So wait till feb before activating if you already have a free membership?

    • +8

You don't have to wait. Was discussed in the uber eats x mastercard deal. Activate it and it will just start when your free membership ends.

      • Just activated and yes it added on! Sweet

        • And did you cancel the membership straight away? Or would you wait until the 6 free months kick in?

  • +2

awesome timing, thanks op. my current free Uber One was expiring on 11th Nov.
I just redeemed this and now its showing "6 months free from Mastercard starts on 11 Nov, 2023", so if you already have a membership it should add itself onto your expiry date.

  • +1

Have the Paypal one pending as starting on the 18th of Feb and it wouldnt let me start this until that one has started. So hopefully itll let me afterwards

    • +1

Same. I'm currently on the Paypal deal and I have the Mastercard offer pending from mid Feb so this wouldn't activate.

    • +8

It definitely should let you stack both. At least did a month ago when I stacked paypal and this yello mastercard deal.

This is what I see on my Uber One page.

      Try this link

      https://t.uber.com/Yello

      • +2

Currently have it via my Citi card i think. The Paypal one doesnt start until Feb. It wont let me have this one pending as well

    • +1

      Same. Won't let me stack.

  • +2
    • +1

No, it’s adding on top of that

      • That link specifically has 'yello' in the link just like this deal.

        Same expiry date too lol

      • Verified this, got back to back free membership from the two deals stacked for a year it seems, my previous one from CommBank had expired couple of months ago. Thanks for pointing this out 🙃

        • What does it say in your uber one for this deal?

          PayPal

6 months free trial thanks to PayPal until xyz

          Mastercard

6 months free from Mastercard starts on xyz

          Yello

          ?

          • @CodeXD: This is word for word:

'6 months free from Mastercard starts on 23 Mar, 2024'

            UBER ONE

'6 months free thanks to Mastercard until 23 Mar, 2024'

  • Woot, starts march 2024 lol

  • So the new CommBank Yello needs a transaction account to work?
And CommBank doesn't count 2k in from other banks as a legitimate transaction?
Or am I reading this wrong.

    • +1

      5x outgoing transactions / month

Mine is still locked even though I did five transactions a few days ago, however they are pending transactions so will see if my Yello access is restored after they clear

edit: reading T&C's, looks like I needed five transactions last month to be eligible this month :/ https://www.commbank.com.au/content/dam/commbank-assets/late… . Also not eligible if you are dead or live in the EU or UK :P

  • I don't see this offer in my commbank app.
Do I go to 'for you' and then 'rewards'?

    • +13
      • Legend. Thank you!

      • Goodness!!! Thank you! My offer will start in March at the end of my current Uber One deal. Thank you thank you! 🤗

      • Is there a link for Uber aswell ? This one is for Uber Eats.

    • +1

      Maybe update your app?

The ‘For you’ tab seems have disappeared, at least on my app. It is replaced by ‘Yello’.

  • +1

Seems to have stacked with the previous Commbank mastercard offer for me, says the promo will start in April at end of current promo

They have 5 months to reneg on it tho

    • Seems to have stacked with the previous Commbank mastercard offer for me, says the promo will start in April at end of current promo

What is the exact wording that says the promo will start in April? Does it specifically say from yello or thanks to yello?

      • In my menu it now says

6 months free from Mastercard ends on April 7th 2024

6 months free from Mastercard starts on April 7th 2024

Seems like the same promo to me but it stacked on top of each other

It might've said Yello on the original screen when I accepted it, idno

Anyone else thinks uber one isn't as good as before? Used to have lots of great offers on uber eats when I joined previously. I re-joined thanks to the PayPal deal for over a month now and apart from a 20% discount for over $35 order, got nothing exciting…

    • +4

Yeah agreed, but free is free I suppose. Occasionally, there’ll be a banger $10 off voucher that stacks with buy one get one free - e.g. $10 off when you spend over $35, add 2x $20 buy one get one free kebab meals to cart, Uber reads the total price as $40, even though it’s only actually $20. $10 off on top of that + free delivery.

Just like that, the missus sees me as a humble sugar daddy who provides for his family. All for the low low price of $11.52.

    • +1

Buy uber gift cards when on sale for 10-15% off.

Stack with promos, last month had heaps.

Every week it was one free item (eg curry, dumpling, pizza, etc) with a $20 min spend. I also had 30% off Coles every week for 3 weeks.

