  • Nice!

Hard to choose between 3060ti, 4060, 7600 graphicx!

    • RTX 3060 Ti still outperforms the rest!

      • -2

It barely outperforms the 7600 lol

        • +1

It still outperforms the 7600 by approximately 5-10%

  • -8

This is a pretty poor value build with poor component selection and OP hasn't even selected the cheapest option for each item on the provided PC part picker list for comparison.

    • +2

The PC Part picker prices are the cheapest for each component. We do not use stores that do not actually have stock for comparison (e.g ships from partners warehouse).

With regards to poor components, can you please let us know which components you are referring to? We use quality components in all our builds.

This price is also significantly less than if you were to try build a similar PC yourself.

The fact of the matter is intel (especially 13th gen) is more expensive. Whether its justified or not is another debate but this is the cheapest intel 13th gen deal to ever have been posted on ozbargain.

      • -6

You've listed $599 for the 3060ti, the cheapest for the linked model is $499, the case, HDD and SSD all have cheaper options too.

As for component choice, DDR4 is MUCH slower than DDR5 for 13th gen and you can get better boards and RAM cheaper, also a 1TB HDD???

        • +7
          • The case is only cheaper at JW by $6 but is not in stock at JW and is drop shipped from suppliers
          • The HDD is the cheapest from anyone that actually has stock
          • The SSD is only cheaper by $4 at JW, but once again, they do not have stock and it is drop shipped from suppliers
          • The cheapest 3060 Ti you can buy that actually has stock is for $529, we have thuis adjusted the price down to $529. Nobody is selling a 3060 Ti for $499

Even if we did include the companies who did not hold stock and only drop shipped, it would only reduce the price by $10.

This is still way cheaper than you can build by yourself

            • +5

@dmouse81: As mentioned before, we do not compare prices with companies who do not actually have stock on hand. The fact of the matter is JW do not have stock on hand.

With regards to your companion to techfast, our PCs are of significantly better quality and thus cost more. We do not compete with techfast.

              • Our CPU is significantly better
              • B660 vs B450 motherboard
                • We have Gen 4 PCIE they have Gen 3
                • We have multiple m.2 slots they only have one
                • we have 4 dimm slots, they only have 2
                • We can fit PCIE wifi cards in, they can't
                • We have proper VRM cooling, we don't even know what motherboard techfast are using, so we don't know if the components are quality or if they are cooled properly
                • We are using high quality ram that can overclock up to 4400Mhz out of the box, we don't know what RAM they are using but historically they have used high latency RAM that impact performance heavily on Ryzen builds
              • What PSU are they using? We don't know so we can't gauge the quality
              • Gen 3 SSD vs Gen 4

The differences go on but the facts are our build uses higher quality components, with great build quality. There are people who only care about $/FPS but there are also people who want quality components they know will last. Our target market is the latter.

              • +3

@enigmapc: tbh, how you're handling this conversation is making me consider buying. haha. kudos to you mate! I may reach out if ever I decide to build a PC(may not be this one)

                • @yeahboo: Appreciate it mate! Let us know if you ever need any help speccing out your PC!

              • +1

@enigmapc: Thank you for explaining the parts selection and differences.

Sure, there are some better quality components in your build, I wouldn't call either the Deepcool case or Gigabyte PSU you're using "quality" though, more like good enough for the price.

You're still not addressing either the use of DDR4 or a HDD in your build though. Sure it's fast DDR4 and a decent HDD but considering you can get a 2TB Gen 4 NVME for the same price as the HDD you've included or a 1TB Gen 4 NVME for around half the price, a comparable DDR5 motherboard and kit of DDR5 6000 for the same price as the DDR4 ones you've used in your build while gaining performance from going with DDR5

                • @dmouse81: All our parts are high quality. Ourt PCs use higher quality parts than any of our ozbargain competitors. There is always a better and higher quality part, but they cost more. If you are happy to pay the extra cost we can always upgrade your parts.

The HDD in our build is due to a deal we have with out suppliers. Removing the drive will not reduce the price. Its added in free of charge to make the deal better.

I understand a 1TB gen 4 drive would be better, but that's not the deal we got so it's not the deal we can sell. If you would like a 1TB SSD, you can upgrade your SSD in our configurator.

With regards to DDR4 vs DDR5, we provided DDR4 as it is cheaper. DDR5 is slightly better but you get better value with DDR4. We have put in a high performance kit in this PC so people who want to overclock can. We got a great price on these kits so it would not save money going to a cheaper kit.

Furthermore DDR4 is still more stable than DDR5.

We have sold DDR5 deals in the past and we will sell them in the future, but this is a DDR4 deal. This PC is still going to outperform other PCs in its price category regardless if they are DDR5 or DDR4. If you can find a cheaper PC with better performance elsewhere and similar quality parts, please link it.

That is not stated anywhere in your OP and the HDD was included in your PC part picker list for comparison, so it's being compared to what else is available.

With regards to DDR4 vs DDR5, we provided DDR4 as it is cheaper.

