Id rather a brighter screen than good colours or higher res - so I can work outdoors. what low-mid tier laptop have the brightest screens then? Lenovo look bright on specs but cant trust their numbers according to reviews.

A screen with this resolution looks average at 14", it would be terrible at 16", especially given the 45% NTSC thing. After owning a Microsoft Surface Pro, I could not go back to one of these washed out low res screens.
If you're docking it, then I guess it's fine.
