Correct, figure 8 power adaptor and extensions (hard to find longer than 2m).
Yes power cable goes through the stand. There might be 20 to 40 cms of cord left out of the stand depending on how high you put your speakers up. You will need 1 or 2 extension cords for sure.

Ad says they only support 11lbs or 5kg, my surrounds are nearly double that. Any feedback on whether they'd handle 9kg?
I wouldn't risk it. These stands tend to be for small satellite speakers such as those small ones that come with soundbars
There are strong enough but probably not stable if you were to bump them. Up to 5kg is probably fit for a reason
When I see the support weight of a stand I normally halve it and treat that as the actual real world spec.

im going to try use these on my Presonus Eris 3.5BT's.. use them as rear speakers in the lounge.. and use the tv speakers for as the front speakers. will that be good enough? will it make a massive difference if i get one of those sound bars to use instead of the tv speakers?

Just check not too flimsy in comparison, could be for those little wired surrounds that weighs next to nothing I assume, but specs say up to 5kg too.

Thought I’d give these ago after reading such good reviews - they’re bloody brilliant. Very happy, using them for my Samsung rears. Very sturdy, well constructed.
I can’t work out how to mount them correctly. The speaker sits loosely on the stand even when screwed in to what feels like the complete length. This is with q990c speakers. Any tips?
Mine are a tad older (2020 model from memory) - do you have the back plate screwed in tightly to the metal base as well?
