Boost $230 12-Month SIM Starter Pack (170GB Data if Activated by 27-11-2023) for $173.00 Shipped @ AUDITECH eBay

1050
HGTSAVE

The Boost Mobile 170GB $230 12-month SIM is on for $188 at ebay, which comes down to $173 with coupon HGTSAVE (expires 2-11-2023). If you're doing a multi-buy like me, it can come down to $167.36/card for 4 or more.

Couple this with the ebayplus deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/808968) for free signed shipping. I went with the TopCashBack option so I don't have to pfaff around with ebay gift cards. TopCashBack are offering 3% cashback on ebay purchases, but I don't know if this will track when linked with the HGTSAVE coupon.

There's probably some better deal coming up with Black Friday or something, but my families Woolworths Mobile plans expire 14 November, so it was time to jump for me!

This isn't terrible to be honest. You might look at this at first and think 17GB a month isn't much, but I've come to realise, with me working from home more, I'm not using as much data as I used to. this might be a better option for some than the 260GB/$240-$260 deals

    • Too true. I'm on amaysim's 60GB 12-month plan from last year and have 41.68GB remaining. Looking to move back to boost. Shame they removed the cheaper tier.

      • Same.. Im on Catch Mobile 120GB and still have 95G left expiring Dec.. Really want Boost's Telstra network but the amount of data is excessive..

      • +2

keep an eye out for Amaysim Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals even this year with their new, higher tiers, or on chat ask them for a loyalty deal and see what they come back with if your plan is due to be renewed before then

      • On same Amaysim plan which will expire end of November. Amaysim sent offer via email 28 October to recharge for $90.00 + 50gb more data (110gb in total). Offer expire 25 Nov. Understand more data than required but $90 is okay 365 days. If you did not receive email, as souths123 suggests ask about loyalty deal.

        • Cheers, I did not receive any offers from amaysim. Weighing the benefit of sticking to amaysim or porting out to boost for the Telstra network for an extra 83 bucks.

Good idea to reach out to customer support though, @souths123.

    • I'm in the same boat. My 365 day 140GB sim has almost expired and I've used 54GB.

I’m still in the habit of ripping mp4/3’s for offline viewing/hearing on my phone…I get these large data packs and find I hardly use them for the online usage on phone is utility only. Still in the mindset of ‘avoid using data on phone at all costs’ XD

I look at it more as the cheapest monthly cost to be on the Telstra network - about $14/month. We have NBN at home anyway so our usage is nowhere near 14gb/month, but there are simply no monthly Telstra MVNO's at that level.
The cheapest I've found otherwise is Exetel/Superloop have $16/month for 4gb with discount if you have your NB with them (which I do), but even then it comes down to about $13/month. 4gb/month is probably enough for my wife and kids, but then we go away for a few weeks a year and everyone blows their data budget. 170gb from Boost has us well covered, plus includes access to Telstra 5G network. Boost also includes international calls to about 50 countries - which includes Germany where my wife's family live (and they're not great on whatsapp calls!).

Wife and kids were on Woolworths Mobile $65 / 15gb for 6 months card. They've cut that out now and their lowest tier is $100 for 6 months. They do have a $170 12 month plan with 125gb data. Key benefit for families is 10% off one shop/month. This does tie you to shopping at Woolies for a monthly big shop and Woolies isn't our local. Plus $5/month for international calls.

If 24GB/365 days in enough, then $110 from https://www.konec.com.au/plans

        • Damn! That’s enough for kids. Good find - i’ve never heard of konec.

Too late now, already purchased Boost. 😁

          • +1

@braddsey: They seems to partner with iMoo (kids watch brand). They are Telstra MVNO using wholesale network (i.e. not as good as Boost, but same as Woolworths, Belong, Aldi, etc so you will also get VoLTE, VoWiFI, even Free Roaming Calls/SMS as long as connected to WiFi when overseas.)

        • is that the Konec 365 Day Wearable Plan?
Can it only be used in wearables - or phones as well?

      • +1

FYI, Exetel is changing their lowest tier plan to 7GB/$17 at the end of the month.

  • Not sure if it has been shared before.
Is it applicable for existing Boost customers as well?

    • +3

No, but you can port out and back in.

People have also had mixed success asking the online chat to add it to their existing account, could be that easy, but I wouldn’t count on it.

      • Thanks a bunch.
I will give that a try.

      • I just asked Boost support and no bueno :(

@open4highway could you let me know if you have better luck negotiating with Boost?

        • I tried back in July and was told no go on chat; had to call, had to have a second number for them to complete the process (as they wanted to do it while I was on the phone and the call would drop as the switched the number to the new SIM) and they very much said "we're cool with why you're doing it, but FFS port out and in next time, mkay, please".

          • @BJReplay: Lol fair enough, probably a lot of work for them to do that. Thanks for sharing.

I got a good deal with another Telstra retailer for a year (employee benefit) so will port out and see how it goes next year. I like the international call inclusion with Boost and slightly better coverage.

