        • It counts as a spend rather than a discount and you earn flybuys on flybuys dollars I believe. So think if you have a spend $X per week for four weeks, you can do that with flybuys dollars.

          • @Bdawg: Flybuys dollars have always been a spend/payment method hasn't it? Are you saying if I had paid for let's say a $50 shop (towards a weekly bonus offer) with flybuys dollars it wouldn't have counted towards bonus offer without OnePass?

            • @sub102: That is indeed nothing at all to do with what I was saying?

              • @Bdawg: Then what were you saying?

                • @sub102: Instead of taking $10 off your shop with accumulated flybuys, it is advantageous to turn them into flybuys dollars instead.

                  • @Bdawg: can we do online order for kmart and pay with flybuys point/dollar? in the store yes i always pay with flybuys dollars but not sure about online purchases

                  • +1

@Bdawg: I think you have mixed up Everyday rewards with Flybuys. You can't take $10 off a shop unless you convert flybuys points into dollars. Either way you don't need OnePass to do any of that

                    • @sub102: Incorrect.

                    • @sub102: just recently they introduce that auto saving take 10$ off just like WW but yeah only $10 per transaction so i rather convert to dollars and pay my whole shopping $50++ with it

                      • @CyberMurning: Yes as I said I believe you also earn flybuys on the flybuys dollars you spend - a minor advantage but an advantage nonetheless.

                    • +1

@sub102: Flybuys members will receive the instant $10 discount when they checkout in store once they have received 2,000 Flybuys points.
But, not everyone will receive the discount because it’s only being trialled in selected stores and is not yet available nationally.

                      • @trixieb: Sorry my bad then, thanks everyone for updating me with the new flybuys feature :) However, the point of this whole subthread was whether there's any benefit of OnePass for this as someone had said

    • Do you mean you need to ship at least several orders over 5 months (rather than 5 orders in that year)? The alternate to $20/year is paying $4/mth over any 5 months (does not have to be consecutive months). 5 months is the breakeven point in the comparison.

      • What I'm saying is you've already lost the value of this if you don't ship at least 5 times because yes you can do that by buying $4/monthly 5 times for $20 anyway

        • I think we’re both thinking the same thing and I’m just trying to clarify, that it is not the number of orders you plan to make but it is the number of months you need delivery for. Breakeven is 5 months, not 5 orders. Some people make 5 orders in a month.

          • @delfredo: No my original point was you need to make at least 5 orders if you get this $20 annual subscription (not the monthly ones) I was just comparing the 2 from the the annual subscription's side not the other way round

  • +3

Can we cancel after signing up to avoid having to risk getting charged full freight

    Thanks for the deal OP

    • +5

Just signed up and cancelled. Yep it works

  • +4

Not everthing free shipping just fyi. Big items from kmart are not for example

  • Just realised Catch has been acquired by Wesfarmers, thought it was strange it's included in the program.

    • +1

      was acquired 4 years ago

    • -1

Are you still browsing from Internet Explorer?

  • is this a one time discount or perm $20/yr?

    • +2

One. Earlier this year there was a $30

      • $20 cheapest so far? Wonder if it'll go lower

        • Can't imagine so. Must lose a lot with free freight. Especially when there's no minimum spend

  • +1

Can I link my Flybuys account to 2 Onepass accounts ?

    • +1

If not, then apply for an addition card, you can have up to nine members per Flybuys account.

      • +1

One Flybuys member/number can be added to multiple accounts for Onepass or target?
Or I should create a new Flybuys account and use that for another Onepass or target account

        • +1

          It should work.

  • Code isn't working for me. I am entering it on the promo code and payment screen just after signing up. Or do I only use a code after sign up?
edit: whoops forgot to click annual instead of monthly.. works now!

  • +2

If you already spend $1,000/year ($83/month) at participating stores, 5X Flybuys benefit (4 extra points) will pay for $20 membership.

    • +1

Even to ship one order through Kmart was $14 so I’ve already got 70% of it’s membership value back.

  • +6

This should be the normal price

What's the actual benefit of OnePass, if you don't mind going in-store to collect/purchase items?

I personally have no issue with going in-store to Kmart, Target, Officeworks, Bunnings as they're all close by. I don't purchase items from Catch very often (if at all).

I generally don't have much change of mind returns occur, and 5 x Flybuys, whilst is nice, I don't see it being worth the premium?

I am currently paying Disney+ though, is that where I'd be making some savings? :/

    What am I missing?

    • If you are currently paying $17/month for Disney+, you would save $3/month * 12 = $36, so the first year for $20 seems like a no-brainer.

      • Sometimes low stock items can be delivered to you from stores that are far away. Let's say you're looking for a $10 item, but the only store that stocks it, is 54 kms away. Probably waste of time and resources to go drive to that other store. Purchasing it online, would get it delivered for free via OnePass. You don't even need to look for where the stock is, it will deliver it to you.
      • Shops like Kmart and Bunnings, you may end up spending more than you planned to purchase when in store. Purchasing online using onepass free delivery, allows you to buy exactly what you want without splurging on extra items you see while walking through a store.
      • The savings in petrol driving to the store.
      • Saving time you spend going to the store and/or walking around in the store. Time in which you can use to do something else. If you live a busy life, sometimes ordering it online saves you from going in store.

I'm sure there's other benefits/conveniences but it would depend on your lifestyle, what things you think are important, and who you are as a person. May not be for everyone.

