  • Hi unrelated but I also see on the roads other cars using Yakima racks. Anyone has any feedback between these two brands? Thank you

      Reported as off topic

    • Yakima, Thule, Rola, etc are all fine.

Just make sure you get the same accessory adaptors (sort of like an ecosystem, eg google or alexa or apple), so that all your pins/adaptors/mounts are compatible, eg t slot channels

  • Is Rola roof racks comparable in quality to Thule and Yakima ?

    • All much of a muchness.none of those are cheap and you are getting decent quality. Oh, might as well throw rhinorack in there too. I had rola racks years ago and they were good kit. Currently running rhino and Thule on different cars. Only bought different because of a sale at the time. Still have the rola ski racks and they fit both brands.

Don’t see more than 20% too often.

I would also check with the car dealers, for some car brands they have the same thing (rebranded) for less (amazing but true). Eg Santa Fe rola 20% off $513, Hyundai dealer $449.

  • not cheap at all..

  • Pretty crazy prices on some of the bike racks too eg https://rola.com.au/fx-tilting-bike-carrier--4-bikes/19557-7…
They look like basic ones but for $25 + $10 delivery it seems like they're worth a shot.

    • I'm assuming this is the same one: https://roofrack.com.au/product/rola-fxt4-4-bike-tilt-towbal…
If so, please note: • Carry capacity of 45kg
4 bikes will get you close or over this limit pretty quickly

Yeah reviews say that it's difficult to fit all 4 bikes on, and reviews for the 2-3 bike models say the same for the respective number of bikes
I bought the 4 bike version and intend to carry 2 max
