I wouldn't buy this. The K55 RGB Pro keyboard has rubber dome switches. Rubber Dome switches aren't any where as good as mechanical switches. It's membrane switches. But if you're fine with rubber dome switches then it's up to you.

This review says it has mushy keys with zero tactile feedback. Yuck hey. No thanks.

Yeah any decent mech keyboard costs $100+ alone. It depends how much you want to spend.

Yeah true. But i definitely wouldn't use the keyboard for serious gaming.

However i swear i've seen decent enough mech keyboards going for about $50 before.

Yeah here's one with Cherry MX key switches. And i know it's a Kogan.

        • This Corsair bundle is more for your casual gamer or entry level. What keyboard are you using?

@Twix: I'm personally using a Corsair K70 Rapidfire with Cherry MX Speed switches. It's specifically made for gaming. I got it a long time ago.

I used one of these keyboards for 3 years and it never missed a beat. Full-Time WFH usage plus gaming. It's now used on my second PC. And still going.
The mouse is also still working well without any issues.

    • I think you will find an upgrade to a good mechanical keyboard would be quite a bit better still.

      • +4

        "Better" is subjective.

As a tactile experience they're wonderful but I avoid mechanical keyboards due to the louder noises they make. It disturbs others in the household (e.g. when I'm gaming late at night or when I'm working in the morning and someone is sleeping in).

I'd probably buy this bundle if it wasn't for the fact that I've barely used my Logitech Prodigy keyboard for a year (my previous MS keyboard lasted 15 years or so), and I have a spare G402 mouse backing up the current G402 I'm using.

        • The keys on my Cherry MX Speed keyboard aren't loud, there's no click sound at all to it. The only sound to it is when the key bottoms out but still no click sound. What i do know is that MX Blue keys are clicky loud because i used to have one (Razer Blackwidow Ultimate with MX blue switches). You probably heard one of those with blue switches. In other words not all mechanical switches are the same and some are a lot quieter than others. Some make no sound at all other than the sound of the key bottoming out.

Tbf most cheap rubber dome keyboards will continue working, possibly for a decade or two so long as you don't spill liquids or use it in extremely dirty environments.

Actually I still own a PS/2 Model M (not IBM, cheap clone) keyboard tucked away somewhere buckling spring KB from the late 90's that works.

    • Delivery varies by location. $12 for me.

I bought this and the mouse as a pack a while ago because I was desperate and it's honestly fine for my use. I only really play league on mouse and keyboard and use controller for every other game because I don't play shooters. The RGB rainbow wave setting is nice and the extra media keys are nice to have as well.
