We’re increasing the price of our nbn50 and FW+ plan from $75 to $80 on 1 December 2023. Our other plans will not increase in price on 1 December.

Customers who sign up on a promotional offer, or who signed up previously on a promotional offer, will receive the promotional price for the duration of their offer period.

For example, if you sign up in November 2023 to the 50Mbps plan on our $15 off per month for 6 month offer, you will pay $60 per month for the first 6 months. At the end of the 6 month period, your price will increase to $80 per month.

I think if you are spending that you might as well go with exetel for the same price but much more reliable provider.

      much more reliable provider.

      arguable…..

Exetel is the worst isp for my case. Painful slow speed and creating lots of my wifi connection. Changed to ABB, instantly changed. Then I moved on to Dodo, my rate is in between Exetel and ABB.

Once you turn off cgnat on exetel, it will be rock solid.

    • Had nothing but problems with exetel and their customer service takes forever… I've literally been with every ISP now from churning every 6 months and rank them probably the lowest..

      • You aren't suggesting they are worse than More ?? Cos i was looking to go from More to Exetel. My issues with More - main one - is that i have only ever had a bad ip with them, even when requesting a change, within a week it's a bad ip again and several pages i browse don't work. Something very wrong with More IPs (or Vocus if you like).

I moved from Exetel to More and haven't had any issues with either of them. I'm chasing good prices and am fairly intolerant to service quality problems, but haven't had any with either of those providers (so far for More)

        • Have been with More for 1.5 years now and never had any issues. This is the longest I have been with any ISP

      • top3?
        bottom 3?

I also churn but haven't hit them all yet

Superloop/ABB on top, SL always cheaper tho for same performance
haven't yet tried leaptel or Launtel
Exetel has good speed for me but pppoe sucks, and there support is hit or miss

  • i was with dodo for 2 months and switched really bad ping

  • umm not much of a saving - https://leaptel.com.au/nbn-plans/

    Im using HFC NBN

i went Exetel which was absolute garbage to ABB now to leaptel 1000Mbps/50Mbps and no problems $100 for 5years

    • +3

leaptel 1000Mbps/50Mbps and no problems $100 for 5years

$20 per year is a pretty good price for 1000/50

      • I think Mario meant to say $100 per year for 5 years.

        • They must be Luigi then…

          • @jv: But I still wonder how did Mario manage to lock in that price for 5 years? It says on the website it should be $129 annually.

            • @edfoo: they sent me an email - celebrating the new speed of 1000/50 as i was already on 500/20 pricing which was $100 - so i upgraded for free for 5 years locked in.

            • @edfoo: Monthly, not annually.

Leaptel have some very decent first year discounts. Check their website for plans, pricing and offers. I might be wrong but I don’t believe anybody is getting a locked in price for five years either.

              • @Samsquanch: Yes, sorry my typo. Meant to say $129 monthly.

          • @jv: $100/month

More telcom ischeaper if you have a CommBank home loan - $56.40 per month for 12 months for 100/20, free eero router and upgrade to FTTP.

    • $56.40 per month for 12 months for 100/20,

      Nope, that finished.

It is now $84.60 per month for CBA customers for 100/20…
      (50/20 is $79.20 per month)

      • Ah well must have ended over the weekend because I signed up on Saturday and got it.

        • Be prepared to pay extra from 1st december as they are increasing all plan prices.

I am on that Commbank plan which is $53.90 per month for 2 years but from 1st December it will increase to $61.60 per month

          • +2

@jedimaster: Ah well I'm coming from belong's 50mbps plan for $80 which has crept up the last few years so still a discount in my books. Need to hop more frequently it seems.

          • +1

@jedimaster: They said they're on the 100/20 plan, that would be getting a price decrease.

  • More Telecom with CBA credit card is still a better offer

    • That is increasing from 1st December and will be $61.60 per month. I am on that plan for over a year now.

  • With the price increasing wouldn't it make more sense to sign up for for Whistle Out Dodo NBN 100 plan for 63.80 for 6 months?

    https://www.whistleout.com.au/Broadband/Providers/Dodo/NBN-F…

    • I have updated the deal. So now more price difference with 100 Mbps plan
