Good deal as opposed to other deal going for $569+18 http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/79940

    • +7

This one is direct import. The other one is local stock. So not exactly the same.

      • +4

Note: We also have the Atick Version available for an additional $10.00 - Pre-loaded with Optus Software

        • whats the warranty?

        • 24 months Manufacture on this Version

        • Hi Rep
Does the atick version come in a sealed unopened box?

        • Yes it sure does

        • hi Rep, I tried to place an order today but the code OZBS3B18 didn't work. is the deal over already for the 32gb $529?

    • This deal is grey import with 12 months warranty as the other deal is local 24 months warranty. But still a good price.

Edit: Slow web browser didn't see above post ;-)

    • As opposed to? Suggests that it wasn't a good deal. The extra factory warranty and pick up options is worth the $ IMO.

  • Hopefully we see some good deals on the 4g model coming through

    • Does the 4G version have the same specs just with added LTE? Or will it also have 2GB RAM and other hardware improvements?

      • I believe it's the same, although it is going to be quad core unlike the HTC one XL. So battery life should be decent

        • I thought it already is a quad core?

        • +1

the S3 is quad core. Not sure about the 4G version

The HTC one X is Quad core but the 4G version is only dual core

        • It is, but there was talks of it being dual core because of the LTE chip, but it is coming out with quad

      • It has 2GB RAM according to US adverts.

    • having 4G on a quad core was the challenge physically fit the chip on the phone, i believe they somehow overcome that, wasnt possible tech wise merely months ago

      • +1

Pretty sure it's a Quad Core chip plus an additional LTE chip (Plus the extra 1GB RAM) - people haven't reported on the battery life yet, but from reports, the standalone LTE chip 'destroys' batteries :/

  • Decent prices. Will buy some Wildfire S ^_^

    • Got my X3 for $69 for Wollies five months ago (locked to Voda)

  • No cheap Blackberries this week?

    • +9

      Try Vic Market.

      • never thought of that I tried the superbutcher but <sigh>

    • +1

What are you chasing? Might be able to do something for you :)

      • +1

Thanks, something to replace a broken 9700 I wasn't quick enough on the 9100 last time

        • +2

          I can do you a 9100 for $85.

        • +1

sounds good, I sent you a msg

        • +1

All done. Enjoy the phone :)

        • I am interested in that too. Just sent you a PM.

        • What is the brand?support 3G?

        • Sorry I am now sold out of this model at the special price

        • +2

can you do anything on the Sony xperia S or the acro s?

  • +3

    wildfire s = single core

each core worth 110$ish so 4x $110 = quad core price

    LOGIC!

  • will i receive a tax invoice for S3?

    • No GST for imports under $1000

    • Wondering the same for the Optus version?

  • Price on the Samsung is really good. But prices on HTC One S and X are higher than others? Any deals on those 2 in the future?

    • Sure, What is your target price? I will work on it

      • Hi rep, just use kogan as reference point. Currently $439 delivered for one x.

      • Hey uniquemobiles. For the 2 shipped about $800. Do you stock the Black HTC One S, or only the grey?

  • +1

rep please do a sub $500 deal on the 16gb

  • +2

Can get the wildfire S on telstra prepaid for $129 at officeworks or harvey norman. I assume this is locked to Telstra.
Or $104 (+ shipping) from here http://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?product… This is the 3G version.

    • Thanks for that link. But what a bad website, can't find a thing :-(
How much is shipping for this Wildfire S?

      • Oh haha I found it out already after sharing all my personal info to create an account…

This is currently the only shipping method available to use on this order.

        Express Courier/Express Post(2 - 4 Working Days to metro area *)
        Australia Wide Delivery: AU$74.95

        :-)

  • Any dirt cheap phones with capability to use as a 3g modem?

  • +2

Now that iPhone5 is out, don't really see the point of this phone until 4G model comes out…

    • 4g will make barely any difference to either product.
If we were getting maxed 3G bandwidth to our phones it'd be a different story.

      • +1

Rubbish!! 2 of my colleagues have 4G Samsung phones, we tested them against 2 x 3G phones using the speedtest.net app (4-5 bars reception).

Results were between 1.5mps and 3.5mps for the 3G, 18mps and 33mps on 4G. It is HEAPS quicker for data my friend. Don't kid yourself, the S3 without 4G is dead and buried.

        • +1
        • +2

Whats the point of ultra high speed downloads when you have 5 gig or lower download limit? Surely 4G is overkill to the max for most users.

