Offer valid for more than once per customer and Amazon.com.au account.
    https://www.amazon.com.au/b/ref=s9_acss_bw_cg_GCF_2a1_w?node…

Surprising, T&Cs state multiple purchases for Amazon gift card will get the promo credit.

    • Could it be a typo? Few comments saying they didn't receive the second credit.

    • +3

      ok, here's my experience:
1st GC purchase, too easy. GCs, benefit email and $10 credit all received almost instantly.
2nd purchase. 1 hr to receive the GCs, no benefit email or account credit.

Went onto chat, went around and around trying to explain the situation of 2 x $200 = 2 x $10 promo credit, no email confirmation received etc.
Firstly the rep said it takes up to 2 days to get the $10 acct credit, then I said I got it instantly for the first purchase….then they said, oh you don't need an email it should apply at the checkout automatically. At which point I tried a dummy purchase, and a mysterious "courtesy credit" appear in addition to the "GC promotion" credit.

They said "yeah it's the same thing", but I dunno…sounds weird. Still no confirmation for the 2nd benefit, but the credit is there I guess. YMMV.
It might be worth chasing them up for your "courtesy credit" if you haven't received the 2nd credit.

Oh, and a slight caveat…if it makes any difference, it only applies to items sold and shipped by Amazon AU. I tried to purchase something from Amazon UK and the promo credits did not apply.

      • I'm in the same boat - can't see my second $10 promo credit just yet, even though the first does show.

  • Thanks OP, stocked up!

  • +5

    Thanks for the deal!

Some tips as I usually find these promotions can cause confusion:

    • The promotion for the $10 credit says Gift Card, but eGift card worked for me too (just making the distinction as the promotional page says Gift Card specifically and the other deals say "eGift card")
    • The code is GCFESTSEP not AMAZONFEST (as stated in the FAQ second question example on the amazon landing page)
    • Usually if you enter the promo code a second time, you get a red error message. In this case, you can add it again but you don't seem to get the error message (this actually made me second guess myself)
    • Under the price total box on the right, it did state "Qualifying Promotions: GC Promotion" or something like that.

I received my "Benefit Confirmation" email about 5 minutes after purchasing.

    • This time I didn't get the error message on the app, and couldn't see anything telling me code was applied. Received benefit confirmation straight away though, quicker than any previous promos like this.

A bit lower than the last 10% discount for Restaurant Choice, however you can still use Amazon gift card credit to purchase Restaurant choice gift cards. So if you stack with other Amazon GC deals like Prezzee, Coles GCs etc. you essentially get 15% or more off on all your eating out/food deliveries.

    • So I should buy $200 Amazon gift card, and then use that to buy Restaurant Choice gift card?

      • Yes that will work.
Though I don't know if the promotional $10 credit will work when buying other gift cards if you are intending on using that too.

  • The first gift card came straight away , the 2nd card I’m waiting and it’s been 45min and still waiting . I’m
    hesitant to purchase 3rd card

    • Did you get it?

      • Yes

        • Did you get the 2nd $10 promo credit too?

    • -1

I’m hesitant to purchase 3rd card

You're worried you might get scammed by the largest online marketplace worldwide?

  • I clicked through the link but didn't use the code will i still get the credit also not received the gift card yet longest I have had to wait

  • Entered code in the “Gift Cards & Promotional Codes” box at check-out(“Offer”).
    But no change at all.

I have to wait 2 days to see the result.

  • Restaurant choice discount does not not seem to be applying. Is it not automatic?

    • I ordered $500*2 Restaurant choice and had the -$80 discount

      • Does it show 500 or 460 at checkout? Mine shows 500…

        • Total:$1,000.00
          Promotion(s) Applied:-$80.00
          Gift Card Amount:-$920.00

          used my $920 existing amount

      • I'm not seeing discount neither, do you just add 2x $500 and checkout? simple as that?

        • +1

          Order Summary
          Items: $500.00
          Delivery: $0.00
          Total: $500.00
          Promotion(s) Applied: -$40.00
          Gift Certificates: -$460.00

          Just tried.
The 8% discount is still there

          • @simon 84: Got it, sorry user error, have to go all the way to payment to see discount.

