Should be 2024 in the title.

    • Fixed, thanks!

      • I would buy a whopper for my dog as he refuses to eat Macca's junks. He may eat it when he is hungry or may not eat at all.

        • Do you have a Jack Russell?

  • +1

LOL the 2 whopper Juniors and 2 sml chips has been $8 in the app for weeks

  • +24

    Lol I remember when 2 Whoppers was $5.99, now it's $11.95.

    • +12

I remember a time when you could get two grilled chicken burgers for around that. Back when they were awesome with the brown bun.

      • +4

Oh i remember those OG grilled chicken burger so tasty

And i forgot what it was called. The long chicken sandwich they had in approx 2006 were the best

        • Yes! Those chicken sandwiches were the best. The vouchers are barely deals these days

        • Oh i remember the time hungry jacks wasn't open n we were eating a bit less junk foods.

          • @mikeleemy: I mean tbf both Hungry Jacks and Macca's came (at opposite ends) in the same year so I could imagine that being so.

            • +1

@pennypincher98: Hj use to be cheaper than mcd now it more expensive. How did that happen

          • @mikeleemy: Haha you must be old

        • back in 09 when i worked at HJs the OG royale and the chicken wraps were my favorite to make, very simple and easy

        • +1

thank you! those original grilled chicken burger patties were way better then the current ones. I know as I used to work at HJ's and sampled many during a shift

        • It was all just paddocks around here back then.

      • +5

They were oat bran buns. Best burgers ever @ HJs. I was so excited when they brought back the grilled chicken burger, hurried to get one and was so disappointed when they came on normal buns, not the original oat bran buns. Nowhere near as good as the original version from the 90s.

        • The grilled chicken burger never went away, so they couldn't have brought it back. They stopped using the oat bran buns some years ago (but not that many) and the burger has never tasted the same since.

          • +3

@bonezAU: Even the patty is different though.

The OG grilled chicken burger was awesome!! Why change a good thing Hjs!?

Same goes for the onion rings - I liked them when they were crumbed

        • Oh yes and i really liked that white powder on the oat buns

    • +8

I remember when the two junior whoppers with small fries were 4.95 in 2015. Oh and same price for 10 nuggs with large fries as well. Helped me survive uni on Centrelink haha. Better times

      • +1

Yeah remember doing similar a few years ago when you could get a free bbq cheeseburger with survey, free medium fries on shake n win and $1 slushie (or alternatively, free large drink with shake n win and $1 small fries)

Survey then changed to a free small chips and drink, so $2 bbq cheeseburger + chips + drink.

Yeah can't think of why the survey didn't stay šŸ¤£

    • +2

I also remember a time when petrol was 30 cents a litre.

    • -1

I remember when two sixpence would buy you a barrel full of Whoppers and a florin would fill a swimming pool with Coke Zero.

    • In the 90s the 2 Whoppers deal was just $3.

    • I remember in the 80s, 2 whoppers were $1.50

      • in the 70s it was like 3c

  • +8

Onion rings for $5. No way. That's a crime.

    • -1

At least better than paying $5.75 :(

  • +11

how are they still in business

id kill for two bacon deluxes for $8 again :(

    • +4

Pretty sure I remember the coupons being like two for $6.95 or so circa 2015~

      • Yeah I think so, couldn't remember exactly.

      • +1

        Was under $5 pre 2010.
Dunno how kids survive these days.

        • I remember making whoppers at HJ's as a teenager and them flying out the door on 2 for $3.25 vouchers

        • Bacon deluxe were 2 for $4.00 on regular rotation on the coupons back in early 00's and then only gradually went from $4.00 to $4.xx to $4.95 over very many years. I would go to HJ once every 1 or 2 months back in those days, now I go once every 2 or 3 years and I always feel like I'm attending the grave site of the cheap two bacon deluxe deal.

  • how can I get these prices?

    • +1

Just go and order. You'll get it at that price.oh, tell them you have the voucher.

      • Yeah I got asked for it the last time I went in the drive through. Had to do the drive of shame as there was a car behind me

        • +3

I got asked for a physical voucher too the other day. It was the manager who served me and he said it's a new policy.
Instead I ended up getting something from shake and win.

I wonder if this means that phone is no longer fine.

          • +1

@bonezAU: You're in Perth too, wonder if it's a WA thing. I don't even get the damn vouchers delivered how else am I supposed to get it. Wonder if they'll accept printed ones, but I don't wanna waste my precious ink šŸ˜‚

            • +2

@MeesusEff: I don't get them in my letterbox either. I went away in October for almost a month and put a 'no junk mail' sign on my letterbox, as soon as I got back I took away the sign but they still won't put junk mail in my letterbox. I liked reading the Aldi catalogue :P

Before that, I think it was pretty rare to get HJ's vouchers anyway, maybe twice a year.

Hopefully this isn't a new policy, they used to be available directly on the HJ's website (example: https://www.hungryjacks.com.au/Upload/HJ/Media/Voucher/HJ006ā€¦)

If anyone can find the link for the current vouchers that'd be good.

        • Haha. Ain't never providing em. Phone will suffice if required if they argue I'll use my special line lol.

          • @cobknob: Whats the special line?

            • +4

@itslittfam: The burgers are better at McDonald's.

            • -1

@itslittfam: Not really special. Both HQ and some store managers have mentioned to me that I don't need physical vouchers. Stores have to follow consistency. Ain't managers discretion. So I just mention that so and so said this, if they argue I bring out a big name very rarely.. :) and unfortunately if they are a pain in the ass, I become 1 too.

