be shipping from the QLD store. Evidently not.

  • Yes the front page of the web site in the carousel says that this coupon is for the Brisbane store end of lease clearance. It's a store closing down clearance sale coupon. So this coupon code most undoubtedly only works for C&C from the Brisbane store.

So this deal is obtainable only by those in and around Brisbane. Unless you want to travel maybe hundreds of kilometers just to pickup a monitor.

Looks like the monitors working yesterday for free shipping now charge $10. I'd say the free shipping working for everyone was a mistake they made that's not been fixed.

Still $10 is pretty good for a monitor. Heaps of sellers ship significantly smaller for a whole lot more.

Edit: actually i was wrong as the coupon code does work also for online delivery.

      • But using the code seems to result in a delivery charge?

        • +1

Yes there is a charge. No free delivery with this. But still the charge was cheap for shipping a pc monitor.

Thanks, bought the AOC 24G2SP 23.8" IPS 165Hz. Been looking for a 144Hz+ monitor. Free postage would have been great but even without it, $177 seems like a reasonable price.

  • This seems to be sold out. I guess they succeeded in clearing out the stock for this one.

  • For most people I would recommend a 27 inch IPS QHD monitor (1440p). It has enough screen space for most tasks. With 4k you need an expensive GPU for gaming, plus have to worry about DPI scaling (which reduces screen real estate but makes fonts more readable).

    • 4k is actually pretty good for cheaper systems. Just run games at 1080p and it will scale perfectly.

      • It’ll actually look pretty bad compared to running the game on a native 1080p monitor. I know because I tried to run games at 1440p on a 4K monitor. Pc couldn’t handle 4K gaming so I ending up getting a 1440p monitor.

        • +1

The advantage for 1080p here is that a set of 4 pixels just displays the same colour whereas the scaling to 1440p will have some aliasing

        • Think for a moment how resolution scaling works on a monitor. Keep your comment up if you still think you're correct.

          • @oshkoshjosh4: I just tried, I have a 4k monitor as my second screen. Ran Starfield at 1080p and the visuals looks jittery with a lot of jagged lines. The game overall looks very soft. Ran it at 4k, FPS dropped heavily but the game looks much better visually. So i think i do standby my original comment. 1080p will look better on a native 1080p monitor than running on a 4k monitor.

i agree that 1440p running on a 4k monitor will look much worse due to resolution scaling.

  • Obviously didn't read the item post correctly (seems to be one of your habits) and had to correct the free shipping quote. Just get it right.

    • My post above got buried with negs for pointing out the incorrect free shipping claim.

Starting to think this guy has multiple accounts, promotes chinese products and censors anyone who dares post criticism.

      • -1

The product pages themselves say free shipping. so it's an easy mistake to make. I've updated the title and description to reflect that. The title can't get any clearer, so for the description I've changed the edit to be a #heading to make it more clear. Or is there a better way?

        promotes chinese products

What's wrong with Chinese products? There's a lot of demand for them and you'd be shocked to know that the main demographic of OzBargain is Chinese-Australian.

Starting to think this guy has multiple accounts

censors anyone who dares post criticism.

Nope only 1 account so that means I can only neg someone once. Had you just said that the shipping isn't free and not neg the deal you wouldn't have been downvoted to shit and we wouldn't be having this conversation. Neg votes in general tend to get downvoted a lot around here.

You're welcome to Talk with a Moderator and express you're concerns. They'll be able to tell you if I have multiple accounts or not.

    • Obviously didn't read the item post correctly (seems to be one of your habits)

Oh we're doing this again? Reading the wrong specs when it's been proven countless times it's capable of multiple levels of brightness. Then again you're unable to admit your wrong and just project to everyone instead.

and had to correct the free shipping quote. Just get it right.

You should direct that to PC Byte who still advertise free shipping

      • -1

Post clearly doesn’t say free shipping as you stated in your post. Just get one thing right will you and stop having a crack at others that do.

  • Thanks OP. I got the 31" which looks to be great value. I like 1440p for gaming because it still looks great and you don't need GPUs costing over 1k to get consistent high frames in AAA games.

  • Any good reviews of AOC CQ27G3S? Honestly not overkeen on that much curve though…

  • I tried to buy two AOC 24G2SP but the invoice only showed one. I emailed PcByte to cancel the order but they still end up shipping it. I tried calling them and never goes through. Is there a rep here who is willing to help?
