There are many views on software support, but I think this version will get all the support of need unlike old gen.

Only buy Tech on features it has now, not what it MIGHT get. :D

Owners of previous ticwatch models got lied to and absolutely shafted with support. I definitely wouldnt recommend this brand at this price, you can almost get a flagship watch for this

Turns out Wear OS 3 is worse than the previous version. Probably did us a favour by not upgrading.

There is absolutely zero to base that on.

If you want support you have to go Samsung if you absolutely must have Wear OS. I think it's either 4 or 5 years that Sammy have committed to. Compared to zero from Mobvoi.

And it's not just Mobvoi who are to blame, Google are seemingly doing all they can to kill Wear OS (removal of Google Assistant, bullshit exclusivity deals with Samsung, ten years to get a GMail app on there, are some examples).

Please don't anyone buy this thinking it will retain its full functionality for more than a year or so.

I wish they could learn how to build wearOS looking at Apple as a starting point. Android has done so much better but for watch they are light years behind.

      • Same with tablet OS

My Previous Ticwatch died when i went in the spa with it. It seems its a thing, not sure if its fixed in the newer version but my Samsug watch has been fine in it.

No support for ticwatch 3 ultra as well…still on webos version from 2021. Stay away from this mob….

As others have said, Mobvoi's history of updating their watch software is not great. So dont count on the watch getting WearOS 4, expect that it will stay on WearOS 3.5.

That being said, based on its current spec, it is one of the best WearOS watches you can buy right now. The Snapdragon W5+ chip is a gamechanger. The OS is buttery smooth and incredibly quick. Battery life is astonishing, it will comfortably do over 3 days with heavy usage. I tend to give it a 15min charge while I shower every morning and that keeps my battery between 30-60%. Screen is excellent and it has all the usual health tracking sensors available on all the other flagships. I hated the OEM silicone band so I replaced it.

The only other WearOS watch I would consider right now would be the Pixel Watch 2 as it too is going to come with a W5 chip. But not a fan of the very small screen size. I much prefer the bigger screen on the Ticwatch Pro 5.

  • I have an original TicWatch Pro and in the many years I've had it, it has never gone wrong.

Sure it doesn't have enough RAM but disabling the useless bloatware apps I never used fixed that.

Sure I could never get the backlight to stay on long enough, no matter what third party app I installed that claimed to do exactly so.

Sure it claims to have a remote call function where you can make/take calls on the watch itself but the processor is way too slow to actually do so.

However, even after many, many, many violent attempts to smash it by throwing it at walls, slamming my wrist down on benches & solid walls (to justify buying a new watch), it refuses to die.

If I hadn't been given a Garmin watch for my birthday (total waste of money), I'd still be using it.

The TicWatch did almost everything I needed in a "smart" watch & I have a feeling ill be stuck with it for many years.

  • How do you get the $26 voucher?

  • Put your money elsewhere. Not worth the hassle.

  • Been rocking my Ticwatch 5 for about 3 months now and love it. They patched a few things lately like the vibration alerts and stuff. No complaints. I don't expect the world from it but at least I don't have to charge it every day. I got the sandstone one. Looks pretty good.
