There's a good article in Choice magazine October 2023; it basically concludes don't bother with anything less than a Roomba, and even the best robot vacs aren't great on carpet.
Now I'm thinking twice about buying one, and maybe I'll just pull out the old barrel vac myself.

I have had a X8 (not hybrid) for about 6 months (paid about $510 from memory) and it works quite well, but we have mostly hardly floors and no pets. It is quite easy to programme and schedule and generally works OK. I usually empty it after every run and it is never empty. I schedule "Room" cleaning - run it 4 days a week and it does the busy areas every time, and the bedrooms once or twice a week. I have a 300m² single story house, so quite big.
It sometimes get confused and the map is a bit misaligned in a room (not the others), but generally navigates quite well. The virtual boundaries and No-Go zones work pretty well - I think twice in 6 months it has managed to cross the boundary for some reason and then gets "stuck" because it can't get back out.
I now sweep the floor - never, and mop maybe every month or so (except the kitchen) because all the loose stuff is picked up so regularly. I got sold on robots when I picked up a Eufy 35c a few years ago for $99 at JB HiFi. It is as dumb as nuts, but still kept the floor remarkably clean, so I upgraded to X8 for better navigation and scheduling. I still use the old 35c for cleaning the bedrooms because the X8 doesn't fit under the low bed bases and the 35c does.
I do like my roborock s5 but unsure for if I should get one of these or something else.
