0% Variable FVF on 3 New Listings (Existing Sellers until 31/10, $25 Cap) or 5 New Listings (New/Return Seller) @ eBay Australia

2930

It's back! eBay seller fee promos for October 2023 for existing sellers, or until December for new or reactivated sellers.

There's a chance new or reactivated sellers can double up and take advantage of both promotions if they activate both at the same time, adding up to 8x $0 FVF listings.

No eBay Plus required it seems.

Enjoy :)

  • So no point having an Ebay Plus subscription if it's no longer required for this monthly 3 x sales offer?

EDIT: Oh I see you do need Ebay Plus for the discounted shipping offer however.

  • +3

For some reason I have the "Up to $25 off Variable Fees on Eligible Listings*" and also the "5 x 0% Variable Fees - New or Reactivated Sellers". How do I choose to use the 5x one over the the 25$ one when I list?

    • the discount will apply to the first accepted promotion only .

      • I accepted the 3 x 0% Variable Fee Promotion, Non-Store and instead got the Up to $25 off Variable Fees on Eligible Listings offer. I'd rather the other promotion apply first. Should I contact ebay support to disable it?

        • I tried . they won't help

          • @Happyday2014: Guess 25$ would be fine for selling cheaper items but how much I wonder..?

  • Still not showing up in my promos ( https://www.ebay.com.au/mys/overview ) even after accepting??

    • Probably work around 10am-midday if it is meant to be what was posted

    • Same I can accept the 3x (for existing one) but it never appeared on my overview like usual. When I clicked the 2nd time, it said already accepted but still not showing in overview.

  • +1

So when I click the link I get taken to page "3x 0% Variable Fee Promotion, Non-Store" but then when you click "get offer" I get taken to another page and it comes up with "Up to $25 Variable Fees on Eligible Listings"..
First page has no reference to this $25 cap..

    • +1

The 5x 0% variable fee deal can be accepted but doesn't show in dashboard.
So I think maybe the offers aren't properly live right now.

    • Same, and it didn't show up under my selling account too of the offer.

  • up to 25$ off only

  • +1

$25 only for me too after pressing accept :|

    • That's annoying. Now I don't know whether to accept and just sell with the $25 discount and not lose time on potential sales, or if ebay hasn't made a mistake and will honor the $0 fee.

      • the $25 discounted fees doesn't even show in your dashboard, so you're better off giving it a day or so.
Because it not showing in dashboard can be an issue. Last time ebay support didn't even want to see proof I'd accepted the promotion. They just refused me because it wasn't showing on their end.

        • Ah okay, so can't even use that. Thanks for the heads up.

          • @Vita85: It may work, but I don't think its worth risking the hassle right now.
Hoping its fixed today, if not monday. But someone mentioned the start date for the 5 free listings for new sellers changed to 3/10 so maybe the other one changed too and ebay hasn't updated it.

  • showing same $25 bucks for me after accepting the offer.

  • I think OP just got it wrong and got all our hopes up. Jk.

    Hopefully it changes later today

  • +4

Start date on the 5x free listings is now 3/10

    • Weird, hasn't updated for me.
      Ebay being ebay I guess

  • -7

    EBay screwed is again

Mods can you remove this post

    • +5

Yeah mods, please remove the entire post because someone who hasn't posted a single deal in 11 years on ozb said so, due to the deal not being readily available at their whim.
And please ignore the fact that ebay has repeatedly been off by hours or even days.

  • +1

I have a feeling eBay will provide a different link in a few days as they always do.

  • +1

I intelligently activated both offers at the same time, does anyone know how eBay behaves in this case when selling?

    • +2

      First offer activated gets used.

    • I never get these offers shown in my Selling Overview, however the links provided always seem to work. Hopefully the links get updated soon.

  • +1

Looking at the deal for new sellers, it has this:

"Sell it: Accept this offer and you’ll pay 0% variable fees on up to 5 pre-loved fashion sales. "

That seems to indicate it only covers clothes sales?
But there isnt any mention of that in the sections "What is the Promotion?" or "What exclusions apply?"

Can anyone clarify what thats about? That line doesnt appear in the existing sellers deal..