      • If you already know a specific item you want to buy and don't get distracted, online and in store shopping are about the same (excluding the time going to the store)

If you also browse other items, most likely you will spend more time online than in store, because there are many more items online, and it's a lot easier and faster to see the details when you're actually looking at the item in person.

      • I still pass, $20 in my wallet.

I don't need Disney and I'm surrounded by 3 bunnings stores.

        • +6

Hah i've seen alot of flex before, but never a Bunnings flex. That must be the new e-peen flex! Hah.

        • Dependent on where you live I think also. Bit inconvenient driving as I live in the inner city so if I need something bulky from those stores it's a pita to use public transport. That's just a reason I'm considering getting this

          • @daltron8484: One pass does not inc bulky items. Otherwise, it would have been a deal for me.

            • @boomramada: Thats fair. When I say bulky I meant just more too big to take on a tram, which doesnt have to be very much haha

      • What a comprehensive and persuasive essay on the pros. Well done and thanks bought 1.

    • I;m defos more intrigued about wtf I can get online from
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/catch.com.au

      • Dont worry we have 365 days.
        And kmart… target… bunnings..

  • I didnt get an option to add a promo code when signing up annually? Is this not available for new users? It's only telling me to start a 30 day trial

    • +1

I'm a new subscriber. There is a box for the promo code. I think it's on the second screen. It's definitely before the payment details.
You get the free one month trial and then they deduct $20 from the first year's subscription, so that's $20.

      • Hmmm I didn't get that option but I did this via mobile. Might have to try on a new email on a desktop

    • +1

It's the screen after you put in your email, but before the phone number verification

      • Yeah found it, I'm blind hahah. I was looking for a text box but it's a button you have to click

  • Thanks OP

I just bought a membership because of the number of green plus’s

    • +1

I think the same is about to happen to me, damn these deals!!

    • -1

Number of green plus’s may relate to increasing members also, ozbargain is now a pretty old website

  • Nice, easily worth the money.

  • -3

amazon prime increasing price to $79/yr now looks pretty pricey

    • +8

Wasn't aware that OnePass includes access to movies, music, games, and shipping from overseas at no additional cost.

      • +2

        And next day delivery

        • +1

Ahh the Amazon con. Next day delivery AFTER dispatch (with no guarantees, can be days or weeks) andf if you're in a next day delivery area.

  • -3

Shame big isn't included, i presume it's a different parent company?

  • +1

Where do you enter code if you are on trial.

    • When you select your Plan, and choose Annual, there is a section you have to click to enter the promo code

      • I go to manage membership and see my current plan as free trial. Dont see the option to change to annual.

        • you cant. you need to be able to resub.

    • you cant. you need to be able to resub.

      • So cancel membership and then resubscribe again?

        • +3

no, i did that. when you cancel membership still active till trial ends
doesnt let you resub until trial ends.
spoke to chat as well and they confirmed.

  • Well what the hell i just signed up

  • +14

Thanks. Signed up and ordered 3x 20kg bags of pool salt from bunnings. Had to order them 1 at a time to get free delivery.

So much easier than lugging the bags from the store, to my car, to my garage. The effort for this alone will be enough to justify the $20

    • +8

      What about pool pepper ?

    • +1

I honestly thought something weighing 20kg would be excluded from free delivery. Nice find.

      • +1

        Yeah, the limits are:

        Max weight 22kgs
        Max length 110cm x height 70cm x width 70cm
        Max dimensions 0.25 cubic metres

Which means most bags of compost and potting mix fall under this too!

    • +1

      name checksout

  • +1

Damn, I used this code and signed up to get free delivery on an order from Bunnings, but now I realize the order is too large or heavy, the delivery isn't free.

  • +1

For those who has this, if I've linked my Flybuys account with my husband, does it matter which card we use to get the 5x points or do we have to remember to use just one?

    • +1

If anyone else was wondering about this, I just asked them today and she said as long as the Flybuys cards are linked, then the household can get the points :)

  • +2

Do u need to scan the fly bys card and the onepass as well to get 5x? What's most efficient?

    • +2

You need to link your Flybuys account to OnePass

Then you can just scan Flybuys barcode as per normal.

      • Thanks

  • +1

Worth it just for the 5x points. Sign me up!

  • +7

Personally happy just signing up for a $4 month when needed, and cancelling the subscription until it's needed again. Probably only order from Kmart etc.. every 2-3 months, so it's going to be about even (a little bit less or more). Allows us to be more intentional about our subscriptions, and essentially justify it as $4 for shipping plus a bonus 30 days of free shipping if we need anything else.

  • +1

Currently paying month to month. Is there a way I can get this deal?

    • +1

cancel the current one and sign up a new account.

  • Thanks, signed up

  • +4

    This is the way.

If you buy things from kmart every now and then, this is amazing. Saves you the trouble of actually going to kmart just to buy one item (and you always end up buying other items you don’t need) and look at the petrol prices costing you on each trip.

    • +10

They may have learnt that from Amazon Prime. The moment shoppers don't have to worry about shipping costs, they just buy things adhoc all the time.

I have held off buying countless times due to shipping, or waiting to buy other things together but ended up forgotten about it and not buying anything at all.

Large businesses are in a great position to negotiable contract terms with courier companies.

    • but i like picking the stuff thats behind

  • Worked successfully.
    Thanks OP!
