  • I can't see any banner/form. Has the deal ended?

    • Just checked form is still live, access via a Samsung EPP store.

      • Dont have eep :( do u know id govt site is doing the offer too

        • gov site and edu portal. you have to go to home appliances > bespoke refrigerator to see the banner. i think they email the codes on friday.

      • Is ur one needing a water line?

        • This one needs a water line, i had it installed for $225 +gst (Melbourne).
Remember to get a water pressure limiter valve. This is can be a source of issue for alot of plumbed fridges.

      • -8

My company's EPP store doesnt have that banner… unobtainable?

        • are you on mobile? i think you have to be on desktop, and visit the bespoke fridge page directly to see the banner.

  • How would one know if they have access to eep or not?

    • +2

      If you know, you know

    • Just Google Samsung EPP store, there is a signup link, use your work email and you may find out that you have access already, like I did today.

  • +22

EPP is employee partner program. You have to work for one of Samsung's partners and gave a work email to access the EEP store!

Maybe just explain EPP stands for. Waste of time.

  • +2

Disappointing the best samsung deals are always behind these walls.

    Mod: Use classifieds

    • +4

      not true

often public website has best deals when you stack all the codes. most of the codes don't apply on EPP or GOV or EDU Samsung stores

      • +3

While i did mostly have the epp/edu stores in mind, I said walls broadly..like 10% off codes if live chat will give it to you, double trade in credit if you were targetted etc.

Its just never simple with Samsung to get the est prices that in turn make all the other "sales" look terrible.

        • how are we supposed to know what did you mean by walls? it was a pink floyd reference with equal probability

isn't that true about life in general? life is full of walls, and it's not just about discounts on a fridge. I am sure there are at least 10 people who upvoted this deal who know ways to save money (and have access to) I have no idea about, and even if I did, I won't have access to, and vice versa

once you know how to get those Samsung codes, most of the time you just get them in advance so when a deal comes you just stack them and check out

  • Is the Samsung shop app called SamsungWA?

Will never buy a Samsung fridge. Know plenty of people who have and they dont last or continue to break down and be very expesive to fix (almost as much as replacing it).

I dont want to Neg the deal because its a bad product. But I would tell people to stay away from it.

    • +4

I know many friends personally who also had issues with Samsung

I just bought a new LG … Working good so far

      • But it has 20 years warranty. It could out live me.

Surely while other parts may break the more important part, cooling is backed by that warranty

        • +5

I believe the term warranty is used very loosely in this instance.

And I'm sure they will argue wear and tear isn't covered.

        • +11

But it has 20 years warranty

          No it doesn't.

The motor has a 20 year warranty.

The rest of the fridge has a 2 year warranty

        • Good luck with a running motor and everything else in pieces, i.e. sensors, all the shelves & built-in containers etc.

          • @Jamesx: You can buy Mitsubishi and get a bad one outside warranty. Or get Samsung and got a good one. Ymmv.

Bottom line is, Mitsubishi maybe 3 times more than this.

      • Our LG fridge is still going strong after 11 years. Some of the internal drawreand shelves have broken or cracked but it's still doing its job.

    • +6

I bought a similar samsung fridge for about $3500 with french doors. Constantly broke, with wmice forming behind the back panel. Had samsung fix it twice, but continued to occur for the life of the fridge. Apparently on my model, it's a common complaint.

I'll never buy a sansung fridge again. I've owned samsung phones over a decade, have their soundbar and monitors - so I'm not against the brand in general. But i keep hearing similar stories to mine about how people will never buy a fridge from them again.

      • Do not buy LG trash. My LG fridge died after 3 years. My old samsung fridge still going after 15 years.

      • +1

This icing issue has been a problem for many years with Samsung fridges, yet they have done nothing to solve it.

        Avoid.

    • +1

I just replaced the seals in my 10ish year old samsung fridge. Thats the only thing that has gone bad in it. I would say they are more hit and miss than they are completely miss.

      • +1

I’m wondering if they’ve lost their quality over the recent years as I’ve had one for 12 years old now that’s never missed a beat.

        • It was just a generation that had issues. They are in the past now.

    • +3

New fridge and the fridge door seal thinner than freezer so doors don't line up …Samsung said not broken and referred me to parts distributor and I could buy seal , this on new fridge, …..have the emails ….never buy Samsung fridge again due to poor customer service …..

    • Sadly have to agree. They make awesome phones & tablets, and I have a couple tvs too, but the fridge was a mistake. Icemaker failed just out of warranty, replaced part oursleves. Failed again ~18 months later. Rear has cracked, assume ice forming as others have had, as leaks water into crisper drawer now. Will replace with a non Samsung.
This is a great deal if you can get 50% off, just rolling the dice on reliability.