Not when compared to the motherboard and RAM kit you've included in your build. Particularly if we take your earlier comments around JW computers in to account when you've selected them for the price comparison on the RAM even though it's not in stock

We have put in a high performance kit in this PC so people who want to overclock can.

So what speed will it be running at out of the box? 4400 is already pushing it pretty high, and I doubt anyone would get it much further on a B series board and non-K CPU

Furthermore DDR4 is still more stable than DDR5.

Do you have evidence to back that up? Early BIOS revisions for both Intel and AMD platforms had issues, but both have stabilised DDR5 for quite a while now

                    • +1

@dmouse81: Just because we have not explained our internal costings to you does not mean we are not providing a good deal. You seem determined to just find an issue with our deal.

We have provided these parts at a great price that you cannot beat and that is cheaper than if you built it yourself.

The RAM will be clocked to 3200Mhz by default as this provides the most stability out of the box. The kit is capable of doing more if the user wants to. At our price point, this kit is cheaper than other kits. Removing it will not reduce the price.

With regards to our DDR5 comment, we have experienced this ourselves through the hundreds of DDR5 PCs we have built, tested and shipped. Every board is different and every kit of RAM is different. Our experience thus far has been DDR4 is still more stable than DDR5. Recent Kits of DDR5 have had a significant improvement in stability, but DDR4 is super stable and has been proven over years.

We won't be responding to you in this thread any further.

Just because we have not explained our internal costings to you does not mean we are not providing a good deal.

I'm not asking you to, just to be consistent when you're comparing to what else is available. First you say you won't compare against JW unless they have it in stock but then you do it anyway with the RAM kit.

You seem determined to just find an issue with our deal.

The main issue is that this isn't a great build because of the choice of components. Sure it's CHEAP for what it is, but that doesn't make it good value and it's only cheap because you're getting deals from suppliers to get rid of those components

We have provided these parts at a great price that you cannot beat and that is cheaper than if you built it yourself.

Yes you have, for the chosen components I can't build it cheaper.

Every board is different and every kit of RAM is different.

                        Yep, that's why QVL's exist

@enigmapc: I bought mine yesterday, got it customized too :) Just wondering how long shipping generally takes Standard to Victoria.

I'd not go anywhere near gigabyte PSU after their infamous incident

    • +1

Although we can understand the concern with historical events, we have shipped thousands of this particular model and haven't had any issues. This is model is great for price to performance!

      • +2

I still think that you should try get a unit from a manufacturer with a better track record and not GigaByte.

        • +3

We have added in an option to get a 750W Corsair PSU in the customiser!

    • I don't understand the cause for concern. They have since identified and rectified the issue. As long as what's being sold is NOT the affected units, it doesn't matter to me. PS: I would actually want to buy theirs as I can be sure the issues are NOT present in newer models and units.

    • +1

What incident happened with gigabyte? I have been avoiding them since a dodgy motherboard a few years ago and they're on my blacklist since haha

      • +1

Gigabyte had specific models of power supplies fail (and some exploded). They have replaced all the units that were affected but we still do not hold stock of any units that were affected (despite the issue being fixed).

We have tested this PSU model and we have been using them for a long time without any issues.

  • +1

Wouldn't this with AM5 be better value? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/805583

    • +1

We have a better GPU, better CPU, better RAM, better PSU and better motherboard. That deal is cheaper, but with our deal you are getting more performance, newer parts (expect the GPU, but our GPU is still faster) and higher quality parts too.

You can't really compare the parts as its a cheaper PC with lower quality components that does not compete performance wise.

      • I mean when you add AM5 in their configurator. Obviously R5 5500 vs 13400f isn't fair.

        • +1

          Sorry I misread that part.

When you add AM5 the build jumps to over $1300 and it still performs worse than our build and then you still have a worse PSU, worse motherboard, worse, SSD, worse airflow for cooling components.

That build will cost more and get you less performance and worse parts.

          • @enigmapc: Similar price to this system with the discount code but I overlooked those components. Only real issue is the use of GigaByte power supply here so I recommend trying to get supply of a PSU from a manufacturer that doesn't have a track record of exploding.

            • +1

@iPodVideo: The model we use does not have any such issues, despite this we have provided a corsair upgrade option for customer who prefer not to use Gigabyte PSUs.

              • @enigmapc: Yeah that's fine. Just a general distrust of Gigabyte power supplies.

  • Good deal but a few questionable component choices. And stingy upgrade prices. Like no one would pay 120 bucks for 16gb ddr4 ram
    Otherwise all good

  • Will this Motherboard and GPU leave a PCI 16 slot available?

    • Yes it will

  • Are you able to install an unactivatenWindows 11 Home?

Also can we pick up during weekend? Thanks.

    • Unfortunately we are unable to install unactivated windows. We are open for pickup Monday to Friday, 10AM to 5PM

  • I can't seem to find the section to enter the coupon code on the checkout page. Can someone let me know where it is located?
Thank you very much in advance.

    • Add your item to cart, press checkout, on the checkout page where you have to pay the discount code text box will be on the right hand side underneath the items in your cart, if you are on mobile scroll down to the bottom of the page, the discount code box will be under the order summary section.

If you still can't find it let me know :)
