  • Aurgh I ordered Sunday and it just got delivered - I knew I'd miss a sale but I needed it

All good - looks like it was a couple of hours outside of the 48 hours, and it was only a $3 difference anyway.
      cheers for the great beans.

  • no idea which beans to order… whats good? I like bold melbourne cafe coffee

    • Hey there xtommyk - I would always recommend the Enterprise as a great place top start - if you want however to jump up a notch on your first try for boldness, I would go the Stargazer Blend.

      I hope that helps.

      Cheers
      Dan

      • Thanks Dan, purchased :)

        But which Enterprise?!
        NX-01, Constitution Class, Constitution Class (Refit), A, B, C, D, E, F or J?!

        • -1

          D, always

          • @colblair: I'm partial to the E

Fun fact - the writers of Star Trek: Enterprise randomly picked the letter J as "far enough in the future to be plausible" for the Enterprise Daniels to take Archer to in the future

            • @linkindan: Also, I forgot about the G in the third series of Picard

I wish I could forget about the rest of the third series of Picard

              • @linkindan: Season 3 was awesome! 1 and 2 were the weak ones!

                • @axlfan: Patrick Stewart "I wanted to do something different"

Series 1 - The Romulans and The Borg
                  Series 2 - Q and The Borg
Series 3 - The Next Generation crew, Changelings and… The Borg

We chop and change a bit but enterprise and sumartra are favs. Coffee recommendations are tricky because everyone has their style.

They are a great company and well worth giving them a try.

      • Thanks so much for the recommendation ohyesss!

    • +1

      I like Stargazer.

  • Ordered, always good

    • Thanks so much mdcsooty.
      Really appreciate it.

  • I have a Breville smart grinder and would like advice on grind setting for filling up nespresso-style metal pods.

I've had great luck with Sensory Lab "stellar" beans on a typical grind setting of about 16-19. Then I tried Inglewood coffee beans and am forced to go to a really fine grind setting in order to extract the shot properly - I end up having to use three pods instead of my usual two and even then, it's not great (the shot takes ages to pull and sometimes it gets jammed cause the pressure can't get through such a fine packed pod).

I'm looking for a deal on a set of beans compatible with this style of coffee, has this been done successfully with AIRJO beans?

    • He there anthman - that's a tricky one as you have found out from experience.
I would recommend a trial and error process when you are grinding each different blend.
The can all be different in terms of the way they will extract based on numerous factors.
Consequently is it challenging in the least to recommend a specific setting.
      I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

      Kind Regards
      Dan

    • It's not the just the grind, the roast darkness can make a big difference. Try a light roast, medium-fine grind and adjust from there. Darker roasts tend to collapse as they are extracted and cause challenges such as channelling or blockage if you go too fine to compensate.

Lighter roasts are also much better at exposing the true character of the coffee beans, so you might enjoy the results more.

  • Does anyone has setting recommendation for Entrepreneurs on Breville Barista pro ? I did not get a good taste last time

    • Hey there Steven123 - if it's of any use at all we have a general dialling in guide on our website here https://airjo.com/pages/dialling-in

Alternatively, if you are getting results from your shots that you want to improve please just reach out on our chat feature on the website and I can hopefully help on the spot.

      Cheers

  • Cheers, enjoyed the saratoga last time, but decided to try an enterprise this time.

    • That's great Poised - thanks so much for your order.
Super keen to hear how they compare for you.

      Please let us know.
      Cheers

Just finished a bag of enterprise which was great, however I like a stronger taste in milk. What would you recommend?

    • Hey there Buttrchicken - thanks for the feedback on the Enterprise - I would go for the Stargazer for sure.
Please let me know how it goes for you if you do grab that one.

      Cheers
      Dan

    • Partner and I drink cappuccino and our fav is thunderchild!

  • Just in time for our Sumatra topup!

    • Great! Glad the timing worked for you axlfan! Thank you!

      • Btw, your coffees have the roast date on them. But how long does this stay fresh? Can we keep the beans sealed for upto a year?

        • +1

Ooh - great question axlfan - you could keep them for a year but they wouldn't taste any better than supermarket coffee.
The premium window for fresh coffee is within the first 3 weeks. Still great for a few weeks after that but then slowly loses it's magic.
To maximise freshness, keep them stored in our resealable bags in a cool, dry space.

          I hope that helps
          Cheers
          Dan

          • @AIRJO CoffeeRoasters: We put our bags in the freezer so far so good not sure how long their in there, Dan whats your thoughts? They do get moisture though, is that bad? Still tastes good but I am not a coffee snob.

  • Last week, I ordered the SUMATRA BLEND for the first time, taking advantage of a promotion. It delivers excellent taste as both espresso and Cafe Latte.
Do you have any recommendations for another blend that would works well with Cafe Latte, or should I continue enjoying the Sumatra blend?

    • Hey there Markoov - thanks so much for the great feedback on the Sumatra Blend - If you want to try something different I would recommend the Pegasus Blend as something close in strength.

      I hope that helps.

      Thanks again
      Dan

  • Trying Pegasus here

    • Great stuff Tobz - thank you - please let us know what you think - Cheers Dan

I drove to work this morning without a coffee due to running out of beans and praying for an Airjo deal. Thank you coffee gods!

It seems it's been almost 18 months since I last tried the Stargazer so going to give that another crack. Love your work team!

    • We heard you Hinee haha!
Enjoy the Stargazer - thanks so much for your order.

      Cheers
      Dan

  • Any recommendations for lower acidity blends?