      • There were a few models of Samsung fridges with a poor design on the inside, where the evap coils that are meant to heat up the internal ice buildup didn't heat up far enough, so sometimes excess water would sit at the drain hole and eventually freeze, leading to water leaking continuously and building up in / around the bottom of crisper drawers.

Opened the back panel and placed a stainless steel zip tie from the evap coil into the drain hole itself so it transferred the feet into the hole to stop ice the building up and blocking the hole.

Ran fine for another 7 years before eventually something internal went pop and fridge wouldn't power on anymore.

        • I wish i knew this earlier! Samsung came and fixed the ice issue twice, but it kept happening. The ice would get so large behind the back wall of the fridge it would bulge the wall forwards. The only way to melt it was to turn the fridge off for a day and have anout 1-2 litres of that melted ice come out.

They wouldnt fix it a third time, despite it being a known issue.

    • I want to replace our Samsung side by side with plumbed ice and water but it just keeps going. We replaced a heating coil about 8 years ago when it was 5 or so years old otherwise no issues so can't really replace it with something newer looking heh.

    • Yep. Samsung fridges, most of their appliances really, are sh1t. I'll never but any of their stuff again.

LG fridges are really good value.

  • +23

Just don't buy Samsung white goods.
Fridge, washing machine, dryer, just don't.
TV, phones and tablets are fine.

    • +2

Thanks but a little too late, just last week I bought the Samsung washing machine for $349. Haha

To be honest currently using another Samsung washing machine that I bought 12 years ago now. Still going strong.

      • I bought a samsung washing machine while ago. after used 7 years, they were recalled due to the risk of catching fire. So the machine was returned and got full refund. I bought Bosch then. But one of my friends bought another samsung washing machine after being refunded and expected to be recalled after several years. lolll.

  • +7

Don't buy Samsung products. I have had issues with their Fridge, washing machine and TV.

    • My Samsung TV is the best TV I've ever owned. Had it for just under 2 years. My inlaws have multiple Samsung TV's, all over 10 years old. They still work incredibly well. Just needed a Firestick/Chromecast to keep up with modern streaming.

Friends don’t let friends buy Samsung appliances.

Source: my Samsung fridge is an unreliable piece of shit

    • I've got a Samsung French door fridge from 2012 that I bought second hand. No issues

    • We bought a Samsung 8.5kg top load washing machine 8 years ago and it is still going strong.

+1 dont buy samsung fridge, just had to go to the acc to force samsung to do something about a 2 year old fridge that stop getting cold. In the end they ended up refunding us the full amount.

    • +1

Can you please provide more details?

My understanding is that ACCC doesn’t deal directly with consumer disputes - only complaints and fines offender’s accordingly

Fair trading maybe? A mediator who doesn’t have any power to enforce

    • Did you go through a state-specific body?

  • What fridge brand do people recommend?
LG? Bosche? Mitsubishi? What about F&P or Whirlpool ?

    • We got a fancy Mitzibushi 2.5 years ago when we moved into the new house, think we got it at 50% off or something like that. It has been working with nil issues. Our old Whirlpool is now in the garage and still going strong despite being knocked around by tradies so many times when we where doing renovations. A few years back we had a samsung and it stopped working after 3 years and an experience similar to what others that have commented here.

    • +3

It's a crap shoot these days. Brands matter less than the individual models imo. But even so… Most are made in china, Thailand etc and components from all manner of cheap unreliable places. A lot of luck involved. Samsung i would avoid in white goods, i too had bad experience about 6 yrs back.

If i was buying now id probably start by looking at Electrolux, Mitsu Electric, LG, else cheapies Hisense, Haier. But make sure the model has warranty you are happy with for the price, and good reviews across multiple sites.

      • The best fridges are made by GE (General Electric).

        • Can't say I've noticed GE fridges for sale here. Not that I've checked.

          • +1

@Xizor: They used to be sold in Australia back in the 80s, imported from the US.

          • @Xizor: Back in the 80s I believe that GE was one of the few brands in Australia that sold side by side fridges. These were common in the US but rare in Australia at the time.

      • Ah where are the comprehensive fridge benchmark tests reviewers 💁😐

    • F&P are probably one of the best fridge makers.

      • I have one and the French door middle flappy part broke at 3 year, and then broke again at 5-6 years ish.

Then at around 7 year mark, it beeps randomly for a long time. Called technician to repair it, they said it's control board issue and unrepairable.

I think they just don't make these as good as they used to be.