    • The only benefit I am getting is that 95% of my uber transactions are for work and so they go on my work credit card but the Uber One 5% cashback credit is used for my personal spend. When you're flying nearly once a week and your airport trip is $120 return the value stacks up and it's even better when on a free Uber One trial.

    • I had 50% off groceries with free delivery, that was awesome

  • It's not in my offers.

  • Can confirm this stacks with the previous Commbank/Mastercard free offer. Mine was set to expire April 2024 and I was able to redeem this.

  • keep getting "hmm, something went wrong…" on Uber when claiming. Any ideas on how to fix?

  • This stacks, my next 6 months starts in Feb 2024

    How good.

  • +1

    "Your benefits are locked" 🤔

    • Same

  • +1

Uber One trials come with a caveat – to access the benefits, you must use the original payment method throughout the trial.

For instance, if you registered for the CommBank offer, you'll need to make payments with the same card, and if it's the PayPal offer, then you'll have to stick with PayPal payments.

Using an alternative payment method means forfeiting all the associated benefits.

    • +3

Gift cards can overwrite this as long as it covers the entire order.

Pezzee's current deal spend $150 and get bonus $10 can converts to uber eats

    • Noticing this as well. Don't know if using backup payment will fail to enjoy the benefits of uber one.😅

  • I found the "savings" on uber one were more than outweighed by

    A) using didi, which has been cheaper every time, gives a better cut to drivers, and has a far better app

    B) not using uber eats, but calling stores direct re delivery.

I am not going to pay the company trying to force tipping onto us, a subscription to use their app. Lol.

  • Can’t stack says I have pending offer.
Guess have to wait till PayPal one to end on 22 Feb 2024? The Mastercard one kicks in after that..

  • Does this stack with the 3 months free via NRMA yesterday?

  • +1

I got Kit app 12 months free membership also

  • Do the UberOne discounts apply as long as ANY mastercard is used as a payment method, or does it have to specifically be the one nominated when you accept the 6 month offer?

The card I used to accept the offer expires inside the 6 month free period.

    • When the card expires you just need to update uber eats with the expiry date/CVV of new card.

  • +3

OK, sharing my experience as it might help others with Commbank Yelo.

Last night, signed up for the 6 months free via the Mastercard site. Then tried to get another 6 months through Yelo.. it failed, said I already had a membership. 24 hours later, I tried again through Yelo and this time success! So.. same credit card, two 6 months trials stacked, second one starts 6 May 2024.

    • Enjoy - don't get too fat

  • Did they pull this offer? can no longer see it in my app

  • Can't find it today as well? Is it finished?

    • it just appeared for me again today, in Yello part of Commbank app (I had to go to Offers -> View All and had to swap to the right of "Our top picks" a few times)

  • This offer is also available at Citi and Westpac mastercard.

  • Have tried to use this offer now and was charged $1 x 2 after pressing the "Join Now" button twice, but at the same time I got "This offer isn't available for this Mastercard now" (or something along those lines). Does anyone know what's going on here?

    • was charged $1 x 2 after pressing the "Join Now" button twice

Why did you press it twice..?

      • By mistake. Did it once and nothing happened. And when I pressed it the second was when the two notifications for the charges showed up. But got refunded this morning so all good.

  • For anyone who had stacked the Uber One trials - which of this do you think is correct? The old trial period (PayPal) is coming to an end, and the new one (Mastercard) to begin soon. What is not clear is whether :

    (a) are you still required to explicitly "cancel" to indicate that you don't want the old trial to convert to a paid membership? (Since normally, without a cancellation, you would be charged to the payment method used for the trial);

    OR

    (b) Uber One understands that with a new trial starting, the old trial is implicitly cancelled, and no charging will take place, to the old trial's payment method (PayPal, in my case).

If I just go and press cancel now, it could also be interpreted as wanting to cancel Uber One completely, with all trials current and upcoming terminated. Hence, the question.

    Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

    • +1

Once your initial trial is finished, it immediately begins your second pending trial. No charge takes place in the interim.

Once your second trial is finished, and you do not cancel it before then, you'll be charged. Just set a date in your calendar to cancel the subscription a few days before your final trial expires.

      • Thanks a lot.

  • Just signed up and set up a reminder just before the six-month expiry date, so let's see if it's worth it.

  • Thanks, opened a Smart Access just for this and got card details instantly through app. Unlike Westpac, who I tried first and got given a Concession account which isn't instant (will keep for ShopBack deals).

    • I created an account, but it says i need to unlock yellow? Do i need to do transfers etc?

      • You don't need Yello to actually get the offer - next time it comes around, just use your debit card with the link.