        • -8

The point is that technology progresses and soon enough (or now) apps will be built around 4G speed as a minimum. This S3 is now missing a major technology upgrade and SHOULD NOT be as expensive as it is.

Thanks for all those recent S3 buyers who neg my last post. :-)

        • -1

Which now available apps require 4G speed to operate?

        • -6

When did I ever claim this? Re-read my post again champ, perhaps a couple of times.

        • -1

Then it's a bit sad that networks aren't using some of their backhaul capacity to better the 3G service.

        • I think you will find that as contention of 4G goes up and 3G goes down speeds will converge somewhat. Not to mention, once you are fast enough to stream HD video, which 3G is, what do you do with all that extra speed when you have a 5 gig dl limit?

        • faster speed = faster to chew up DL quota. this is a good thing, frees up all the network hogs.

  • -4

pft. I'm surprised they can sell these obsolete phones at any price now that the SGS3 4G and SGN2 are out.
Will be sub $500 soon for the 32GB.

  • +3

Any deals on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus coming up?

    • Came and went already.

  • +1

Yeah S3 should be under 500 soon.

  • +1

Hi Rep, any deal on a HTC Explorer ? My son wants this mobile.

  • He will get bored with that very quickly.Just get a 2nd hand Desire a8183 of eBay.Way better specs and easy to root.
If you really want the Explorer you can get it for $1.00 here -
    http://www.redbullmobile.com.au/pre-paid/sim-packs/access-36…

    • That red bull offer is $30 per month if i read it correctly?

      • Yes $1.00 a day for a year, but if you are already considering spending around $100.00 on a HTC Explorer then it's a pretty good deal.

        • Did you even READ the deal? It's $365 for a year's worth of data then $1 for the HTC Explorer, coming up to $366 for a HTC Explorer as well as Unlimited Calls, Texts and 7GBs of Data per month for a year.
HTC Explorer has been on sale countless times for $99 though, at Dicksmith and Woolworths etc, so really what you recommended (which isn't even the deal offered) isn't even worth it in the end.

        • Yes i did read the deal,did you? It's 5gb of data a month not 7gb.
Nothing i have said is wrong.
rjb is looking to buy the Explorer outright so i think this is a good alternative.
          $1.00 a day for a year + $1.00 for the Explorer,unlimited calls/sms & 5gb a month.
What exactly is wrong with that?

  • +1

    https://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobilephone/samsung/4ggalaxys3 is out on optus,

    1.4Ghz Exynos Quad Core
    2GB RAM confirmed

    definitely worth getting over SG3.

    • +2

Worth locking yourself into a 2 year contract? : )

  • Sorry I am not up with the lingo.

    What is the Atick version?

Does it have 2 years local manufacturer's warranty like the $569 deal?

    • Yes, Correct this version will have Manufacture Warranty (24 Months)

      • Hi Rep, what about tax invoice? Hoping to utilize the TRS as well. Thanks in adv.

        • Sorry no Tax Invoice is supplied. Item shipped from Overseas (GST wont apply for items under $1000)

        • I am confused - if it is the Australian (Optus) version with 24 months local warranty then why no GST or Tax Invoice?

        • It's made in Asia. Somewhere between the Factory in Asia and the Optus Shop, the phone has taken a "detour"

        • So how does it qualify for the 24 months local warranty then?

        • I'd assume because it's the official Australian market product, not a product intended for other countries.

  • +2

These phones depreciate hard. Watch this phone go sub $300 in the next few months.

  • Rep any chance of the pink s2 for <$440 including shipping? :) thanks in advance!

    • Please send me a PM

      • +9

        Will Julia do ?

        • NNnnnooooooooo !!! :-(

    • S2 is $400 at Kogan today.
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/80065#comment-1030649
Not sure about pink.Get a pink cover instead.

      • No pink, only white and black. If I can't get a decent price on the pink I'll be going for Kogan :)

  • REP: Any GOOD tablet deals in the near future for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8010 16GB WiFi Grey? (FYI - some in-store negotiations have seen prices as low as $512.)

  • +1

Do you guys reckon that the AU ver will have better resale value than the import? Also, would it be easy to remove the Optus stuff on there? Thanks.

    • Happy to remove Optus Software for you before we dispatch with your approval. Let me know your order number after purchase

      • So it's usually brand new and sealed?

  • Any deals on the Aus stock Galaxy S3 white?

    • What price would you like to see for the HTC One X?

      • I have sent you a PM, are you able to reply to me there. I did post it further up as well. More after a package of both the Htc One X and One S.
