Dick Smith 3in1 "Netbook" Accessory Kit, Earphones, Small USB Mouse and 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub $4

140

Some Dick Smith stores have 3in1 computer accessory kits that include Earphones with Microphone (3.5mm jack), a small USB Mouse and 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub (optional power supply not included). I picked up the one in the picture from a bargain bin at Dandenong, VIC DSE (there were 2 left in the bin when I left). I couldn't find the product on their website and I don't know which stores have stock. You can use these on a PC/Mac, it doesn't have to be a netbook. The box says "netbook not included" :)

  • thanks! just wanted a small usb mouse for my tablet

    • The mouse is great! worth the $4 on its own

Most stores that I have been to in WA still have them in stock. I picked one up a few months ago for this price and still see them around the place.

    • I bought one in the Adelaide CBD store around a month ago but they only had one left…from what the salesman said I assume that they had been selling them at this price for a while

I just dashed down to DSE in Nunawading (Melbourne) and picked one up. It was not on a bargain table, it was hanging on a rack with the regular stock. Really impressed with the finish on the items, do not look like cheap crap at all. Looks like excellent value at $4, a powered USB hub often costs way more than that.

    • The hub works fine with my mouse and keyboard, so that frees up some USB ports on one of my laptops that I use as a desktop. It has a bright red LED that is always on when plugged in. I'd like to disable the LED but it looks like the screws must be under the label, so I'll just live with it. It can't charge an iPhone without an external power supply but that was expected. I have a 5.7v Nokia charger that fits but I don't know if it is the right polarity, so I'm not going to try it.

  • Bought a couple last week at DSE Fountain Gate Vic.
They had plenty then and even at the "regular" price of $4 it seems a bargain.

  • sounds like a great deal…pity its not listed on their website (product code XH1228 from receipt)

Just picked up a few from DSE Toombul. They had 5 left after I was done. Good deal… I actually do have a netbook to use this with!

  • It has been this price from ages in store… I think I first saw in june but we still didn't sell a lot.
    Bargain though.

    • If DSE put that in the catalogue, I think it will sell much faster. The 1.5 tb seagate portable for $149 has been on catalogue for many months, the catalogue spaced could have been used for this product! I would have not bought the one offered by buyincoins which is usb 1.1 just a couple of days before I bought this pack.

  • Just bought it today. Thanks OP!

  • yeh bought this bout a month ago, is the regular price but still a great deal, fairly good quality stuff (cept for the earphones) but cant really complain $4, though now am to used to the small mouse that normal mouses feel weird

  • you put this on credit? :P

Got to get those credit card reward points :P

  • Earphone quality too low for my ears. Mouse too small for my hands.

The bargain for me was the USB hub.

  • I bought it because it has a mouse and also because of the usb hub. My logitech mouse that I have been using for more than 8 years, the right click doesn't work very well so I thought I could replace it but found the mouse too small for the comfort of using it.

For the usb hub, I thought I got one extra usb port because it comes with 5 ports. One of the ports doesn't work when I put in my usb, I tried it with my usb modem also doesn't work. I put the mouse, usb back into the box and plan to return it to get a replacement, then I read the back and found out the 5th one is for power charging not for data transfer.