    • Hi rafsaaa - the darker roasts generally have lower acidity - perhaps the Stargazer would suit - it's not our darkest but darker than average.

      I hope that helps.
      Cheers
      Dan

  • Pardon my knowledge about coffee. Can you recommend best one to make mocha?

    • +1

Hey there amsaini15 - feel free to ask anything you like any time.
Are you using espresso to make the mocha? If so, I would go with the Twilight or Enterprise.

      I hope that helps
      Cheers
      Dan

  • Ordered Enterprise 4 times so far, decided to mix it up a little and ordered a Stargazer this time (using v60 smart dripper) purely to take into work.
Espresso machine is reserved for weekend coffees beans from my local Cafe

    • +1

Nice choice Cludo - very keen to hear how it compares for you to the Enterprise.
Please let us know and thanks for your order.

  • Trying out the Sumatra blend this time for my Moka pot :)

  • Ordered the Sumatra last time this was on special and it was great. Cheers

Hey AIRJO, do you have a recommended blend for V60 filters?

    • following

    • I looked at previous deals, they recommended Sumatra and Pegasus.

      • I've picked Pegasus to start with then.

  • Hey Airjo! Will be purchasing this for the first time. Not a huge fan of super citrusy or acidic coffees. Any recommendations?

    • Enterprise is the best one to start with.

  • Can you order with delayed dispatch?

Just had a kg delivered I'm working through which will take me at least 3 weeks! The freshness is night and day from supermarket beans!

    • Just freeze it

  • Giving the Sumatra blend a go for the first time! Just in time as well, have about 2 coffees worth of beans left 😬. How long does shipping normally take?

    • Shipping should be fast, usually around 2 days. If anything, coffee will be TOO fresh, haha but not the worst problem to have. My last batch was 2 days from roasting and I found it got better every day for first week or so.
Ps: Its my first try of Sumatra and I like it.

  • this doesn’t seem that cheap compared to my local roaster. Are these really good? Considering the Sumatra blend.

    • How much does your local roaster charge? Mine wants $60/kg. They're dreaming considering what is available delivered to the door for around the $35/kg point.

  • I own a Jura Z10 coffee machine and I’ve heard that it’s best not to use oily coffee beans with it. I love Melbourne cafe-style lattes. What would be the ideal beans for both the machine and my preference? Thanks a lot!

  • Too bad I can't drink 1kg of beans within the optimum 3-4week window. Would be good to see a sale on the 500g packs.

    • Freeze the rest

    • Just stop worrying about magic window.

Aldi have luxury beans for $25. More luxurious beans for less money. AirJo don’t have a single bean branded as luxe or luxury…

    • +1

Tried them, once again Aldi beans are ok but they are still a supermarket bean. They are a little better than their Dark or Medium bean which are one dimensional in flavour, the Luxe aren't that much better.

  • I ordered the Sumatra blend, but I still have a couple of weeks of beans left. Can I schedule the delivery in the future?

  • +1

    Any recommendations for cold brew?

Also is it possible to delay shipment by a week or two?

  • Bought a couple of Bags, holidays are not far away.
    Thank you, great timing.

  • Hi @AIRJO CoffeeRoasters,

Just a typo on your product description. Indonesia Sumatra Ache Tengah should be Indonesia Sumatra Aceh Tengah

  • My dad just ordered a kilo of Thunderbird, ground for Aeropress, after I sent him the deal

It better be good - it’s both our reputations on the line aha

  • @AIRJO CoffeeRoasters has this finished?

    • It says as of this day below the post that there are 7 days left.

  • Giving this a go for the first time, hope it's some decent coffee!

    • Don't expect it to be at the same level as Yirgacheffe roasted to your preference, but AIRJO coffees are decent for the price.

I'm a card carrying Coffee Snob and I've ordered from AIRJO multiple times to fill in gaps when I'm not roasting my own (due to lack of time and preparation).

The Sumatra blend is good value when discounted. Delivery is quick (Australia Post Express) and I store my beans in small containers that have been purged with CO₂ and pressurised to 200~250kPa. This is good enough to keep the coffee for several months and still be as fresh as within the first week of roasting.

  • +1

Can't recommend Airjo enough for both the coffee and amazing customer service.

Had an issue where the courier couldn't find our new office building and it got returned to sender. Dan was awesome and sorted it out without any hassles. Got a new bag of beans with a fresh roast date sent out to my home address a couple of days later.

Just ordered Enterprise, which is my go to blend for my Breville Smart Grinder Pro and DeLonghi Dedica set up.

Zero out of ten for use of the large capitalised bold italic font on FREE EXPRESS SHIPPING
What's your definition express? I ordered last Wednesday & Auspost is now saying Tuesday for delivery to Adelaide.

    • Go and have a whinge to Auspost, maybe it'll help. It used to be that Express Post was guaranteed next day delivery between capital cities and if it was late you'd get a replacement Express Post satchel, effectively making the delivery free.

For what it's worth, my AIRJO delivery arrived around 9am on Saturday morning. I was expecting it on Friday. At least the coffee didn't sit in some hot warehouse or in a van all weekend.

      • glad you got your beans … 6+ days is not express post.
I was expetecting friday - latest update from auspost is they're still sweating in burleigh waters qld.

first & last order with airjo

        • I am sure it was not their fault but the post office’s

  • Also just today took delivery of a SUMATRA BLEND for the first time.
Well you guys produce some fantastic beans, The wife and I were blown away!
Keen to try some of your other blends.
