the Xbox Series X console will be increasing in price from $749 AUD to $799 AUD, putting it in line with the increase that the PlayStation 5 saw last year. The price increase will take effect in Aussie stores starting from August 1st.

Yeah, Black Friday is going to decide if I buy a new XBOX or if I give up on the ecosystem once my XBOX One dies.
With game pass, you don't need to give up the ecosystem, even you give up on the console, just go to pc.
@John Doh: Well I went to Lenovo Legion (Gaming PC) cost me $2000+, and not as strong as XSX (but stronger than XSS), but at least I can use it for worked too, and claim it on tax return ^_^
Also I connect it to my TV for bigger screen, but I know my solution not for everyone
@esandjay: Yeah, can't really be bothered - like the big screen when playing on the TV, but I can find other (better, maybe) ways to use my time. Hardly been using it recently waiting for the new Forza, as they promised that the new version could stream to the old boxes, but that was a complete lie if you use a wheel rather than a controller. So I think we're near the end of the road.
@esandjay: Absolutely no doubt, but I don't think the effort to make it happen is worth the result, TBH. I'm sure it will be for a lot of people, though.

@nuttapillar: Through super funds membership. But don't bother, https://shop.redeemyourgiftcard.com.au seems to be out of action for last 2 weeks. Cannot buy gift cards, saying "site is being updated, we'll be back soon" when attempting to buy. Not sure what's going on there.
Is a slim version coming soon like ps5? Any rumours?
Not until the end of 2024 though. Also, I don't think we will get the disc drive with the slim model.
