  • Anyone have any comments on this vs Quickbooks or Xero for non-accountants just looking to better manage their own business expenses/income throughout the year? At the moment just been using spreadsheets to track everything.

    • How big is your business?

      Don't forget you are paying these guys and your accountant.

      • not big, like under a million per year, no employees. Just trying to figure out a way to make life easier to track it all. Spreadsheets been working for the past several years, but it just feels very clunky and because of that I get slack in updating it and end up missing a lot of expenses that could have been claimed against the business.

        • If you are a consultant and you bill weekly on a day rate then you won't need it

          If you are on like shopify basically you can download in Excel

          That is more like a process issue because software isn't going to pick it up especially if buy stuff on Ebay using gift vouchers you got at 10% off etc etc

    • The great thing about MYOB and this deal they will be an accountant manager will help you get set up from the start.

      • That's for a Partnership agreement ie; accountants or bookkeepers with multiple clients.
        The person on this thread with the original comment seems to be an individual looking for a single business.

        Xero is so good that we rarely have to contact their customer support. I would rather having a very good product than having to contact customer support regularly. Most importantly, MYOB is not very user friendly.

          MYOBs customer service is nothing to brag about, the only claim they can make is they have a number to call….
          Kinda tells you the state of things.

  • Worth noting per the terms this is only open to franchisees:

    1. Who is eligible for the Offer?

    The offer is strictly limited to:
    a) franchisees or association members of an association or franchisor who is party to a Commercial Partnership agreement with MYOB; and
    b) is an Australian or New Zealand registered business; and
    c) is new to MYOB (customers with a current subscription are not eligible).

    Whether they check is another thing altogether.

    Have myob and honestly if it was easy to cross over to anyone else I would. Fair enough prices rises… if any actual improvements were made but it’s always a pain in the arse and get weird glitches.

    The mobile app also sucks. Seriously. Did no one bloody test this thing or is it only aimed at people who just invoice ‘labour’.

    I will actively tell people who ask to go xero instead if asked myob or Xero

  • MYOB is a nightmare to move out from. It look us 22 days to extract information to move away. Took us just 4 hours to import all the data into Xero and get started (although training took time). MYOB NEVER AGAIN. In teh long run, I wouldn't count this as a deal - more like a trap.
