Please follow the steps

Step 1. Create an Indian Apple ID at appleid.apple.com/en-in . You go to "Create your apple ID" You enter your first and last name, India, date of birth, an email that you have not used before for Apple, and your Australian phone number, change the prefix to Australia (as they will send you confirmation codes) .

Step 2. Go to Amazon Australia to your account and add an Indian address.

Name: Your name and surname
Street: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Int'l Airport Rd
City: Mumbai
State/Province/Region: Maharashtra
Postal Code: 400099
Phone Number: 1234567890

Step 3. (Incognito mode recommended) Buy an apple store card on Amazon India. You log in with your Amazon account. Write the desired amount (999 rupees for Apple TV+, which is what the annual cost is). You click to pay by card and write your full name and your card (Revolut it's recommended, but any card should work).

Step 4. They will send you a code by email to the email you have in your Amazon account. Now download the Apple Music app (both IOS and Android). You log in with the email you created in step 1.
You go to the settings (top right over the 3 dots). Click "Account" and then "Redeem gift card or code." Copy and paste the code that was sent to you by email (App Store Code). And you will already have your 999 rupees in your Apple account. Important : Add the Indian address from step 2 with the same details in "Account" - "Payment Information" in the Apple Music app.

Step 5. (Incognito mode recommended) Visit tv.apple.com and log in, click the profile picture at the top right and then click "Settings" . Scroll down to "Subscriptions" and select "Manage". You select the monthly subscription of 99 rupees and click to accept. After completing the monthly subscription, you again go to “Subscriptions” and “Manage” and switch to the annual subscription of Rs 999 which is cheaper than going month to month.
Although VPN India might not be required, in case it doesn't direct you to apple tv India, switch your VPN ON to India.

All content will be the same as Apple TV Plus AU. No VPN will be required to watch.

    All looks good, seems to be working on my end. Only difference to the above steps was that when I went to sign up to Apple TV under my new icloud account that I created, it recognised that I hadn't used the 7 day free trial previously for Apple TV, so hence I signed up for the 7 days, and then changed subcription method to annual, so I assume in 7 days time it will roll into an annual subscription and use my account balance of 999INR. So really, 1 year and 7 day subscription for $20 odd AUD, awesome deal!

      Most likely the VPN it's not required. It's only if you stack at step 5 and apple tv india doesn't come up, that's when you might need it.

        or no price. you can find deals for 2-3 month codes and also with purchase of suitable apple device (tv / phone/ ipad etc..) you get 3 month voucher as well… So if you time it right, you may not need to pay much.

    Wouldn't it be better to use a random address?

    If everyone on here, Chollometro, MyDealz, etc. are using the same address then aren't we just making it super easy for Apple to identify accounts for termination?

        No issues with registering the account using a random address, but it did force me on a 7 day trial (was that supposed to happen?) so I have to wait a week for confirmation that the charge for 1 year goes through from my Apple ID balance.

    Anybody getting the issue with needing a UPI ID in step 5?

    When I try to sign up for the free trial it says I need to put in a valid payment method with the only option being the UPI. I already have the gift card balance added and the address set in apple music

        Found a way. This may work for you or not, but it worked for me. I just put random initials before '@paytm' for the UPI id. For example, Coffee@paytm, Ozb@paytm, Rm@paytm etc. Hope this helps.

    Note that some of you might get the issue with needing a UPI ID in step 5. This is because you're trying to directly activate the 7-day trial. If you follow the instructions on this post, you won't face that issue.

    I had issue with the Android Apple Music map so used the iTunes app on my PC to redeem the gift coupon. Otherwise same process. I think I needed the VPN to subscribe to AppleTV+. It threw an error on my first attempt before I turned it on.

    Thanks OP. About 20 bucks for year. Process is not that hard. I had amazon IN account, bought 999Rs gift card, downloaded Music app on android, created new apple account and logged into app, redeemed code in app, logged into apple tv on pc, went to settings and subscribed.

    mmm, I got all the way to the Apple TV site and now it is asking me for a payment method and the only options are to select UPI as the payment type and enter a UPI code. No idea what UPI is.

      Assuming you redeemed code and already entered address in music app. Now Ignore upi and go to profile in top right corner, settings, scroll down and subscribe. Try on PC browser.

          Use code in music app first. It will ask you for address then enter one. This will save billing information. Once you redeemed it then open apple tv in pc browser. This time you can skip UPI and won’t log you out. Same thing happened to me. It kept logging me out till I redeemed code and added billing information in Music app.