    • There's plenty of posts for Boost Mobile 12-month Sims. Use the search function, there's a lot of useful info in the older posts.

  • The code seems to be not working.
Could anyone help me with working one?

    • +1

      Ebay + only

      • +2

HGTSAVE worked for me just now, don’t have eBay+

        • Thanks! I also wonder whether it will be cheaper in during Black Friday…..with like 20%/22%
          off. :)

          • +1

@bobokingdom: If the extra 10gb is important to you (unlikely), then waiting until Black Friday would be too late for the extra 10gb from Boost Mobile.
Having said that, if I didn't need new phone plans immediately, I would likely wait for a Black Friday deal. Other than that, the cheaper offers with lower data on Telstra network are all disappearing so strike when you see the offer that suits your budget.

  • I'm on a monthly plan and not familiar with prepaid, how long can I use it for unlimited calls and text? Until the data runs out or for 12 months?

    • yes

    • +1

365 days for calls and sms…data also 365 days or until data allowance used up. If data allowance is consumed before 365 day plan expiry you can still make calls, sms for duration…and if desired can usually buy more data (expensive usually). Oh and if no data then cant send mms like pics etc that use data. Is that what you asked?

  • Sorry for off topic but is there any cheap 12 month esim out there?

I need a temp number to give to real estate agents etc.

    • +1

      Amaysim $10 a year

      • It took some searching but I found the $10 “Pay as you go” option - perfect! Thanks a lot.

  • Do Boost have eSIM?

    • Does Boost have eSIM capability?
Boost doesn't currently have eSIM capability yet. However we are working on it as we know its something our customers are interested in.

      A bit behind in tech.

  • My current 12 month Boost deal sim is expiring. Is there am easy way for me to port in and out with this one?

    • +4

chat to them on the app. say that you've bought a sim card a new 365 day pre-paid but you by accident got the starter version and ask whether they can help you update your account with it. If they say no worries awesome your done, more likely they say no. I then asked them saying something like…. "so what i need to do is port out and then port back in right?"….they then went on a tangent saying i don't and that i could sell my starter sim to a friend or family instead…just came back to them with a "it's ok i don't have anyone to sell too, i'll just have to go the port out route, how long do i need to port out to be eligible?"….after that they buckled and just added the starter to my account.

If that doesn't work you just buy the cheapest sim card starter…they used to have $2 vodafone ones…think they dont do those anymore though so maybe easier to do the cheapest prepaid month with a different provider then port back in afterwards

      • Hey, this was awesome mate! Thanks for writing all that out. Would give you gold if this was reddit. I've ordered one and will follow your script. If that fails, I'll just buy a $2 Telstra sim from Woolies and port out and back in. Thanks again!

  • Looking for recharge voucher. Any deal?

    • +3

Wake up, port out to a $2 sim … then go make coffee & vegemite buttered toast. Drink coffee, eat toast … port back to this 12 month pack.
Phone now has Boost and tummy has vegemite toast. Blood stream surging with caffeine. Ready to crush the day.

      • What $2 SIM did you go to? Interested as it seems they do it fast

I have $5 Lebara SIM but they quote 4 hours to port to them, then I still have to get back to boost.

        • +1

Back in my day we ate veggemite toast and enjoyed it. Things took time. You kids eat avocado on toast and expect everything to happen at a blink of an eye. Then complain cause you can't afford your inner city dwelling. Life takes sacrifices. Maybe try enjoying some Vegemite on toast.

  • This, or wait till black friday?

  • Hmmm
Paid ~$150 for the $200/140gb sim about 10 months ago.
Don't need more gigs, just a cheaper price tag. Guess I'll hold until at least black friday

  • What's the expiry date for these sim?

    • Check the eBay listing.

  • I’m almost buy from oz tech biz… luckily i hold on my breath…

  • Is this only for new customers porting to boost? I still have 105gb of my current 140gb boost which expires on 24 Dec. Do I need to port out for a month then port back to get a good deal? I tried to switch to amaysim last year but the coverage was so bad in my area have to stay with boost for full Telstra network.

    • Nothing to do with new customers, as long as it is a new activation with a new number or port in old number outside of boost then it will work. Not necessary to wait 30 days. Can do the porting with no waiting as long as leave old active sim in phone until shutdown. Or ask nicely by phoning Boost support. Not chat.

      • Thanks. What do you mean no waiting by leaving the old Sim in until shutdown? Just leave the old Sim in so you know when the port away from boost takes effect?

  • Got the Amaysim 180gb deal last black Friday for $100, still got 138gb left. Hoping we get a similar deal this time around.

  • +1

@Auditech Is it possible for you guys to also send a porting sim through if we add it in the comments? Something like what Oz Tech Biz do.

    • This would be a question to ask via ebay as Auditech is the seller… however it's now OOS, so too late!

      • Ah shame. All good, still available at Oz Tech Biz

    • You better ask what exactly a porting sim is.

  • missed the deal..any deal coming up
