      Maybe. Assuming that's the Singapore? price, there will be sales between now and then with say, Jetstar, or Air Asia that might beat that. However, the proximity to Easter and school holidays makes that a risky bet.

        Thanks. I'm looking at 25 April. Next day is cheap and many after. Thursday is overnight so may be more popular. It was $230 not long ago, might wait for next basket to drop.

      likely the airport taxes, if I had to guess. And competition from GC airport. Although Scoot stopped flying out of GC a few months ago too :/

    I have had 1 flight with Scoot from Sydney to Singapore. But the experience was bad enough to never board another flight of Scoot

      I just flew with Scoot from Penang to Perth.
      The Penang to Singapore leg was short so not too bad - although check-in took ages..
      The Singapore to Perth leg was on a plane so old the trim on the overhead compartments was falling off and the seats were very cramped. I paid for an onboard upgrade because I just couldn't take it.
      The extra couple kgs in the carry-on is nice though.

        Sounds like you got burnt with an aircraft swap. Their 787s they usually fly to/from Perth are tight but have more than enough legroom for a $150 fare.

    @beatthatflight thanks for the deal posts, I've used them a number of times.

    Scoot's always a deal breaker for me having to go via Singapore. Normally I fly to HCMC which wouldn't be too bad I guess but I was just looking at Syd-Denpasar and it's also via Singapore!

      Yeah they hub & spoke out of Singapore, so that's part and parcel for them, not usually direct (well, unless you're going to Singapore I guess!).

        Yeah I totally understand. It'd kill me having to fly over the top of Bali and all the way to Singapore and then having to fly back again lol!

          There's a frequent flyer adage - 'why fly direct when you can connect' which is great for collecting say, Qantas status credits/points, but yeah when that happens you kinda wish they could just 'drop you off'.

      Since check in baggage is $90 on the Scoot website, it's cheaper to book through Scoot, even if it's $10 more for the flight itself.

    When I try search for return flights, its still only showing one way. Any way to fix this?

      This seems to happen to users sometimes in Chrome. If you try clearing your cookies, it usually fixes this. Failing that, an incognito / private browsing window should do the trick.

    I've seen your posts recently and I've been waiting for cheap flights to Bangkok from Brisbane
    But I just read in your comments Scoot no longer flies to the Gold coast
    But I prefer a full service airline as everything is included

      Remember with low cost carriers, you can always pay for food etc on board if you wish, and so you can still sometimes get a 'full service-lite' experience, for less. I always pay for a Nasi Goreng on Air Asia, it's cheap and delicious! But it's all personal preference.

    Lol $180 extra to add 20kg baggage Melb to KL. Makes the ~$500 I paid for Jetstar business look really good value when you factor in the 30kg checked, 14kg carry on, food, lounge through Qantas Club, etc. Barely paying anything for the better seat.

    Really wanna book a family trip to Kuala Lumpur but the 12 hr+ layover in Singapore kills it. Got little kids so a long layover can become quite unpleasant for them. And if I have a book a hotel in Singapore for overnight stay, then whats the point of trying a cheaper airline?

      Have you considered just booking a return ticket to Singapore, and then looking for another airline to KL return? I've done that before, as there are a lot of other cheap airlines once you get to Singapore (eg Firefly)

      Aside: I finally watched the Mandalorian S1 over the last two nights (saw your username) and wow, it's made Star Wars good again for me!

    I tried looking for SYD-HYD sector flights on Scoot for Apr or July 2024 and nothing shows up. In fact I am not seeing any flights from SYD-HYD at all. Checked Nov23 and Dec2023 as well.

          Aha! If you do a search for a flight, as the result start showing, after about 15-30 seconds a grid will pop up at the top with comparable found prices.

          (However to keep them 'accurate', they're only showing flights found by other users in the last 24 hours, because the longer I cache those values, the more inaccurate they become, given the constant fluctuations in airline pricing :/)

    I click those links and dont see those prices.
    Looking for perth-dps on 29 sept its showing $290

    Are the prices held or anything…see these kinds of posts frequently only to be disappointed everytime.
    Is there something im missing or not doing right usual posts its simple as click the link and see what OPs claims.

      That's actually cheaper than in the post?

      The short summary above has it as from $179. However, Scoot doesn't do that price on every date - Sep 29th is a Friday, for example, and lots of people want to travel on a Friday for a holiday.

      As a result, I search every single date they list as being on sale, and build big tables of all the prices. That doesn't fit on ozbargain (limit 50,000 characters), but if you follow the link to the post on my site, and scroll down to Perth to Bali, you can see the table for that period. It actually lists the 29th Sep as $297. Scoot has the $179 price on Oct 17, 30, 31, Nov 1, 2, 6,7,8 and 9 in that date range, so they get to say 'from $179'. But I produce the table so you can see what dates have those prices, and what other dates are :)

      Hope that helps explain their pricing, and how to find the cheapest.
