  • Can you pair 2 of these at once to the same ps5?

    • I think you can only have one connected by the dongle and the other connected via the 3.5 Jack in the controller

      • +1

        Yep only one via wireless

  • Will this work with ps4? Ah it does.

Woudnt reccomend if comfort is a priority

    • How about the sound quality? I haven't found any headphones that i could wear for hrs anyway.

      • +1

Quality is average, i ended up buying another pair after 1 year because the quality was annoying me

if you dont find them comfy nothing will be

I recommend SteelSeries headphones (e.g. Arctis or Nova series), the cloth band suspension system makes for very comfortable wearing. No pain at all (unlike my old Astro A40) and I forget I'm wearing them after a few minutes — I'm using the Arctis 7P+ for both my PS5 and my Windows PC.

I refuse to buy any headphones with a traditional clamping system now, this is the way.

I've read this a lot. Also annoying that the PS5 requires a wireless adapter.

For what its worth to anyone I returned this headset after trialing it for about a week on my PS5 and would recommend against buying even at this price point. I am surprised being a genuine Sony product at just how basic the overall build quality is! Very cheap feeling plastic and ear padding and the fact it still needs the dongle even on PS5 is a bit behind the times IMO. I also have an XBOX series X and my Razer headset connects to it without a dongle at all no problem. Main reason for return though is just how bad the quality of this headset feels. I ended up going with a HyperX Cloud Flight headset from Harris Tech that I picked up for $139, it also uses a dongle but the build and sound quality is far superior.

just need the usb dongle for this(lost mine)… damn Sony doesn't sell afaik .

    • +1

A massive problem with all Sony PS headphones. It's unbelievable they don't sell the dongles seperately.

  • Tempting but isn’t a new one releasing later this year? Hoping for a better mic

I hate how I can’t use my XM4s even though they’re made by the same company. Im using my XM4s for everything except for the thing that’s made by the same company.

    • Can't you connect to BT via your TV? Not sure how the lip sync will be though.

      • I’ll have to figure out how to Bluetooth it, im playing it on my monitor which is also connected to my pc. It’s kinda of frustrating, when I want to switch from speakers to headset on my ps5 but am I unable to, whereas it is as simple as a click of a button to do it on the pc.

This is to do with the latency. Xm designed for sounds quality and latency is important when playing games.

      • yea i understand, i don't really play competitive games on ps5, i don't know the specifics of it, but i've been using it to play story based games casual games on pc and it was fine. I reckon maybe the bluetooth connector on ps5 isn't as advanced or something, i'm not sure, but i would be happy having the option to chill and connect the xm4 to my ps5 and play casual games

One of your option is to get a corded headphone and connect to wireless controller.

    These are very really strange.
I’d say they’re for kids, as the earpads have no depth, except that the headband is massive.

Don’t recommend these at any price.

    • Might be a Sony thing, I had to get replacement pads for my XM4 because the originals are too shallow for my ears.

      • Yeah, I have both. The Pulse are definitely worse… but I barely use my XM4’s due to them also being too shallow.

Which pads did you get? I tried the Wicked Cushions but found the inner hole was a bit small. Then tried the thick Dekoni suedes, but they were comically deep.

Thinking of trying the thinner Dekoni platinums…

        • Dekoni suede, they're perfect for me.

    • I seem to vaguely recall reading that these were designed to be used with PSVR, hence big headbands to go over the PSVR headband?

  • I've used these since the PS5 launch without issue. I like the dongle as I can just swap it between PS5/PC without having to reconnect anything. Build quality is a lot better than the old PS4 Gold headsets.

    • I'm still rocking the PS4 Golds from 2014. They're still a-ok, apart from the fact that the earpads have been replaced 2x, the headband pleather, once, and the battery, once.

      How does it compare, aurally?

I was hoping to buy one of these when I finally get tired of refurbishing the PS4 Golds, but some of the feedback regarding the aural quality as well as the fit has me concerned and now thinking about a different unit.

      • Honestly I didn't notice a huge amount of difference aside from obviously the 3D audio.
The main improvement was build quality, the headband broke twice on me due to wear and tear on the Golds while the Pulse so far hasn't had one issue thankfully (makes it harder to justify replacing!).

Thanks for the feed back! Much appreciated!

  • This is showing as $119.95 for me.

      Party is over

      • Surprisingly quicker than expected.

  • +4

    Most uncomfortable headset I’ve used.

In the middle of being on ear and over ear headphones and never fit right.

Sound was worse than a RIG pair that is half the price too.

  • So I've never owned these but anytime my friend that owns these joins the vc I have to ready myself for the constant echo of my own voice, shit is annoying af

  • Can I use them on a Mac for zoom meetings?

  • +1

I have this headset and it’s horrible. Went the big upgrade to Turtle Beach Stealth Pro and never looked back.

  • +3

As everyone seems to hate theirs, for a bit of balance, I’m pretty happy with mine for the price.

Do these also have a mic built in? Any recommendations for a 10yr old who wants headset for PS5?
