Yo Chi Natural Frozen Yoghurt 500ml $5.50 (was $9.50) @ Coles

80

Not sure when this is ending (possibly tomorrow), or if this is a common sale. We only recently started to enjoy this as they have recently open a shop in Perth. We found the taste, in particular the Wild Berry, to be quite nice and refreshing. However, they are pretty pricey, but is much more reasonable at this sale price.

  • yeah it's good.

I think I got it a few months ago around launch for $4.50.

  • Natural.. no nutritional info, even on their website.

I am curious about the "natural" claim. Haven't been able to find the ingredients anywhere on the internet. Is that "natural" another form "natural style" i.e. a natural bull shit?

  • They are not selling it well and sounds like a BS claim.
Being dairy for a start it's natural or healthy.

The Woolworths website is better anyway with multiple product images.

This could give you an idea, low fat at least:

Here's the ingredients from my package for the wild berry one:
Greek Natural Yogurt (48%) (Milk, Milk Solids, Yogurt Cultures), Skim Milk, Raw Sugar, Invert Syrup (Sugar, Water), Strawberry Puree (1.5%) (Strawberries 1%, Sugar), Raspberry Ripple (1.5%) (Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Raspberries <1%, Vegetable Gum (412)), Dextrose (Maize), Milk Solids, Yogurt Powder <1% (Dietary Fiber (Chicory), Maltodextrin (Potato), Flavours, Food Acid (330, Milk Cultures), Raspberry Juice Concentrate <1%, Blueberry Juice Concentrate <1%, Beetroot Juice, Natural Flavour, Stabiliser Blend (Contains Emulsifier (471), Vegetable Gums (40, 466, 407a)), Vegetable Gum (415)

It also has sticker saying No Artificial Colours/Flavours & Gluten Free. So perhaps that's why they claim its Natural

In terms of nutritional info (per 100g):
    Energy 569kJ / 136 cal
    Protein 4.9g
    Fat Total 4.5g
    Saturated 2.7g
    Carb 18.6g
    Sugars 18.0g
    Sodium 46mg
    Gluten ND

    Recommended serving size 56g

Macro wise I think its not too bad. I would have this very sparingly to tame my sweet tooth cravings.

    • Christ do they call those ingredients natural lol.

Their natural claim would be because it contains Greek Natural Yogurt (48%).

Doesn't look like they are making any health claims so I don't know why the health aspects are being so heavily discussed.

It's clearly not a health food and doesn't claim to be but the nutritional info isn't that bad. Berry tastes good.