            • @plain_biscuit: Got it working now. I was trying to verify the amount I would have to convert into Amazon gift cards (while in the middle of converting) and did not get to the final step where the discount applies. Cheers all.

  • Thanks bought a $500 Restaurant Choice card.

  • So max benefit is 13% with 2x $200 Amazon gift cards and the 8%. As close as it gets to the 15% off days of restaurant choice past (let's not talk about the 20%)

    • Why 2 x $200 Amazon gc?

      • +1

        For two promo credits?

        • Has anyone managed to use GCFESTSEP successfully more than once and gotten a second credit? If so, I'll try it too

      • I always try and maximise the amount on the RC gift card. I have a bunch of residual balances that can't pedicabs be used, like 1.20 or whatever that I can't buy a coffee or whatever with, bigger gift card makes this loss less as a%

        • Why? You can use it to buy coffee, just say you're paying 1.20 with a gift card.

        • any balance over $1, I just buy one frozen coke from Mcdonalds.

  • Anyone getting

The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

    I’m adding the GCFESTSEP code…

I’m ordering more than $200 restaurant choice gc

    • Still working for me, except I didn't put the code in the first time :(

      EDIT: For Amazon gift card

    • That code is for Amazon gift card

      • Ah gotcha, so stupid me should buy that first before restaurant, doh

  • +1

Bought a $200 Amazon GC. "Benefit Confirmation" email was received 6 minutes later :)

Thanks for purchasing $200 or more of Amazon.com.au Gift Cards. In accordance with the promotional terms, we have now automatically applied a $10 promotional credit to your account which will automatically be applied to your next purchase of eligible item(s) shipped and sold by Amazon AU.

  • +2

For those wanting to buy the $300 Airbnb GC, you can use the $210 Amazon AU credits (from buying the $200 Amazon GC) as payment method, so you only need to pay another $90. This is effectively $260 for a $300 Airbnb GC. 13.33333333% discount!

  • A bit of note as credit for first gift card come straight away but still havent receive the 2nd $10 yet for my 2nd GC purchase. So the first$10 can be used to purchase restaurant card.

    • have you got the 2nd one yet?

      • No still haven't receive it after 24hrs. I'm now tends to think Amazon screwed up on this one. Th group wrote T&C seems did not communicate well with the actual department giving out credits LOL

  • How do spend all remaining small amount of credit with Best Restaurant Gift Card? Can this Gift card use for Doordash?

    • Are you talking about Best Restaurant or Restaurant Choice card? Only Restaurant Choice can be used on all food delivery and restaurants.

Many Restaurants will also let you do split payments, where you can request the exact amounts to charge and use up the whole card.

  • Does the restaurant gift card works pretty mucb everywhere as stated or is it another scam?

    • Yeh it works anywhere for a merchant with MCC 5812 (Eating Places, Restaurants) or 5814 (Fast Food) including food delivery and other food apps. It will not work for 5813 (Bars, Nightclubs, Taverns). You can check the MCC list for a better idea. On the rare occasion you may encounter a restaurant that hasn't set up their Eftpos terminal with the correct MCC which will then decline, nothing you can do about that since it's not the card's fault.

      • Thanks for replying, it gives me hope because the reviews are horrible on this card.

      • It will not work for 5813 (Bars, Nightclubs, Taverns)

        Really?

The terms and conditions of the Restaurant Choice gift cards says the permitted MCCs for this gift card are:

        • Caterers (5811);
        • Eating Places and Restaurants (5812);
        • Drinking Places (Alcoholic Beverages), Drinking Places (Non-Alcoholic Beverages), Bars, Taverns, Cocktail Lounges, Nightclubs and Discoteques (5813);
        • Fast Food Restaurants (5814);
        • Hotels, Motels & Resorts (7011);
        • Amusement Parks, Circuses, Carnivals and Fortune Tellers (7996);
        • Membership Clubs (Sports, Recreation, Athletic), Country Clubs and Private Gold Courses (7997);

If you go to a merchant using MCC 5813 and Blackhawk Network rejects your attempt to use a Restaurant Choice gift card (assuming you have sufficient balance available and you chose the right card network and the card PIN was correct, assuming a card PIN was requested by the merchant), I would reach out to them and ask why, especially when the terms and conditions you accepted at the time of purchase said it would work at MCC 5813.

