This with shipping comes to $49. I'd rather buy the Logitech Touch K400 (Logitech direct) for $49 delivered! -

      Agreed.

Much better and you can actually type on it! - Yes, I own one and use it for my HTPC.

      • But it's not a compact one.

        • Exactly. This one is about the same size as my phone. Comparing it to a full-size keyboard is apples to oranges.

I have this model and I've been pretty happy with it. The Lenovo N5901 or N5902 might also be worth considering.

    • this was my experience regarding the K400

Those whom have it, did you guys find similar?

      • My K400 has no such issues on my HTPC. I think it is great.

      • I have a similar issue…
If I don't press the button in the centre, then I have to press the button a lot harder to ensure it clicks.

I have a couple of othere issues with the K400:
Sometimes the software slows down and the mouse movements are quite delayed. Most of the time it's fine, this just happens occasionally.
I don't know if this is bad software or I just built a poor HTPC.

Also there are areas of the touchpad which are more responsive than others, so if I move my finger across at a steady pace, at a certain point the mouse cursor jumps further than expected.
Kind of like: steady, steady, steady, big movement, steady, steady.
It's not the worst issue, but when you're trying to get the cursor onto a small button it can be infuriating.

Maybe I got a dud, I should take it back to officeworks and swap it for another.

    • Re the k400: Officeworks has it for $49.95 if you're impatient. MegaBuy has it for $44.95 delivered.

the price seems excessive for a mini wireless keyboard and mouse keyboard.
there's plenty of other variant for about $25 with the shipping included.
do a quick search on ebay and you will find plenty.
Some of them are silghtly bigger than this so the keys are not so tiny.

im at work so ebay doesn't work for me. Otherwise, could have easily provide a link.

  • I got this keyboard about 2 years ago for this price.. is handy for my arcade cabinet, but not really a super price IMO.

  • Can you use this on Xbox?

  • Am I the only one here still wondering what a headless box is o_O

    • It usually means no display, keyboard or mouse. Not really appropriate in this case as you would still be using this with some sort of display (eg. TV). A headless box you usually manage remotely using SSH, VNC, etc.

      • I see… Thanks for that!

  • What's the 3 in 1? Keyboard, trackpad, ?

    • Laser pointer. So useful for those times when you, erm, need to point at things with a tiny, tiny torch.

  • If you're keen you might want to punch 'wireless keyboard' into a few of the Chinese free-ship sites. I'm pretty sure I've seen the same keyboard (under different brands) selling for $39.95 shipped.

  • You can get the bluetooth version for $33 shipped from Meritline. I think BT would be better on power/battery.

    • I was considering that when I purchased this before but then I read jared444's comment:

"I have the bluetooth version of this. It's a great keyboard but the wireless distance is incredibly poor. It can only reach about 2 metres and if anything is in the way, even a cardboard sheet, a lot of interference will occur. I've tried different receivers… no dice."

No issues with the range on the wireless one. I can't compare battery life but it probably wouldn't be too different as this goes into sleep quite quickly when not in use (I just press the Fn key and it wakes up immediately).
