    Not offical apple refurb right?

How does warranty work with this? Personally I wouldn't take anything without manufacturer (Apple) warranty.

    • +1

Yeah. Why I wouldn’t touch it.

    • +2

Yeah especially for the price, this is absolutely not a bargain, dunno how this got 27 upvotes! They must be smoking some serious crack.

If you’re going to buy used, heaps of 16” M1 MBPs in mint condition around the $1900 mark on eBay auctions or FB marketplace and the 16” comes with a higher spec

    • JB are advertising 1 year manufacturer's warranty with this one. may be worth the difference to some

    • The 14 and 16 inch models are available with exactly the same specs at the top end, the 14 just offers one model below what is available on the 16s.

    • Any links? Can't see any at that price.

so gross, if display models the battery running 12-24 hours a day and always on charge / never turned off would be shot. don't do it

    • Reckon it's mostly coming from corporate. I was shocked when I learned it's sold off to some wholesaler for throwaway price after 2-3 years.

    • Macs will hold charging around about 80% if constantly connected to power.

      • The last couple of OSes would simply use electricity instead of battery, bypassing it entirely once it learnt your plugging in habits!

    This or 15 pro max?

    • Neither - get a desktop with over 8gb of ram.

  • I bought renewed one 3 months ago from jbhifi for $1889, extended warray cost me another $189, total $2087

It had 62 cycle count when bought
    Manufacturer Warranty 1 year
    Jbhifi voluntary warranty 2 years
Extended warranty for extra 3 years, so it's warranty lasts till mid of 2028 now

    • How was the max capacity?

  • 100

  • How well is windows running on M1 processors?

    • apple have their own 'windows', no need for the any other.

        Not a fan of macos

  • wow they are still trying to sell M1 pros I thought they were all sold i am amazing how much stock they seem to have of these

  • I got this exact model from Apple refurb about 9 months ago for almost the same price. I have worked at JB in the past and there's no way in hell I'd touch a used from a big box retailer vs an Apple refurb. Things were returned and resold close to sticker price that I found very surprising/unethical
