  • its a VA and not IPS , still worth it? Any experts pls comment.

    • Same question!

There is IPS curved for this price point. The fight between IPS and VA are useless in this territory.

Even so, I prefer VA over IPS. The black levels on IPS are really bad. I can't see why pay 2-3 times this price for the same size monitor

    • +7

      VA has better black level.

IPS actually has usable response times that aren't a smearing mess.

    • The best screens are VA. If you ever play games or movies at night, you'll get much better contrast. No competition

Even if OLED panels didn't exist, this statement would still be untrue. Nothing matches OLED for contrast, but between VA, IPS and TN, they all have positives and negatives. Just depends on your values and use case.

The better contrast is ruined by seeing all the smearing and ghosting

    • i have a massive issue with black smearing on dell sw3422dwg
      wish i got an ips

    • Got curve VA, sold it and replaced with Flat IPS.
      IPS
      Pro:
No smearing!!! not just gaming, even web surfing/moving mouse got it.
      better colour to my eyes
      much better viewing angle
      Cons:
      VA has much better black
none of them is perfect, i prefer IPS.

    • VA is fine for most games but you will get ghosting in some. I've got the Dell 34inch 2k Ultra wide.

    • No problem at all. After switching from IPS to VA panel, I indeed prefer the color look on VA. Disclaimer: my work doesn’t require 100% color accuracy.

    Most curved montiors are VA

    • I have the weird combination. An IPS curved one and a VA flat panel..

      • I’ve got a VA flat 27 for general usage and it’s fine

Depends on what you need it do

        • I find it decent enough for office work (4k 32" 60Hz) - better contrast than the IPS one. But for gaming and videos I prefer the TV since it's 120Hz and OLED. Waiting for OLED monitors to come down a little in price.

  • you could get similar 3 years ago for ~400

I could also get a back of chips on sale for less than $2. 3 years ago was a very long time ago.

      • a back of chips?

        • +4

*bag. My back is what hurts due to all the weight I've put on from eating chips.

      • luckily I have my tv I’ll just pray this shitshow ends at some point

  • How does this compare to Dell S3422DWG or Gigabyte G34WQC-A