        • It did not work for me at a place that I confirmed was 5813 but I did not investigate further. Perhaps it was a different issue (like 3DS)

          • +2

@wangasm: I reached out to BHN to get guidance on this, and they confirmed:

            • MCC 5813 is definitely permitted on Restaurant Choice gift cards, so you should consider reaching out to BHN to see whether they can see any reason from their end that your transactions were declined.

            • MCC 7997 is blocked on Restaurant Choice gift cards. (This point is more relevant to @New Chump.)

            • The FAQs and Terms and Conditions on the Restaurant Choice gift card website should now be up to date.

            • @WookieMonster: Thanks for confirming, the tavern/pub I was at must have had 3DS enforced for these cards or something (They used a website/app for ordering). The Fork gift card however worked fine at the same place.

              • @wangasm: Ahhh that makes much more sense, as I assumed you were trying to pay by tapping/swiping at an EFTPOS terminal (a card-present transaction), rather than paying via an app/website (a card-not-present transaction).

If you are paying via an app/website, it would be up to the payment gateway whether they will accept a prepaid card (or a card not supporting 3-D Secure). I once tried placing an order at the table at one restaurant via their website, but it was declined due to the card (a prepaid Visa gift card) failing their security check.

The fact that The Fork gift card worked (when the Restuarant Choice gift card was rejected) could be an indication of one of the following (or both):

                • The restaurant worked with their payment gateway to make sure The Fork gift cards were allowed on their app/website.

                • The restaurant’s payment gateway will accept prepaid Mastercard gift cards on their app/website, but will reject prepaid Visa gift cards. I have noticed more generally that prepaid Visa gift cards are more likely to be blocked for card-not-present transactions than prepaid Mastercard gift cards…

            • +1

@WookieMonster: Yes, this reflects my experience, thanks.

(TCN's Pamper gift cards work at venues with an MCC 7997.)

        • Blackhawk has this month removed 7997 from their list of acceptable MCCs on their FAQ page: https://restaurantchoice.com.au/Faq but curiously have not removed it from the terms and conditions, as WM points out above. I think that is an oversight, and the Restaurant Choice gift card can no longer be used at venues with an MCC of 7997.

          • @New Chump: Blackhawk Network removed MCC 7997 from one of the FAQs.

If you look under Where can I use my Restaurant Choice gift card?, it says:

The Restaurant Choice Gift Card can be used at the following merchant category locations: Eating Places and Restaurants (5812), Hotels, Caterers (5811), Drinking Places (Alcoholic Beverages), Bars,
Taverns, Cocktail lounges, Nightclubs and Discotheques (5813) Fast Food Restaurants (5814) Motels & Resorts, Central Merchant (7011), Amusement Parks, Circuses, Carnivals, and Fortune Tellers (7996).

… but it says under the next two FAQs (Can I spend my gift card in restaurants that are not shown on the website?, What can I spend my gift card on?):

The Restaurant Choice Gift Card can be used at the following merchant category locations: Eating Places and Restaurants (5812), Hotels, Caterers (5811), Drinking Places (Alcoholic Beverages), Bars,
Taverns, Cocktail lounges, Nightclubs and Discotheques (5813) Fast Food Restaurants (5814) Motels & Resorts, Central Merchant (7011), Amusement Parks, Circuses, Carnivals, and Fortune Tellers (7996), Membership Clubs (Sports, Recreation, Athletic), Country Clubs, and Private Golf Course (7997).

            • @WookieMonster: Nice spot! Their conflicting terms give me no confidence. (I have field tested MCC 7997 venues with digital RC gift cards and all have failed.)

  • Does anyone else have trouble checking card balances with my prepaid centre? Whenever I’m there and plug in my card PCN, it spits out an error.

  • Got the benefit email 1 min after Amazon card purchase. Hesitant to buy a 2nd time given some people have yet to receive benefit email for 2nd purchase.

  • Used Special Super Shopper $200 from AmEx 10% discount.

