Nokia 8210 4G $79 + Delivery ($0 with eBay Plus or C&C) @ Bing Lee eBay or In-Store

1850

Kicking around and needing a phone for a badly behaved child (so knocking them back to to the "punishment" phone) and stumbled across the Nokia 8210 4G for pretty cheap. (I know it's not really a Nokia and there are cheaper "smart phones" out there, but I wanted something painful to use.)

Sale is apparently for 7 days?? (But I dont know when it technically stated??)

Blue (10 available at time of posting) SOLD OUT
Sand (4 available at time of posting) SOLD OUT
Red, for some reason isnt on special. Still shows @ $97… (Maybe that is the special price??)

Also available on the Bing Lee website for Click and Collect
Blue SOLD OUT
Sand SOLD OUT
Red (it is $97, down from $117)

I also had an eBay plus $5 code that bought the price down to $74… I am not sure if any of the other codes work… most of them seem to be "Over $100…." codes.

I hope my children learn their lesson after having to use this phone…

Hope the nails are good quality

    • I use scissors for mine. You're odd.

  • I am guessing most kids would like to have this phone as punishment.

  • Nice brick!

I often delete FB, Instagram etc. from my phone time to time, but I reinstall it just because I could. I would definitely buy this if I didn't have to receive alerts/alarms from work on Apps that might not work on this phone. Looking forward to a Smartphone OS that doesn't support those time-waster apps - anyone, any suggetions???

There are quite a few options out there. Just Google it. Here is one to get you started https://www.thelightphone.com

      • Wow, never knew that was a thing. Thanks for sharing.

I asked my son to set the passcode for parental control on my phone and pay him $5 every time I need extension for FB. Too embarrassed to ask for his permission so it works lol

    This or pixel 8 Pro?

    • As if you need to even ask

      This.

      Wait for the 9 pro.

  • Why live in the current world when you can go back 20 years to the dial up era…

    • We had HFC 20 years ago.

  • Snake charmer has entered the chat….

  • Holy hell. What year is it?

  • I would seriously consider one of these for work if i could get WhatsApp on it so i dont have to enter 50+ numbers on my personal phone…bit hard to tell who everyone is atm with no names poping up on a lot of them in the group chat

    • +1

It's a shame because a few of the earlier Nokia phones had WhatsApp built in, like the 8110 banana and apparently the 2720 flip

  • can i run ms authenticator on these?

Rofl i cant believe this has happened to someone else. I was looking for a nokia 3 days ago. Even a seniors phone to embarrass her.

lol, back to Waltons Mountain you go.

  • I need a re release of the Nokia E62!

  • why do people still buy phones from the 90s? I thought these phones were used for burner phones, for people that need to dispose of a phone quicky after use so they don't get tracked.

    • +2

These aren't phones from the 90s. They are 'feature' phones trading on 90s/early 2000s nostalgia through their exterior design.

People buy them because, despite the name, they lack features.

  • do you really have to text using the 9 digits?or is the screen a touch screen?

    • +5

Oh, no touch screen on this one… it’s all tactile input… going to watch my kids die a little inside every time they get a message they want to reply to… 😂🤣

I was a pro at the T9 dictionary. My dad would dictate and I would type. Had to keep it to under 1message because he was charged per message.

      • +1

It will encourage them to develop their verbal communication skills.

I thought it is free. $79 yet too expensive.

  • Red is faster so costs more..

  • I’ve got a few questions.

    1) These have week long battery life right?

    2) Also, what about the equivalent of Find My Phone/Friend capabilities. I know it doesn’t have iOS or Android but could I use a website with maps to track the phone? Can I see where this phone is at any time from a different or remote location? I’m thinking about getting this for the grandchildren and grandparents.

    3) Most importantly, does this have Snake?

  • -4

    Absolutely pointless

Thanks. Bought 4 for the family

  • Thanks but I prefer something much more modern (and $20 cheaper): https://www.amazon.com.au/NOKIA-110-4G-TA-1549-Purple/dp/B0C…

Why do people buy this when you can buy a second-hand android phone for a similar price?

    • Nostalgia and to try and deal with smartphone addiction.

  • Was it $29 or $39 befoe?

  • I had a phone that looked the same as this back in the day. Back when the smaller the phone the cooler it was. Not Zoolander small, but small nine the less.

Now trucking an iPhone 12 mini.

  • Wish iPhone never existed so everyone still on Nokia so they don’t look at their phones when they cross the road. It’s becoming a norm and a safety issue

  • Oh. Those $79 ones are all gone. I realise that I am not an ozbargainer who buys before thinking.

  • Child abuse is never going to end well!

  • We ended up going with the Nokia 110 4G 1.7" Feature Phone - Midnight Blue 1GF018NPE1L01 from the same seller on eBay because it was slightly cheaper. Neither phone appears to be sold out as of yet
