  • Thanks, bought one!

  • +1

Great price, great units. Wish they had a deal for 120w

  • +1

Bought one in the last deal and it doesn't seem to fast charge my P7 Pro, but still pretty awesome with an easy click and retractable (very little red button) to swap the power adaptors.
Worth it if you are travelling for sure.

    • +3

P7 Pro is capped at 23W for wired charging anyway. Are you just looking for the words 'fast charging' when you plug it in.

Fast wired charging rates (up to 20W on Pixel 7 and up to 23W on Pixel 7 Pro)
https://g.co/pixel/specs (click on Pixel 7 Pro, and then scroll down to Notes 6.)

      • Ahh yes, is that some kind of naming convention on the phone?? I am at work and get the fast charging name down the bottom of the phone but not when I use this particular charger at home or the 120watt Zyron one as well.

        • Are you using the included type C to C cable that came with the phone? This travel adapter supports PD3.0 for the C ports so it can definitely do it.

Make sure to test it when no other devices are connected too.

        • Maybe return it..
Should say 'charging rapidly' on the phone like the stock chargers.

    • +9

Good insight, it only says that 12 times in the deal post, not counting the title or tags.

      • +3

There's not enough negs for all the pointless 'GaN Charger' comments they make

      • the sarcasm is strong with this one

    • +2

      Where does it say that…

    • *GaN 3 Charger

    • +1

So what is the point of your comment? It already has GaN in the title, and is tagged appropriately under GaN Charger

      • +1

He says it repeatedly in every deal. Seems to think GaN is a brand and a bad thing.

        • Gan gan gan gan..
          You love it haha

      • Holding for gan 4

This is the new Eneloop for OZB. You gotta catch em all…..

  • +1

Is Zyron a good brand for chargers? I've been wanting a travel adaptor replacement for my Heymix one after hearing sketchy things about them.

Very few of these types of chargers around.

    • +1

      one of the better brands
      Cactus approved

      • +2

Interesting how fast they have gone from "who the (profanity) is this? guaranteed fire hazard" to Ozbargain darling.

      • Who is cactus and what kinda qualifications does he/she have to approve chargers? Genuinely curious.

    • +3

I’ve got a lot of these chargers. They’re sold from local sellers which means they need all the AU certifications. It’s good.

      • That's good to know! Picked one up.

      • +1

local sellers which means they need all the AU certifications

I reckon 90% of the cheap chargers out there have bogus SAA certifications. They get 1 product certified and then re-use the same one for dozens of other products.

    • +2

It seems to be, as Gdsanp also mentioned, SmoothCactus likes them, although their comment here does have some caution: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14476292/redir

Not sure if Zyron sources different models from different suppliers, and so quality may not be directly comparable between models?

    • +1

I've got 3 of their chargers. 1 out of 3 ports failed on one after the 1 year mark and I emailed them and they sent me a new one free of charge.

No other issues and I use them regularly

  • What are good 100W+ options (from this or other brands)?

  • -2

    Ia this a GaN?

    • Yes, I think it's also USB

  • Does it come with 4 or 3 socket heads?
First picture shows 4, bottom shows 3 (without the US plug)

    • +1

The US head is permanently attached to the charger with a foldable plug design.

When you need to use any of the other 3 travel adapters, you fold it inwards and attach the head.

      • thank you, that explains it!!

  • Why does it say "2x 67W/65W USB C Ports and 1x 18W USB C Port,"

    • Because both usb ports can provide 67/65 watt

    • +1

      Typo on the Amazon Listing.

      Should be:

      1x 18W USB A Port

  • +1

Looks exactly like a re-badged HEYMIX.

  • +1

I have their PowerPod 100W, it is unreliable. Sometimes I woke up with my iPhone uncharged but appeared as charging. It also broke my apple watch charger, not sure if faulty charger itself or because of Zyron charger. Overall it becomes so unreliable that I can't use it anymore. Beware.

    • What's it been like dealing with customer support?

      • -1

I didnt contact their customer support. I should.

      • Easiest sticking with sold and shipped by Amazon.

    • Yep the HEYMIX version is just as unreliable.

  • I got one of their GaN chargers two years ago and used it exclusively for about a year travelling. One of the USB C ports no longer works but the other two are fine.

    • +1

What model? What warranty? Expectations of a reasonable consumer?

If applicable, what's it like dealing with customer support?

      • +3

        interrogation intensifies

        • +1

All relevant details which have been omitted when complaining about a product.

I've had reputable products develop faults. I wouldn't hold it against the brand especially if it's resolved quickly and easily.

      • +1

        https://zyrontech.com.au/products/powerpod-66w-gan-charger?v…

I'd say there's a very high chance something goes wrong within a year or two. That being said, wasn't many options for this level of portability travelling. Never tried dealing with support. Hope that helps.

        • +1

          Thanks! Definitely helps.

That one has a 2 year warranty on it - may be worthwhile contacting them, especially if the issue occurred in the warranty period or you're just outside of it. I am not sure how ACL would apply to the product.

          • +1

@ihfree: Thanks mate! Had no idea, definitely will. It's been just under two years.

    • +1

Same thing happened to me and I contacted them and they sent me a new one. This was just after 1 year of owning it though

  • My laptop battcery is a 71Wh. Do I need a charger >71Wh to charge it?

    • Assuming your laptop charges via USB-C, look at the supplied charger and as a general rule buy with with the same or more wattage.

      • The included laptop is a 230W charger, but it has 2 USB-C 3.2 gen 2 with PD 3.0 so I guess it can charge via USB-C

Its very confusing to know which one is compatible. They did not mentioned it in the specs

        • +1

Best to look up the make/model of your laptop and see what power input it can accept from the user guide/manual.

        • That's a powerful charger at 230w.
I have a lenovo carbon extreme that does not charge via the USB C port except with 100w. 45/65w chargers don't even show as charging. Share a 100w charger with a USB A 18w port and the lenovo drops off.

Now using an LG Gram that takes 45w and above. Even my xps15 dells took 45w and wasn't as finicky as the lenovo

          • @Pesty: Lenovo is what I have as well. Thanks for sharing your experience.

    • +2

It’s a new product. The old power pods looked more rounded but weren’t GaN 3

  • I received sun shades for car instead of charger o_O

    • Are you sure that is the Zyron package…? lol

      • Yeah, pretty sure. I didnt order anything else. Also my zyron package was marked as delivered.
        But refund went smooth.

  • Got one, arrived quickly, nice quality case and travel power adaptors I like how these ones have a safety latch so the adaptor can’t slide off when travelling. It’s very compact if you are just travelling with the one adaptor too. Tested charging my Lenovo Ideapad which charges on 65W. Unit gets hotish but not so hot that I can’t pick it up. So maybe 30C haven’t checked with thermo. Very happy with it also ordered the larger one.