Two $100 worked. I think multiple eGCs (to $200) are OK.

The promotional credit must be used by 31 August 2024.

What is this? Can share more info pls?

      • If you don't have it, ignore my comment. Info here.

  • Received nothing about "Benefit Confirmation" yet. I bought $200 Amazon GC at 5am. also, $200 purchased took from my bank account instead of existing gift card balance 😔

    • +3

You can't use Amazon GC to buy Amazon GC.

    • also, $200 purchased took from my bank account instead of existing gift card balance

Because you instructed it to. It would have said what payment method you were using at checkout. In either case you can't buy Amazon GCs with Amazon GC balance.

  • +1

One easy way to do this is to buy $200 Amazon eGift, getting $210 total value, then buy $228.26 RC eGift.

Basically 12.38% savings on RC eGift.

  • +6

Prezzee currently has footy e-gift card promotion, $150 bonus $10. You can swap it with Amazon or other stores.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/790360

    • Thanks. Also worth mentioning you can get another $10 with the other gift card as well.

Restaurant Choice eGift Card discount sold out?

  • +1

Are the restaurant choice cards gone? I get to the end and it doesn't indicate the 8% discount.

  • I think the Amazon cards promotion is finished, it’s not applying the discount .

  • This is so frustrating. Got the Amazon card so I could buy a RC one and now the deal is over.

    • Same here :(

    • Keep checking. RC used be restocked for a few times in previous 10% off deals.

      • The offer page now shows "Restaurant Choice: Redemption cap has now been exhausted. This offer is no longer available"
Might be slim restock chance this time

  • I wonder why they bother saying it lasts for a week when it’s always OOS in an hour??

  • I just bought the Amazon GC, then read the comments and got worried, but I just got my benefit email. Cool beans

    • wow nice you got it, i haven't received it yet lol

  • +3

Bought 1x$200 Amazon GC last night, got the benefit email 8 minutes after (promo credit appears in account). Bought a second $200 Amazon GC and no benefit email nor promo credit yet :/

  • +2

Code doesn't seem to apply in cart, just disappears. Anyone else experiencing this?

    • There should be “You successfully redeemed your promotional code.” with green tick after you entered the code.

    • Same! Probably all redeemed?

  • damn missed out on restaurant choice :(

    • same I saw this last night and 8% were not that interested so I snoozed

    • Me too 😢 Either low stock quantities or people were buying heaps cause others are still available.

  • When adding Restaurant Choice to my apple wallet the card has no image, it’s only a white card. Is that normal? It’s hard for me to tell that it’s a Restaurant Choice card, in amongst all other cards in the wallet.

    • It show's up on my google wallet as a black card with image of Restaurant Choice.

      • That's how it should be. Strange that I'm getting a blank white card in my apple wallet.

    • Whenever I add them to my apple wallet they are white with no image as well. I’m using an iPhone 11.

      • Good to know I'm not the only one!

  • -1

Are we able to transfer a small amount of existing Best gift restaurant gift card to new gift card?Or how to use small balance? Is Uber eat and Doordash work on this card?

  • just bought another $200 using my other account, receive the benefit straight. But maybe have to chase the benefit for my second purchase.

    • +2

contacted amazon CS, they had to manually apply $10 promotion credit to my account.

      • even though i got the email for the $10 credit (1st purchase of $200), this still isn't in my account . perhaps i should call amazon to apply it manually.
and the odd thing is i got the $30 from the $300 airbnb purchase in my account already

        • Maybe the $10 credit was used on the AirBNB gc? Is your invoice total $290? Mine was.

          • @CVonC: ah nah i paid the full $300 when i did the airbnb voucher

yeah might need to call amazon.
when you chatting with them, you called or is there an online chat platform?

      • I had to chat with Amazon CS too. After more than 3 or 4 failed attempts with reps that wouldn't budge even though it says "more than once per customer" last night, I finally was able to get my account credited with the second $10 promo with a rep tonight. This last one was super quick and didn't even argue with me.

  • Has anyone tried paying with Restaurant gift card overseas?

  • Never got the promo, so annoying. I applied the code and did it pretty early on. Need to contact csr which is a task within itself.