    • Looks like they've messed up both deals

      • what do you mean?

i asked support they refused to answer until i told him where i got the link from..

        • Ebay customer support is toatally useless. Most of their support staff does not know anything.

    • +1

@sugarshark eBay likes to copy and paste previous promos into new promos and forget to remove or change some details of the old promos. They always get it wrong.

  • +3

You've already accepted the offer "Up to $25 off Variable Fees on Eligible Listings*"

    • +1

      Same for me too :(

    • Same here and it isnt showing in the promotional offers section either.

    • The fact that it doesn’t show on your promotional offers dashboard implies that it’s not the correct promo. Which means this deal is still a possibility. I think we just have to wait for a proper link from eBay over the coming days.

      • +2

either the $25 on fees is working or the 3 x 0% is.
Just posted and sold a couple games for $70 and got 30c fees.
But neither offer shows in my overview.
Don't really wanna risk it with something more expensive to find out.
        proof: https://i.imgur.com/zN5YFVg.png

        • Can you PM me, I’ll tell you how to find out what promo it was allocated to. Then we can share our findings with the thread.

  • +1

At what point does this post get taken down?

    • +2

It'll probably get moved to the forum in a day if its not working

  • Confirming the $25 off final value fee was applied to the sale I made today.

    • If you accepted both offers, does that mean you get 8 FVF off?

    • is it for all category or for the pre-loved fashion only ?

    • Hey mate. Just confirming the sale that you made was for an item that you listed on or after 1st October? Or was the item listed before that? Because if it's the latter, it could have been the previous month's promo that applied.

  • If anyone wants to check their eBay Plus membership status, expiry, etc.
then, after you have logged into eBay.com.au ,
paste this URL into your browser
    https://www.ebay.com.au/ebayplus/

  • If I list using the 5 * 0% variable fees offer will it work or should i wait, on my selling hub the offer has popped up I am just worried if it is for Pre-Loved fashion only. Thanks for your help.

    • +1

You need to accept / activate the deal first,
before you're eligible for the 0% FVF offer.

To be sure, click on the "My eBay Summary" link at the top,
and that should tell you which promotions are active for your account.

  • it doesn't work even it's October already. I clicked accept and nothing shows in the promotion page

    • It doesn't show but you get $25 off your fvf. I made a sale today.

      • Is it $25 or is it 0%?

        Was your sale over $180?

        • $25, my sale was $380 and I paid $26 in fees.

          • @happydragon: Okay, so it looks like the same offer from last month then with the $25 cap.

After using up the 3x $25 offers, I wonder if we still get the 5x 0% offer (the one above which expires 31 Dec)

  • Quick question, I have sold an item today but the buyer decided to change his mind and I have refunded him, will this be counted as one of the variable fee discount out of 3?

    • +1

From my past experience, it’d unfortunately count with refund. Other case that I had, I accepted buyer offer but he changed his mind before paying and asked me to cancel. The later didn’t count as there were no payment yet

    • It will count as a used promo. I've had this happen once and I said that I can send the item or charge them a cancellation fee. They agreed to a cancellation fee and I deducted that from their refund. You shouldn't lose out because a buyer changed their mind, and you were under no obligation to accept the cancellation

  • Click accept and I get sent to a page saying "You've already accepted the offer
Up to $25 off Variable Fees on Eligible Listings*"

    Classic eBay bait and switch

  • +2

Received the official ebay email after 10 this morning:

Sell up to 3 items at 0% variable fees*
List your items on eBay before 31 October 2023 and you'll pay 0% variable fees* on your next 3 sales (to a discount of up to $25, per sale).

Decent eBay promos are drying up 🙁

  • +1

I received an email about this from eBay and they are so annoying now it’s 0% but capped at $25. I think the run of good deals has come to end. When you accept and it shows $25 off its accurate

Here is what is the disclaimer

Sell up to 3 items at 0% variable fees*
List your items on eBay before 31 October 2023 and you'll pay 0% variable fees* on your next 3 sales (to a discount of up to $25, per sale).

