Wasn't this posted about a week ago ?

    • +1

      No

    • +2

      bobby shmurda reference

    • +3

Not sure why this comment from jv got negged. This deal was posted a week ago or so, but the title did not mention specifically for iPhone 11, only in comment by someone.

      • +1

Why does it even matter if it was posted or not, just move on. I support this deal being posted, and I'm surely not the only one. How many self appointed deal policeman are out there on ozb?

  • +3

Wow, brand new iPhone 11… someone have stocked a lot of those last 3-4 years.

    • still making , means don’t have to drop prices on latest model as they have various models at various price points , there is a floor price after which point they don’t have a model, so don’t wait for a $400 model from the apple store lol …like bmw, merc , porsche don’t make $25,000 cars, not their market.

      • So it's no more 'premium' model?

  • iOS 17 support from iPhone Xs so I guess it will last a few years?

    • -6

so I guess it will last a few years?

My iphone 7 is still working fine…

      • -1

        is that your personal aircraft?

        • +5

Yes… Just serviced the rotors on the weekend…

  • +4

Hmm tempted for child phone update.. so can I just ignore the sim and put their existing sim card in this?
    Says unlocked. I assume so?

  • If the battery has be in the phone for 4 years, it's time to be replace, even not a cycle used.

    • +9

iPhones are manufactured for many years, not just in the year it was released. Discontinued in September 2022.

      • +2

I think it's a pretty valid concern- I'm not sure why the OP got downvoted so much.

Discontinued 09/22 but the models Amaysim are holding on to could well be from 1.5-2 years ago. I wouldn't say already time to replace it but people should know that battery degradation does affect phones that haven't been used.

I myself purchased a discontinued model 1.5 years after manufacture, it worked fine but after a few months had already dropped to 80% battery health. This was on a phone with already mediocre battery life, so my few-months-old phone hardly felt new after all.

        • +4

its new and under warranty so it will be replaced. It's not a cheap lower quality phone, where battery quailty isnt as good. (No its not android vs iphone comment - its cheap vs brand )

          • @RockyRaccoon: Apple warranty doesn't cover a battery replacement unless it's "defective". An old battery that has lost a percentage of it's health in a normal matter would not count for replacement

Our warranty doesn't cover batteries that wear down from normal use

            https://support.apple.com/en-au/iphone/repair/battery-replac…

Whether lack of use counts as normal use is up for debate, but I think it's worth mentioning on ANY phone that is being sold that has been sitting idle for an extended time. Battery degradation is pure chemistry, unless Apple has developed world leading battery tech that doesn't degrade- yes iPhones too will experience this.

            • +3

@johnn: it will cover as customer only just purchase the product. Sitting in some warehouse for 4 years is Apple / Telco issue and they have to fix it.

        • +3

Comes with 2 years warranty from Apple from the day you activate it.

    • +5

You have no idea, and even if you were right, its a brand new iphone - you have a fully warranty. So it it did need replacing you get it replaced under the 1 year warranty.

    • +1

Battery has been in the phone less than 2 months.

  • -5

iPhone 13 much better value at $899 plus $30 once for plan. 11 has no 5g. Now that 3G is being switched off 4G alone will not be ideal.

    • +9

It's a bit hard to argue a phone that costs twice as much is "much better value".

Most cheaper mobile plans (including Amaysim) don't offer 5G support anyway.

        • +3

Why is this so downvoted? Shrew's first point makes sense but Shrew is literally wrong about Amaysim not offering 5G.

          • @Nillionaire: They offer 5G, but not on their cheaper long expiry plans.

I would assume most people only spending $500 on a phone probably don't want to spend $30+/mo on a plan.

          • @Nillionaire: LOL, it was a tough crowd yesterday! No love for one word responses. My original comment was aimed at helping those able to step up to the 13 understand the network impacts moving forward.

      • +1

Amaysim has 5G now, tho i still dont have it on mind

        • They only have it on the more expensive month to month plans, not their 6/12 month long expiry plans.

      • +3

Team, I’m not saying this isn’t a deal but the value equation arguably favours iPhone 13 as it has 5g, better battery life, better screen (OLED v LCD), double storage, much faster processor, improved cameras, more future updates, smaller form factor, better water proofing and more.

11 is good and this is a great price, but the 13 is excellent value for $899.

        • +1

I don't entirely disagree. Yes, it's a good deal on an iPhone 13, but these two phones are in entirely different price brackets.

      • +1

Most cheaper plans have already switched on 5G, no doubt the few remaining will have it on very soon.

        • the telcos bill on GB whether you consume on 4G or 5 makes no difference , actually the quicker you use data the quicker you need top up. telcos. have moved to 5G as they get more through put with same spectrum, think it’s called re-farming.

          • @garage sale: Consider a concert in a big venue, speed of data transfer is critical to minimise network congestion. 4g fails where 5g frequently gets the job done. It’s not only about using a lot of data quickly, it’s also about transferring a lot of small amounts of data quickly.

            • @Fancydancer: 5G probably won't work at all if it's in a venue. But in the open, 5G is better..if you are close to a tower. 4G is still the more versatile network.

            • @Fancydancer: I'm sure 5G has other benefits apart from data transfer speeds, but when telcos impose caps on 5g like 100mbps or 150mbps (which you can easily hit on 4G anyway), does having 5G even seem better when using it?

I don't think I've found much of a difference when using it on my iPhone 12 mini (that I got via the cracking Amaysim deal posted to Ozbargain in February 2023), except for the fact that 5G uses up my battery quite a bit. I stream everyday while on public transport.

