You can try… just temper your level of expectations of results… Siri is the personal assistant that was dropped on it's head at birth… and has never recovered.
- I used to be able to say "Hey Siri… play BBC World Service" and it would play the live stream of…. BBC World Service. Nice.
- Then after a couple of months, the same command triggered instead… a recent 5-minute news-wrap-up from BBC World Service News. Not what I wanted… but hey, whatever… it's still telling what's happening in the world right now.
- Now the same exact command… starts playing some BBC podcast from the previous week… with ads in the pre-roll… ie: I ask Siri to do a thing… and then ads start playing.
Siri can and does manage to play ABC Radio Melbourne when asked without any mishaps. Even does it to "Homegroup" throughout the house. That's what's so frustrating about Siri…. when it's good… it's VERY VERY good… but the very next thing you ask it to do… it's like it's horribly hung over and can't remember what its name is, who you are, and what "kitchen lights" are.
For me the classic test and highlighting of differences between the two is one time while watching a movie I pause to ask Siri "How old is Keanu Reeves?"
Siri came back with "Keanu Reeves is an American-born actor who's starred in many hit movies. I found more information on the web… would you like me to send the link to your iPhone"Hey Google… How old is Keanu Reeves?

Bad. It doesn’t have Bluetooth connectivity, it only works via AirPlay.

buy the grey one, leave the store. Head into another store and swap for the color you want. Have done this on a few occasions with different items.

No reports of Apple releasing different versions of the Homepod mini, only the Homepod. I'm surprised there's two different part numbers and barcodes, can't see why they could be technically different.

I think it will work if you give them any other postcodes to get the Homepod mini price matched. Then in the price-matched link, you can put in your address and have it delivered to your place.

Just got mine delivered, for anyone that has issues setting it up (e.g. 7003 error) it's likely due to old software. Mine shipped with 14.3 and because I have advanced data protection on, it fails on setup.
Workaround for me was to plug it into a MacBook and "restore" the latest software to it. Assume it would be the same for PC with iTunes installed.

I bought 2 during this deal (thanks OP!) but I think they're going back tomorrow.
I've spent the last 2 nights trying to get them connected and working with HomeKit. I had some trouble setting up the one i ordered as well - turns out I needed to connect it to my macbook and manually update the firmware since the factory firmware did not seem to support this!
Just checked - don't have iCloud Advanced Data Protection enabled.
I'd already connected both to my Macbook to update their firmwares - still no luck in getting them to connect reliably.
Odd… so far mine have been great, operating on the main VLAN. Maybe you got some defective ones? Otherwise if you have some fancy access points like unifi APs, you can see more detailed wifi stats to see what's going on.

years ago when I first got a HomePod, my connectivity issues were related to my router (had a el cheapo tp link setup). Now that I've got a decent Asus mesh setup it's been smooth sailing.
Not defending Apple here! but maybe its to do with something on that front.

Yeah I saw the deal was OOS but had an old tab opened. Bought one from OW but ended up price matching at JB live chat to get white and blue.
Have to say I'm pretty disappointed with mine.
Have two of these now connected with an Apple TV and there is some bug where the volume and sound is inconsistent.
