    Dyson-designed presentation case

    says it all

I don't care how good it is, I refuse to believe this is worth $500, when professional hairdressers and barbers use Parlux hair dryers day-in and day-out that cost significantly less

It's a luxury item at that price given its function, people don't use logic when buying luxury.

    • +4

Brands like apple, tesla and dyson don't follow price rules

      • +6

Teslas aren’t even that costly compared to the average EV, they’re all just too expensive.

        • -1

Teslas are overpriced in the sense that they’re very bad cars

        • Shhh, we're circlejerking here.

Bought my wife the normal version Dyson hairdryer for like $450 or something. Worth it just to avoid industrial deafness most hairdryers will cause with time used.

I don't care how good it is,

Worth when it keeps the misso happy iunno

I was pretty impressed by it.

Worth noting only this colour comes with the nice display box for all instagram bragging rights.

      • Thats why you need to get the newest items like the airwrap and now that corrale straightener

      • Women be shopping

    • The funny thing is this dryer isn't good, I was silly enough to buy one and if you've ever tried one, you'll soon see how little air blows from this compared to a proper hairdryer.
You won't see one of these in any serious hair dressing salon, and it's not just because of the price.
The reason you buy this is purely for it's aesthetics.

I’m not surprised at all. Dyson’s fanless fans are awful, as is the AirBlade. It’s funny how much of their marketing material focuses on their engineering, when Dyson’s MO is solving problems that never existed and figuring out how to do something less efficiently in a novel way

      • My barber uses them. It’s the first time I saw them.

    • My barber uses one of these. I guess cause of how quiet it is?
I kinda want one now after seeing how well it works but meh

Bought Xiaomi’s supersonic hair dryer and very impressed with it, compared with friend’s Dyson and I don’t see the value in Dyson why they charging that much for so much less difference.

    • Got a link?

      • Got lots on eBay, simply search Xiaomi hair dryer

  • Is there any Dyson Corrale Straightener on special?

Available direct from Dyson in blue blush for $452.50 using 5% Cashrewards code and 5% cashback. Also comes with a free gift set (barrel brush and detangling comb) and optional debossing of initials on the presentation case.

Dyson has all of the straighteners for $499 so if you don't care about the gift set/debossing and/or want a different colour, you could ask JB to price match and then also use discounted TCN gift cards to bring it down to $424. The Dyson Black Friday sale ends 27th Nov, so plenty of time to grab the gift cards.

For those looking to buy as a gift, you can buy direct from Dyson using the 5% Cashrewards code and additional 5% cashback that ends today, which gets you a free gift set (barrel brush and detangling comb), optional debossing of initials on the presentation case and optional gift wrapping.

    Total of $452.50 ($499 - $24.95 coupon - $21.55 cashback)

Each to their own whether you think the gift set, debossing, gift wrapping is worth an extra $30 (when paying with discounted JB cards). I personally think so, and hopefully my partner does too!

    • With Dyson, it doesn’t hurt to contact their chat and try to get a discount code

How long is this on sale for at JB?

  • For those in NSW or don't mind paying for shipping (or free shipping w/eBay Plus), the Dyson Supersonic is available from Bing Lee on eBay for $499, add on an item $1 or more then you can use the eBay coupon SAVNOV23 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/809600) to get $50 off your cart. So it could end up <$460.
