Decent service. I was using it as a hotspot as well

The coverage is shit rocks at Noble Park here. Especially during the evenings. Dodo dial up 4.4 speeds here. Felix said there's only decent coverage outside here. Anyway moving to Brunswick West in a few months. Anyone live there and can get decent indoor coverage?

    • If you are using it with hotspot, you can buy Huawei B818 + Poynting antenna, this can reach you max speed.

      • I thought I’d read in another Felix deal that they were blocking users that were putting the SIM in devices other than phones?

        • yes correct

    • I've used it in 5+ year old portable hotspot and it stays on 20mbps(max). Optus is complete junk here, at least in my corner of BW I tried again in Pixel 6 and still regularly sit on 2mbps but Vodafone is 100+

Might save someone else a click

    "Powered by Vodafone

    • Thanks.

So how much per month after discount, the cheapest plan…

    • +1

took me a single click to find out, $12.50

  • could a returning customer be eligible for this?

    • Yes, I've just done this.

  • So would the $35 referral for the referee be useable for the 3 months ?

    • No, one or the other.

  • I have a Felix service.. looking in the APP. Can't see how to add a 2rd service.
Even without the promo. Can you have 2 services under same email account

One code at a time only. Either GREEN or referral code. Can't use both. At least I cannot.

I had their Sim and put it in 4g router because the signal in my phone is crap. They sent me a message saying put it back in a phone or account will be suspended so back to crap signal.

    • How can they tell what device it’s in?

      • I suppose if your not sending text or making calls. It was working well and solving my no nbn problem, oh well.

        • I don't think it's that - I think they actually can pick up info about the type of device that is using the SIM. Even if it's not very detailed, like if it just shows - Mobile Phone, Router, Tablet - that level of info would already be sufficient to know that - ok, it's not being used in a mobile phone or tablet.

      • All.mobile.devices send this information to the each mobile network, you can't stop it, if you could, the network won't let you connect.

    • How did you get the txt if was in the router.
I am doing the same. Started 2nd month. Few days ago

      Vodafone has a unlimited 4g or 5g service for $50 to $60

I have had Optus 5g. They are Fxxxing useless

      • How did you get the txt if was in the router.

        lol good question

But maybe he just meant he got notified. Could've been by email and/or app?

        • I went through 150gig 1st month for $17.50
So I would be on the chopping block on Felix for sure.
About to get a 2nd for another location. It would do triple data I'm sure.

Voda has direct advertising the same as a unlimited mobile router setup for approx $50 MTH which is fine. Already have the 4g modems. So ready for switch out if warned

I have 2 Optus 5g routers for last few years and I hate hate hate the fukers.
Just want OUT of Optus but NOT back to NBN

I haven't seen any emails from them.
About to pull the 2nd service on this promo, but want to know if they monitor.

        • I got the following email…
          Hey there,

We’re writing to inform you that we’ve detected unauthorised usage on your felix account. This is in breach of our SFOA and Fair Use Policy.
We request that you immediately cease using your felix SIM in a non-mobile voice device, otherwise your service will be suspended within 7 days.
I joined on the 3 months 50% off deal and it was at the end of 1st month and as I was going overseas for 3 weeks I put the account on hold. After I returned I went to re activate the account but was told it would be $40 and not the $17.50 discount price. She said if I pay the $40 then the next 2 months would be $20 a month which is 50% of the new price. So putting the account on hold was costly because I would no longer get the old $35 a month rate, I never saw any mention of that when I put account on hold.

          • @paulaus:

If you use a promo code with a multi-month discount (e.g. your first three months discounted) and pause before the promo ends, you must pay the full subscription amount to resume your subscription, and then you retain the discount for the remaining months the promo covers.

Felix (Vodafone) networks is crap in my area at work (Burwood) and at home (Liverpool). This plan is very attractive as I am going oversea in December but very hard to live with their bad internet service.