    Proof here

    https://ibb.co/q5YsY6S

    • +4

same here, still not appearing on selling overview though (after accepting), which is unusual

      • +2

If you have their email, that's enough written proof.

        • Yeah it’s a joke now, I made some good coin from the last deals but just sucks now

      • Yeah, same. I don't want to start selling until I can see it in Seller Hub Overview because I'd like to avoid a headache with eBay support.

I didn't get the email, but that's probably because I have marketing comms off. Is the link in the email the same one as what OP posted?

        • +1

Yeah same link I think fee free is finished

  • eBAY can go screw themselves… really dont see how anyone wants to use them anymore over Amazon etc…

    • Because amazon is (profanity) terrible to sell used goods on?

  • same as before, up to $25

  • In my eBay app > Selling, there is an option to accept the offer which still says 0%, no cap, after accepted the offer, offer is still about up to $25 off.
Also received an email says 0% fee but up to $25 off EACH SALE. After accepted the offer, same as above.
Very much confused, what is ebay doing with those promotions??

    • +1

There’s not much to be confused about the terms are clear now it’s just marketing to get you interested until you read the fine print. I guarantee eBay would be missing out a heap with how many of us took advantage of the proper 0 fees deals

  • -3

And….. ebay changes it last minute. ($25 cap) Good work down voting numptys….

  • Technically from $22.73

  • +3

$25 only. Classic eBay bait and switch.

    • Is it really a bait and switch when they never advertised it until what it is now/today?
Someone stumbled across it before the deal was actually meant to be found.

  • +2

    $25 for me. Signed up today. T & C's don't mention $25 btw…

  • +3

Still not on seller dashboard, ebay support doesn't have a clue.

    • Just a random question. Do you contact ebay support via Chat?

I have been unable to contact ebay support via Chat for months and keep getting this error "Sorry, I'm having trouble connecting you with an agent. Please try again later."

      • +1

same issue here, im on call

        • Oh, my… I thought it is me only. This is weird, did they stop the chat support for AU market? or it is just few of us impacted? Damn.

  • +6

Some people need to lay off the deal / OP. As of right now, the T&C's still don't mention anything about the $25 limit, where last month's deal T&C's explicitly mentioned the $25 limit.

    Sept Deal T&C's
    Oct Deal T&C's

Direct your anger towards eBay, who are shoddy at best with these deals. If you don't like the diminished value of the deals, vote with your wallet and cancel your eBay Plus account. Mine expires later this month, so that's what I'm doing.

    • yeah the terms dont match, even the email says you will pay 0.33c fixed fee….which terms say is 0.30c :/

      • +2

Yeah well eBay are rubbish. They’ve been running these deals for 12 consecutive months now and they still manage to screw it up.

      • The 33c fee is for store subscribers 😂😂😂

        They’re so dumb 🤦🏼‍♂️

    • You can't rely on eBay T&Cs for their promos. Their staff are either too lazy to proof read or have very poor reading/writing skills. And half the time time, the T&Cs are broken links…

    • Your links/months are the wrong way around and you're linking to October "promo page" instead of the full T&Cs like you did with the other one.

      September T&C
      https://pages.ebay.com.au/q33sellplus3fvf/

      October T&C
      https://pages.ebay.com.au/q34sellplus3fvf/

$25 is mentioned in both T&Cs.

  • +2

I'd prefer if they just made it a 5% flat fee for ebay plus sales. $25 is not enough for the pricier items.

    • +1

I'd prefer they just made this an actual advertised and perpetual benefit/perk of eBay Plus so we wouldn't have to stuff around with these bloody promos every month.

  • +1
    • The promotion runs from 10:00 (AEDT) on 1 October 2023 and will be available for a limited time only, for as long as it is advertised on the eBay.com.au site (“Promotion Period”).

“as long as it is advertised” as if it was a good deal to begin with haha

  • +2

I've got a banner on my Selling page:

"Sell to fund your holiday shopping.
List your items by 31 Oct and pay 0% fees on 3 sales."

But it leads to that same terms page to accept the offer, which then says $25 off. Although, the fact it's advertised on my account tells me there should be a fix soon.

    • +1

I doubt there will be a fix. The $25 cap is already confirmed in their promo email
