Well, we recently had the deal with 20gb data delivered from same seller for $172. Not sure how is this a real deal!

    • So you don't think 150GB more data for $6 is a deal? That does not compute.

      • +3

        I think keissy1 meant this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/801892

Same SIM/data but for $172 just a month ago.

        • -3

177/170: $1.0411 per 1GB. It is not a good deal. Kogan sells 500GB for about the same price.

          • @[Deactivated]: Different network coverage but

            • -6

@Datatemp: Always Usual excuse which does not do justify the big price/data ratio.

              • @[Deactivated]: Bro, full telstra network covers more than TWICE the surface area of Australia than Vodafone and Optus. Gigantic difference

    • Link?

    • You can still get similar deal 173$, different seller though.

If you are already on Boost, you CANNOT port your existing number to this sim card.

If I'm already with Boost is it as simple as porting out with a $2 sim and then instantly porting back in?

    • +3

      Hi
      You are right.
Your porting can only be successful if same id details are used for porting out and back in.
If you are buying a sim please leave us a message and we will send a sim for porting as well.
      Thanks

        Hi,
I’m with Boost at the moment and I’m thinking about ordering one with a sim for porting too.
Can you please advise how long I need to wait for after porting out?
        Thanks

        • +1

          Hi
There is no restriction of days that after how many days you can port back in?
          Thanks

      • You will send a porting Sim for free?

      • Nice. Order placed and requested a porting sim

      • plan to buy 2 sims, need to port out and back, where do I leave msg to get the sim for porting?

      • Ordered one and requested a porting sim. Thanks

      • Hi,
I’ve ordered a sim. Where do I request a sim for porting?
        Thank you.

          Hi,
Can you PM us your order number?
          Thanks

      • Hi
Just asking what port out sims are you sending ? Is it $2 sim or something with value. I guess $2 sim needs some activation amount /recharge as well?
I used to buy these sims and recharge with boost but not any more. They said they cannot do over the chat anymore and have to call them, calling them and pretending that you accidently bought this sim instead of recharge voucher are no good story as you have to speak to a human rather than chatting.
I am looking to buy a boost sim for activating in January.
        Thanks.

    • Don't you need to be out of their network for a minimum of 30 days before they allow you to port back in?

      • I was out for 6 days and ported back in.

      • +2

I ported to a $2 Telstra SIM for only 30 minutes lol. All went smoothly.

        • when ported to $2 telstra sim, do you have to add credit to it for it to successfully porting to telstra or from telstra to port back?

      • @madreece @Techie4066 thanks. Good to know.

    • You can try call boost first. I was on boost and my sim was expiring, i bought another boost sim, called them up and they were able to port it for me. But they kept saying im not supposed to do this and that they were making a one off exception. I just played dumb and said i didn't know

      • I used to play dumb on the chat and have done this many times. Whole family member on boost and always played dumb. I was even able to roll over left over data and international call minutes (Which i really used, Zone 2 ) from them. They have stopped doing this via chat. As per them, this service now have changed to phone only. Now you have to call them and play dumb. They will tell this is the last time for such transfer.

Can I use this to recharge or it's not possible?

    • +1

It literally says that this is not a recharge voucher

      • It worked for me last year with the help of chat agent

        • Same here, I've used these sim cards now for 3 years in a row for both mine and my wife's plans.. it's simply just a matter of hopping onto chat, telling them you want to move your current number to the new sim and it's usually done within 30 minutes or so.

          • +2

@bassmaniac69: They are bit strict these days so we as a seller we can not recommend this.
            Thanks

            • @oztechtraders: Yes, they don't do this over chat anymore. They would want us to call them.

        • No more chat agents will help. You will need to call them,.

    • We don't think so .Porting out and porting back in would work.
      Thanks

  • What delivery service is used for the free postage?

    • +1

      Australia post standard delivery.
      Thanks

      • -6

What is that Australia post standard delivery? Can i assume it's snail mail? as you charge extra for mail with tracking for $5.5. Your postage options look dodge.

My plan is finishing in December what’s the cheapest way to get a RECHARGE VOUCHER

    • +1

Recharges rarely have discounts attached. Best option is to port to another carrier for a bit then port back on a discounted boost sim.

