shopback sent out an email the other day that was supposed to only go to new customers claiming they could get $2 bonus cashback with a $2 spend on amazon gift cards.
being the (apparently) honourable people they (sometimes) are, they've decided to open this promotion up to everyone.

seems to be targeted - the deal may be only available to those on the shopback mailing list - check your emails!

capped at 7500 redemptions (still >500 left as of the 13th at 1pm aest, thanks @trixieb)

    I saw that first email, didn't think anything of it since it clearly stated it was for new customers only. I'm kind of surprised they bothered doing this.

    The backhanded comments in the description are a little unnecessary, did you have a bad experience with them lately?

      i haven't personally, but shopback posts on here as of late have attracted a slew of negative comments from people who have had poor experiences. exhibit a, b, c

      of course, these things not tracking may be down to the retailers (especially bws) or user error, but shopback being apparently very slow to reply to support requests is concerning. that is, of course, until people complain on this public forum in front of the sb reps and everyone else.

      I got the email but nothing under earn more. If I click the link in the email it just opens the shopback app to the main screen.

        Unlike CR, "start the challenge" won't secure the spot. Imagine OOS when you are filling in your details. That happened to my previous $2. I just made a ticket and see if they will manually add it. Took a few minutes for Q&A with the chatbot lol

    Received the original deal email and am on the mailing list. Just tried to access the deal now that it’s apparently open to everyone who received the original email, and when I go to purchase it states “This deal isn’t available to you…” 🤷

      I found the same thing – it appears the original deal remains restricted to first time buyers. If you received a new email today, click the new link within to opt into the challenge.

      Yes, that’s what I did and the $2 bonus has been confirmed. More than 3800 bonuses have been claimed when I received my confirmation.

      if you're on the shopback mailing list you should receive an email about this promo. if you unsubscribed from their emails, you won't, hence targeted.

    I got the original email but it clearly said it was just for those who have never purchased a gift card through Shopback before so I just ignored it.

    I didn't expect them to extend the offer to me, so getting the follow up email was a pleasant surprise and I jumped on it immediately.

          check your emails, the link seems to be unique for each user. if you didn't get one yesterday you may have missed out but i wouldn't be able to tell you why.
