      • Yep that's the one. Had 2 of them and they both stuffed up in no times. Spoke to the repairers and they said heaps of people had the same issues that I did.

Damn, my husband loves it so far but we don't use it very often, maybe once every 2 months. I'll bet it fails right after the warranty again lol

      • Damn, thats the blower i have had for 2 years now. Also have a line trimmer and the edger thats always discounted on Amazon. Have had a 5ah and 2.5ah battery since then too, and its all still working great. I just bought another $3k worth of mower and multi tool (double up on edger and power head but i wanted the pole saw and hedge trimmer, and the rotocut) on oct 1st to cash in on the ego promo and the recent total tools insider points offer (battery freebies from ego have already arrived which is nice). I havent had any issues with any of it, and it better stay that way after sinking so much in to the ego ecosystem. Was intending to spend my total tools points on the ego worklight and 400w pure sine wave inverter that is due to release soon

I think it's mostly the 7.5 and higher that have issues. If you're getting those batteries, I would just use one so if it dies within the warranty and you can get a replacement. I'm spewing that I'm out for 2 of them. But not sure how the battery would fare either sitting on a shelf. One things for sure is that they don't stand behind the quality of their batteries 🙄

    • That sounds like a lot of coin… Glad I missed out on those "deals".

    Guess I'll be "that fanboi"…
Had an Ego mower for 4 years - absolutely no issues. Also have the combi-tool with several different attachments, again no issues. I've just added a chainsaw to the mix. Still running the original 5ah and 2.5ah batteries that came with the mower and combi-tool, no issues with them either.

But, if you're a bit of a lawn lover, just be mindful that their decks don't drop too low (mine only goes to 28mm) which means you can't scarify your lawn. Other than that, absolutely no complaints, and I don't miss dealing with petrol gardening equipment.

    • Another 'fanboi' here.

I've had 2 ego mowers and the line trimmer. Bought my first ego mower back in 2014 from Masters. It was only replaced because it was dropped while moving houses.

      Never had an issue.

However.. the line trimmer's build quality feels very cheap. Compared to a similarly priced honda trimmer, the Ego one feels like a plastic toy.

  • I have a similar model and I paid for this price 6 yeas ago. inflation is crazy

    Shipping to 4108, 5ks from their store… $120.

Edit: sorry FrugalFreddy, not meaning to crap on your post.

  • Reckon anyone else will price match it? Delivery is a killer.

IM DEBATING AN BATTERYPOWERED, MOWER OR PETROL MOWER TO REPLACE MY OLD VICTA ??

OR MAYBE EVEN A ROBO-LAWN MOWER BOT ..

    • Omg wow really?

  • The hedge trimmer kit isn't a bad deal for $279 delivered. Sydney Tools and Total Tools have them for $319. They may price match, may not?

    • Bugger. I just bought that kit from TT 2 weeks ago. Got completely stuffed around by them as well and still hasn't been delivered.. D'oh.

  • I had battery issues with a 3 year old 5ah battery. Watched a YouTube video where you bang it though and it started working again

    Have been happy otherwise

    • You banged your battery?

      • There was a spark between them.

Dare I ask which end was positive?

      • Knocked it up

Absolutely brilliant mowers, so much better than my old petrol in every respect. Bought the wipper snipper and blower too. The EGO units are awesome. Had mine for 2 years so far, nil issues, love it.

  • Poor quality stupid heavy outrageous shipping overhyped waste of money. “Deal” fail.

    • Yep. They aren't what they are made out to be. Lots of common problems and bad designs component wise.

  • why would anyone buy a brand called EGO?

    • Your silly choice to live there.

    $227 delivery for me.

The price is still cheaper than anywhere else.

Probably better to just wait for the Xmas deals where the mowers come packaged with blowers with gifts like batteries and whipper snippers to be redeemed based on amount spent.

Bought and ego mower , ego blower and ego line trimmer a year or so ago . All on sale , very happy with them , work well. Replaced a 10 year old Bosch cordless mower. Love electric tools

    • Warranty on mower: 5 years (not bad)
    • Battery and charger: 3 years. (meh)

Similar to Ryobi, but Ryobi offers 6 years on the mower if you register the product (not including battery and charger, fixed at 3 years).

But.. I have a Ryobi 36V cordless mower, and the 6AH battery it came with died after 12 months. Because the battery was part of a kit, I got a brand new mower - the whole kit. Apart from the hassle of returning a fully working mower to Bunnings, I won't complain about receiving a brand new mower! This is why IMHO the kits are worth getting.

  • I bought the 52cmbut found it was way too big for my lawn, hard to turn and just too big. I also wanted to get my 10 year old to start mowing. My parents found the same with the 52cm one.

Swapped it out for the 42cm self propelled and it’s amazing. Perfect size !

  • Tools warehouse has this mower for $599. Maybe can get a price match or price beat from a local retailer.