      • -1

        Ah Thanks Champ

        • +1

@WwDesi You can port into a $2 sim without needing too add any data or anything on it. Another person here said they ported too $2 telstra sim and then after 30 mins ported to Boost

  • +1

    Hi,
Usually recharge vouchers don't come with these kind of offers. You can consider porting.
    Thanks

  • Hi,

I’m looking to join Boost for the first time from Vodafone so I can hopefully get decent reception. 😁

After the 12 months is up with this SIM and credit, what are the recharge options? (Besides porting out and in).

I can’t seem to find their recharge options on the site. Only shows new SIM options.

    Thanks.

    • Hi,
you can recharge that online or through the Boost app as well or you can buy from any participating retailers or super markets too.
      Thanks

      • Do you know what the recharge amount options are?
        Thanks.

        • +1

All denominations of sim cards Boost selling have the recharge vouchers.
          Thanks

  • Should the recipient sign upon delivery?

    • +2

      Only if they know Auslan.

  • is showing 502 error

    • Hi @BennyBoy13
Thank you for pointing that out. It was too much traffic on our webserver. Has been sorted.
      Have a good day.

  • Any offer on recharge

  • sorry you will hardly find offer on recharges from Telcos.
    Thanks

  • I'm new to this, but it dosent say anywhere that calls and SMS within Australia are included.
Is it just me or is this only for international usage from Australia?

  • Good Morning,
its included. (Very good eye on attention to details) just has been updated. We did miss that at the first place.
    Thanks

  • May be a naive question but what happens if this is activated after 27th Nov? Data inclusion may change??

    • +1

      Hi,
The standard data on this $230 Boost sim is 160GB +(10GB Bonus if activated before 27-11-2023).Worst case scenario is if Boot will not extend this Bonus data after 27-11-2023(which normally they do as per their previous offers) Then customers will only receive 160GB standard data.
      Thanks

  • Hi OP, I'm with boost and understand this is for new customers online. How long do I need to port out for before i can port back in?

    • Like same day/ a few hours.

As long as you successfully port out, the service starts working, then you can instantly request to port back onto Boost. Usually only do it on weekdays, YMMV on weekends.

  • couple of days should do but there is no specific timing for that.
    Thanks

  • Thanks OP, bought 2, just in time for my coles prepaid expiring next week, good timing.

  • They need to get rid of the "new customer" out of the blurb, it is irrelevant and misleading for customers and boost staff. I took this up initially with chat as I was already a boost customer with my current Boost ID app. Was I going to be able to activate and also get the promotional extra 10GB data. Chat said "new customers" meant this promotion was for newly activated Sim cards. Then emailed Boost HG suggesting that they get rid of the wording "new customer" as it was confusing and they were probably loosing existing Boost customers who wanted another Sim. The community manager replied saying as I was an existing Boost customer I wouldn't get the promotional 10GB data. So I activated my starter pack Sim online with a new number and got the extra 10GB. Informed the Boost community manager who apologised for the confusion. She explained that I got the extra data because it was a new activation. "I'll raise it to the team since it might be worth noting new activations instead of new customers to avoid confusion"

    • It's pretty obvious what a new customers means in the context of a sim card. Not that many people running multiple Boost sims either.

  • thanks for the deal - how much are the recharges? any deals on them? or is it always worth porting :)

  • Showing out of stock now. OP, do you have any left?

    • Will update soon.
      Thanks

  • My current yearly plan won't expire till May next year, so I can still buy this now, keep it and activate next year since it said sim expiry date is 2025, right?

    • Hi,
Yes, you can activate the sim at anytime before the expiry date.
      Thanks

      • you get less data if activate after 27nov?

        • Looks like it. You'd get 160gb. From the description up top…

Boost $230 Prepaid SIM Starter Kit 160gb+10gb Bonus (170 GB Data) (Activate before 27-11-2023)

  • Is this different plan compare to this one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/808997 ?

    • It's the same plan.

  • OW Pricebeat anyone?

    • I did it yesterday with $178 offer from Lucky Mobile, got 2 cards for $169.10. No issues at all.

      • Lucky mobile deal is $180?

        • Was $178 at the time of the price beat.

  • Thanks OP, bought one.

  • Hello @oztechtraders OP, Placed an order now but missed to write I need a porting sim card, sent you an email - Thanks.

    • Hi,
      Thank you for the email.
      We will get to it.

  • Is it possible to port out to Belong, or even Telstra direct, from Boost?
And then port back in again in say a month to make use of these discount "Starter" packs?