My parents westinghouse still going maybe 40 years old now. Rather loud but.

    • I think you'll find people here give a lot praise to Mitsubishi maybe Hitachi too as they're "Japanese" made. But keep in mind not all their models are. I think in this day and age, most places can manufacture quite well. But as if you see from the anecdotal evidence, Samsung is one to avoid.

I grabbed a mid tier Hitachi (white, ~700L). Practically the same French door version as the Samsung in this post. It came with the vacuum compartment, touch doors and automatic ice maker (not plumbed). Not the best rating at 3.5 stars but I ran it against an energy monitor, and it is running at 0.3c - 0.4c per day on average.

You can grab cheaper for the volume of the fridge, but the Hitachi has this frosted glass that feels nice, like the back of an iPhone 11 pro. Most other fridges came with standard stuff or plumbed drinking feature or a drink window that you can open but I wasn't after that.

      Update:
To add, if I wanted something that just works, I think I'd choose a Fisher & Paykel or Bosch fridge. I"d even look at Chiq, and TCL tbh for more budget friendly options.

  • +7

I'm not sure they've quite understood the meaning of "bespoke".

  • No ice maker

    • Dual auto ice maker in the freezer.

      • Oh my bad but prefer to have it outside more convenient

  • +2

Everyone saying they've had bad experiences with their Samsung's though my Bottom mount fridge has been going strong for 9 years without a single issue, it also happened to be a display model.

    • I am three and a half years in with mine with no issues whatsoever. I also have a family member with the exact same fridge who owned it for 18-24 months before me and also has had no issues. Model SRF717CDBLS

      • Any issues or feeback on the icemaker?

I've had this same model for 2.5 years now and it's making less ice lately and had water in the ice maker recently.

        Common problem apparently.

    • Same. 10yr old Samsung bottom mount fridge and haven’t had a single issue.

    • Yup, Samsung fridge and washing machine here. 8 yrs old and no dramas. Agree with an above poster that brands no longer matter and its mostly all random. Most companies also have mixed reviews with honouring warranties.

    • have a roughly 10 year old (if not 10 years then definitely older) french door samsung fridge and I just replaced the seals on the doors and drawer because it has been rock solid the entire time.

      • My samsung fridge, washing machine and tv still going strong after 10+ years

    • Same here running strong since last 11 years without a single issue so far

    • Same here. Owner of Samsung fridge running for 10 years+ without any issues. Looking at the comments, it looks like older models were more reliable and the newer ones are not. Maybe they're no longer doing quality control like they used to. I've had a similar experience with LG washing machine. My previous LG washing machine lasted 15 years. The new one I bought two years ago is crap

    • Same, 8 years with my fridge. Has been moved by me a couple of times and still ticking along nicely. Was cheap as well.

    • Mine is still going strong after 10 years. Moved twice and never missed a beat. Similarly my LG front loader is going strong after 16 years…

  • Yeah, couple of my family members have had issues with Samsung fridges. They fell in love with the tech and smartness of the fridge, but seems like the "fridge" part of the whole ensemble failed on them pretty quickly.

Typing this from a S22 Ultra, haha.

  • +1

Seems like a decent deal. Energy efficiency isn't too bad either 3.5 stars, 522kWh per year

  • I have a Samsung fridge. 8 years on and still going strong

  • I have a Samsung fridge for 13 years, did one small repairs and going great since

Never ever buy Samsung appliances, they are rubbish. I had one…

I had 3, two fridges and a front loading washing machine, each lasted less then 5 years with repeated breakages and repairs over their lifetime.

  • +5

A lot of chatter around Samsung fridges, for what it's worth most brands have issues, they're all part of a parent group and using the same factories and components.

I've had whirlpool, lg fridges over the years and it's a mixed experience.

Pick a particular model and make your own informed decision.

Can comfirm this model is made in Korea.

    • +1

Funnily enough, my made in Germany Bosch dishwasher has caused me the most dramas out of any appliance I own or have owned. To your point, any appliance can have a bad batch, issues or inherit engineering flaws. Not a Samsung fan boy just own a fridge from them and so far so good.

  • Is there a way to find out which company/gov entity have a Samsung epp ?

  • Lots of generic comments about Samsung fridge above but can someone confirm all these negative comments/feedback apply to this specific model?

  • Absolute hell on earth dealing with Samsung, I'd strongly advise to think twice. Just check the product review website for a glimpse into the kind of experience you'll be up for.

  • OP or someone with access can check the price of this model please: RF65A9770B1/SA

    • That's one helluva fridge.

      Price: $4,376.65

Idk if there are any coupons.
