Mukka is reopening their restaurant in Fitzroy and are offering 50% discount on bill for dine-in customers.

      I am very surprised! I thought $4 was ridiculous. We seriously need to stop putting Indian food on a pedestal. It’s one food that shouldn’t be this expensive given much of it can be prepared in bulk.

        Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to justify the price (I agree $6.5 for naan is very overpriced) but pointing out that the general trend is food prices jumped up 20-30% and some are probably taking the opportunity to increase as well.

  I’ve eaten at Mukka in the past and it was very tasty. My disclaimer is I’m an over 60 white lady. Will be interesting to try them in the new premises. In the old premises they did seem to have a fair few people including a reasonable number of Indian people.

  Even a pub meal in Fitzroy is going to be north of $20. The fancier ones are north of $30.

  If people want a cheap meal in Fitzroy then Naked for Satan does $3 Pizzas if you buy a drink on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. They are proper sized pizzas. The prosciutto one was very good but the Patata one was a tad dry. We teamed ours with a 1L of white Sangria for $27 (available 4-7pm) which was extremely good and went down way too easy. They have a happy hour between 4 to 6 pm.

    I think the price of the mains is Fitzroy. The price of the naans, starters etc is Vue De Monde

      Maybe a teensy bit of an exaggeration? However, I can see your point. They do seem to be pretty busy, most of the time, so people must be accepting this. I, suspect, they’ve moved across the road for bigger premises. The interesting thing is since the new place stopped being Joe’s garage it has been the graveyard of a number of restaurants. Also there is another Indian restaurant in the same block. This will be interesting to watch.

      My budget doesn’t spread to Vue de Monde proper but I have eaten at their Bistro and Cafe.

  Great food, would reccomend. One of my Indian friends took her parents here, and they liked it. Another said this is where she takes her white friends (me lol). Butter chicken is my go to, and this is my favourite place. Been here a few times, $$ but so good. The owner is lovely too.
