    It feels like we've just added more keypad clicks and swipes vs what was meant to be quick tap 'n go.

    I'd have thought scanning a single QR code (unique from the the POS device for the specific transaction would be the ideal).

    Meh… I see these Shopback signs on so many restaurants nowadays. Tried to use it at a few restaurants and none of the cashiers had any idea how it works, ended up just paying by card after trying to explain it to them to no avail. Not sure if it's better adapted by restaurants recently, not that keen to try it after all that.

      I agree that the system is pretty damn clunky but I've used it at a few places and I've yet to have that problem.

    Is this the BS where you need to go back to the restaurant for another transaction within a certain timeframe to qualify for the cashback? So misleading on Shopback's front.

      Reading the steps I think it just takes a deduction from the cost before payment.

      I got caught out by this a couple of times. I had not idea that you needed to go back again and eat at the same restaurant to get the cashback from the first visit. And I went out of my way to go to them thinking that they were good deals. Never again.

    This shopback in store is a bit of a scam.

    I have done this on 3 businesses expecting cashback, but you only get cashback if you return to the business within a few months and purchase again. Otherwise you lose your cashback.

      If you visit this place often (each few months) - no issue
      If don't - buy something like coffee take away before leaving this place. Main transaction will be confirmed immediately.

    Question on this promo - is there a minimum spend?

    If I spend $4 will I get a 100% cashback on it? Doesn’t seem to be stated in the T&Cs that I can see.

    I think this is a targeted offer. Was at a store, scanned the QR code and that brought me to a screen with the $5 promo but when I clicked on it, nothing happened. Then I saw there was a sentence in the promo saying this is for selected users only.

    Would be great if @gotyourback could confirm this.

      Hey mate, definitely not a targeted offer, provided you scan the QR at a participating venue and select "apply voucher" at the checkout, the $5 discount should apply to the purchase amount you've entered.     I just tried this. Yes, after you enter in the full amount at the confirmation screen, you need to click on "apply voucher" in the checkout screen where it shows a $5 deduction from the total. So I guess anything <$5 are free.

    The way I recommend is to first scan the QR at the counter, put in what you'll spend then go to checkout screen and see the promo works. Then you swipe and pay once you've ordered.