  • +1

put a copy on phone ,when ordering tell them you have a voucher for…………. all good

  • +9

Waiting for Wendy's to come over and give HJ the kick in the butt they muchly need.

    • +1

same but I'm sure like Carls Jnr they'll be similar pricing. hoping they taste good.

    • Will see how they taste. But if anything maccas needs the kick up the butt. Had a mcchicken other day. I swear the patty getting smaller again :/

  • +5

    Prices still going up..

Double cheeseburger + chips $5.95 (up from $5.45)
    10 nuggets + large chips $7.25 (up from $6.95)
2 Vegan whoppers cheese $12.95 (up from $12.45)

    • +1

I feel like theyā€™re just gonna keep increasing the price until no one is using the vouchers
Then theyā€™ll probably be like oh those guys using the vouchers donā€™t make us much money anyway and just make those vouchers redundant

      • +3

ā€œFast foods restaurantsā€ need a wake up call.

        • +3

doesnt everyone have all three apps installed and you just hit 2 or 3 stores a day to get a decent feed?

i also use two phones to double up the apps

          • +1

@tonyjzx: I take it you never pay more than $2 for a cheeseburger and large fries?

          • @tonyjzx: HKs are sparse in Sydney youā€™d spend more on fuel

      • +2

They don't have a contractual obligation to provide vouchers… If they want to stop people using them then they can just stop printing them instead of playing bizarre games and trying to annoy people so much that they stop!

      • why don't they just stick with the app like every other fast food franchise

        • +2

They do have an app, the deals change like monthly or something, they're better than these vouchers usually

        • Hey, there are people here who are too cheap for smart phones. I am one.

          • +3

@Ryanemo: You're losing more money missing out on deals than what a smart phone costs nowadays

            • @star-ggg: Not sure… smart phones seem very time consuming. Heads are buried most places I look. My time has a cost associated.

              • +1

@Ryanemo: So take out your phone when you get to HJ's. It's not a pocket pet that constantly demands your attention.

                • @star-ggg: My phone cost $29, 8 years ago. It cannot handle the internet.

                  • +1

@Ryanemo: My phone costs $49 2 years ago and it handles more than the internet. Woolworths stocks clearance thanks to OzB.

  • +1

    Is phone fine?

    • Yes

    • +1

      Depends on the store

  • +1

Still no bacon deluxes. I'm starting to forget what they tasted like :'(

    • +1

Use the app, they seem to come up as a prize for $4 or $5 - actually the only free thing on it these days is those little ice cream things. At least the prices are better than the vouchers though.

      • You can get a hash brown for free in the mornings. I just scored one today. You used to be able to score a free Brekky Roll, but I havenā€™t seen one pop up for a long time.

        • Good to know, though we're never near them early enough for the breakfast items.

      • Oh yeah, about that the app is broken on my phone. I contacted them twice over the last 2 years and they never respond

      • With the Shake n Win I regularly get the bacon deluxe for $5 and the whopper for $4.

        • I think the whopper in shake and win increased to either $5/6

          • @MeesusEff: I hope not. I had a whopper only last week for $4.

          • +1

@MeesusEff: This week it's still been $4 whopper and $5 bacon deluxe in Sydney. They often come up with a win of a whopper or bacon deluxe and bbq cheeseburger where it's a much higher price when I shake n win.
And their obsession with the processed chicken and icecream/shake options is what I mostly get and ignore.

            • +1

@djk: Oh yeah my bad it was the bacon deluxe for $5, that used to be $4

              • @MeesusEff: I must be getting old if I can remember when the bacon deluxe was $3. LD

                • @djk: Good ol shake and win days when it used to be free. And no barcode so just flashed a screenshot šŸ˜‚

      • Yep, often on shake and wins

  • +4

i remember HJ used to release the official PDF version of these vouchers………

  • +2

Sweet, they're hiring. What a deal!

  • +1

2 Whoppers now cost the same as what 2 small Whopper meals used to a few years ago…

  • +10

When cheap nasty fast food becomes more expensive than making yourself a quick easy healthy tasty meal that feeds you 3 times its time to quit.

    • Nothing wrong with just a whopper occasionally - would do it myself but..

      1. Ain't got a bbq
      2. The beef patties sold in shops today are too coarse - this would mean I'd need a mincer to ground mince finer then it is and add some seasoning too.

I miss tasty Joe's frozen beef burgers. IandJ are crappy and you just can't get decent frozen burgers anymore lol.

  • The deals are the app are better than this, weird

    • Wait for the update

  • +2

Miss the free stuff from Shake and Win…

  • +4

Its crazy how bad HJ food quality is vs the price with the vouchers, i dont think i could ever justify paying full price for a whopper.

    • I mostly get what I want now :) a good whopper my way - I've got HQ on speed dial lol. And yes full price sucks at 8.7$ - at least the 2x whoppers are back.

  • looks like shake app just recently updated prizes on shakes. i tried over many times past days but can't score any decent value or free items anymore.

hj like even shake app has little value nowā€¦

anyone tried late. score any good items or freebies?

  • +1

My local says phone NOT fine, physical copy needed and he 'couldn't physically put it through without' which is obviously a load of crap as it's not even barcoded.

    • Thatā€™s happens to me too at all my local stores

  • +2

miss the old days , 2x whopper jnr and 2x small fries 5.95
