Unless there is something special about this unit, the GB / dollar aspect is not very inspiring.

    • yeah there are 500gb drives available at this pricepoint

this one is poorly reviewed, as I remember.

  • One can get 1TB for around $80-$90 at the moment, so I guess it is not really a good value for money.

unless your budget is $50 and you don't need more than 320Gb…

Well said, jv. I was going to drop by OW tonight for a 32GB stick for my new set-top box, but I think I might stretch another $25 for 10x the storage. The box won't take more than 1TB and 320GB is plenty anyway.

  • Its not a good deal considering I got a 1.5 TB for $127.30. Here is the link http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/80770

Not everyone needs 1.5 tb or to spend more money than they need to. By your reasoning you'd buy more than you need of everything and might think you're saving money but if you don't need so much you're not saving anything.

  • I think because it is USB 3.0 its considered a cheap price.

    • usb powered? hoping as most 2.5 HDD's are and extra cable for power is very annoying

I think around $30 will be the right price for 320GB.

    • i'm pretty sure i paid around $150 for a WD 320Gb around 2 years ago…

      • i paid iomega 500GB portable drive for $80 14 months ago

maybe it was closer to 3 years ago…

  • I stopped in at my local OW and bought one last night. It's an Imation, it's 320GB, and it's USB 3.0. But it doesn't look like the one in the picture. Frankly, it looks better. It's also very thin.

    • pretty sure it's 7mm which will fit into any ultrabook which is pretty cool tbh
