  • Time for upgrade! My B8 is really slow when watching Kayo…..

  • Its happening………… OLEDs are becoming affordable……

    • I'd argue each year runout stock gets affordable (depending on your definition).

I'd hold off on this at this price. Was looking during click frezy and had bought at 3.8 + 300 cashback. TGG cancelled my order because they stuffed up in the back end but I'm hoping they repeat for black friday.

    • That's great news — aligns on the expectations on price I have, based on historical data are:

      LG G3 65" $3500
      LG C3 65" $2500

      LG G3 55" $2750
      LG C3 55" $2000

      • I noticed that SO MANY LG C3 go on sale and ozbargainers seem to make it like this is the best tv yet. Online though I keep seeing comparison with the LG C3 and the Samsung S90C but ozbargainers never seem to post the S90C tv when on sale.

Is the LG C3 that much better in Australia than it is in America since most sites are U.S based.

Well, I have family that bought Samsung. And if you end up getting a Samsung soundbar like the HW-Q990C it makes for a great pairing, I'd agree.

For me the reason I'm not interested is Samsung has no Dolby Vision support (when most of my content, devices are ready to stream in that format) + I find the Samsung mastering in colour, saturation to be too vivid. I've also got a lovely Sonos setup that I'm willing to plug the LG into. WebOS seems lightweight as well.

I nearly bit on the Sony A95K as the mastering is beautiful but opted to keep all the TVs in the same ecosystem. I've also been bit by Sony in the past with an incredibly slow Android OS hindering the user experience, and an incredibly amount of adware saturation just rubs me the wrong way.

Anyhow, go for what matters to you.

          • @tommypickles: ahhh thanks for the reply.

It just seems like no one posts the S90C which makes it even more expensive than the LG C3 so the choice is kind of made for me haha.

Altogether there's like 3 posts for the samsung tv but like heaps of the LG one. I just thought there would be something going on.

  • So many deals on LG C3 and now this, just waiting for the high end Samsung sale - come on the S95C!

  • I looked at G3 in JB HiFi and found the image to be garish and artificial looking.

Is this just because the TV is on "shop display mode" with everything turned up to 11 or is this just how they make TVs nowadays?

(I asked if they could alter the settings or show a movie but apparently they couldn't do this.)

    • All TVs in stores are in a "retail mode" which for all intents and purposes tries to out-"pop" each other in a sea of displays. The artificial look probably comes from the colour saturation and brightness being turned up to 11 like you said.

When you bring it home and have it on a "FILMMAKER mode" with a more accurate profile, it would look amazing.
