120

This is the first time ever that I have seen Domestos at half price. I'm a big fan of the brand, and I use this mainly for my toilet…

    • I find this the most effective and long lasting bleach in the market. I tried Private label once as I was driven by the price, but it was not as good and I didn't like the fragrance, so I came back to Domestos.

The Aldi one is really good.

I think this is the thick one. It pours out like a syrup rather than the usual liquid you get with coles or aldi. The increased viscosity means it lingers and has more chance to work its magic

  • It was half price at WW a few weeks ago - bought a few. I agree it is good, but honestly the Aldi one is just as good and almost identical packaging. The Aldi one is normally much cheaper than Domestos.

What are the other uses? It's tinted, right? so can't be used to bleach stains.

I use it for my toilet, bath and toilet brush. In the kitchen I use it for my bin, cupboards and drain. But it's a multipurpose bleach, so I would think you can use it in many other areas.

      • Thank you, Danielanovag1.

      Good for stinky sink drains

  • What's the ozbargain advice on getting rid of water stains in the toilet bowl?

    • these are the instructions I found in their website: 1. Squirt Domestos thick bleach up into the rim of the toilet and let it run down the sides of the toilet bowl. 2. Give Domestos around ten minutes to sit in the toilet bowl and get to work on any stains and germs. 3. Scrub any lingering toilet stains with a toilet brush before flushing to finish.
      hope this is useful!

Thanks! my usual way is to apply the bleach and put a tissue paper on top so the bleach sticks to the trouble spots.

Still have the persistent stains, so seeing if others have other ways!

        • for hard water stains above the water line, plastic toilet brushes do nothing. disposable glove + steel wool soap pads from woolies/coles (not the scourers) and scrub.

do a couple of flush checks as bowl will turn pink from the soap, flip the glove inside out around the pad once you're done to prevent dripping everywhere and dispose in the bin.

For water stains you need an acid

      • Thanks, I'll give this a shot!

Or if you’re brave a splash of pool acid does a quick and easy job. Fumes can be pretty wild if you have a lot of scale buildup.

          • @DingoBlue: Yeesh. Better hope you don't have terracotta/iron drain pipes anywhere down the line