  • +1

Not sensation price but its priced right with trade in value at about half the selling price. I would buy this over iPhone SE if I am looking for a basic iOS device. The wide angle lens is very useful, way more than some of you may think…..

  • Looking for an updated phone for my child. Shame I can't just purchase the phone by itself

    • It's just $30 for the plan to buy the device, how is that stopping you?

      • I'm an OzBargainer. $30 is $30!

  • +1

    any mini??

    • +2

There is no iphone 11 mini… There is 12 and 13 mini though

      • +3

        How about a VW?

  • Does the Sim need to be activated or can we throw it and put our existing Sim in and use that?

    • +2

Your sim should work - iphones are unlocked. But may have to activate the supplied sim (under contract) so you can cancel which you need to do, otherwise you will pay the service plan cost each month. I wouldn't "throw" away until its cancelled.

      • Good point. Thanks for that

      • Under contract? It's a Prepaid service …

        • True, probably should have said "plan" - You make sure the payment isnt automatically deducted each month, then the sim will "die"after a time.

  • These are still a good phone and for $509 are phenomenal.

When this phone ends mainstream OS support in a few YEARS Apple will still do security updates for more YEARS.

So for undemanding users, Apps, Email and Web in Apple ecosystem this has everything.

I bought a 12 a few weeks ago for $797 from a deal here, very nice and fast.

    • iPhone 12/13 has the newer processor. I'd save up for that one personally

      • +1

Yes you are correct but for $509 if you can’t go higher it’s a deal.

        • I thought there was an iPhone 12 deal around this price not too long ago, but I may be mistaken

          • @TEER3X: Yes the 12 was $796, I bought one.

If you couldn’t afford that then this 11 deal is on point.

    • +2

My work phone is an 11, I use it for about 5-6 hours a day and it is great, it does everything perfectly, is reliable, and I can't see any benefit to me from a 13.

  • I hope Telstra price matches. My current 11 is cactus.

    • +1

is it thorny with a prickly pear?

      • More thorny I think with the smashed glass back cover.

  • -1

Wonder if Office works price match $510 with out sim card
Actual price now out right is$667 for black 64gb..

    • Why not call and share what you find

    • +2

very hit and miss, i went last week to buy iPhone 14 and the dude on the counter was chill.
I showed him the webpage, he looked at it for 3 minutes then said "yeah why not" and rang it through

      • +6

That must have been a long 3 minutes!

        • +3

Yeah that due was chilled, will take a bit time to defrost…

      • 14 pro or + or norma? 128 or 256? how much ya get it for?

        • normal, whatever 5 percent less of how much its selling on the amaysim website

  • +1

iPhone 13 sounds like a good deal

  • I've been wanting to find an opportunity to switch to an iPhone 13 mini, but it seems that none of the carriers in Australia offer relevant plans for it. Interestingly, there are still plans available for the iPhone 12 mini.

  • +2

Very tempting… this or wait for Black Friday sales….

    • +2

I'm going to hold out, waiting for a deal on the 14's and 13's

      • You don’t consider $899 a deal on 13? Normally $1099.

        • Not when my dad's one feels like a 4 year old phone after updating to iOS 17… Phone got replaced 3 times by apple for faulty hardware.

  • how much can I sell my iphone 11 256gb black?

    • +2

Assuming it's in good condition and the battery health is >80%, Mobile Guru Australia will give you $460.00 for it. In my opinion, you're best off taking that quote to Mobile Monster and doing their 5% price-beat, so they'll give you $483.00 for it (but your battery health will need to be >85%)

      • yo thanks man ill check em out, have you used them before? 460 is a done deal for me if its an easy process

        • Last I used Mobile Guru they took a bit longer to pay me out than other phone buyers (Mobile Monster and WeBuyBack are my favourites), but they did pay me out so no real dramas there.

Mobile Monster has always been super reliable for me, I've sold dozens of phones to them (I buy off eBay and resell to them on the side)

          • @dm02: no worries mate, i just emailed them to get the %5 price beat. lets see how it goes.

          • @dm02: so they said they can do 470 which is not really %5, should i press them about their %5 policy which i cant seem to find on the website?
also when the pre paid packet that they send comes through, can i put the phone in it and place it in a red postal box in my street or do i have to go into a post office over the counter?

  • -2

Not a deal. That’s the prevalent price minus the sim plan.

    • ‘Prevalent’ price is $679

  • How does a Iphone 11 compare with latest Iphone SEs ?

  • +4

    Delivered this morning.
    For anyone wondering…..
Came with iOS 17.0.2 (21A351), 100% battery health.
coconutBattery says the battery was manufactured 2023-09-18

    • Woah, that was quick.

      Where abouts are you located?

      • +1

        Sydney

    • Super quick delivery on my order to, gotta say I’m impressed.

  • Ordered the iPhone 11 for a spare phone but later found a spare upon searching. Asked Amayasim to cancel the order but they said they can’t. It’s so bizarre since the order hasn’t even been shipped yet. They also said I can’t even get a refund for change of mind.
What are my options? Can anyone please help here?

    • You be able to sell it for this much hopefully

  • Anyone has ideas about what to expected for an iPhone 13 in the Black Friday sales. Any ideas based on historical trends.

    • +1

I bought the 13 with this deal as it was only recently retailing at $1299 from memory before 15 release. $899 is a good price, better off you can price beat but I had no luck.

      • Yeah… jb have refused to price beat. I have the ultimate gift cards for 1k bought at 15% off which I’m hoping to use. I would’ve bought this if I did t have the discounted cards.

  • Both 64gb and 128gb variants back in stock after showing as OOS earlier this morning.
