  • that i9 one looks like a decent deal.

  • +1

Hot damn - luke my man—- your going to make the mrs have a heart attack when she sees me upgrade again

    • +7

      act now, worry later

    • +2

Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission

  • +4

nice one, should have an option of 7800x3d instead of i9 i recon

  • Its getting hard…

    • +4

Make sure you have a condom in hand.

  • +4

I wish one of those was with a 7800x3d instead of intel.

    • +2

For the price, you really can't complain.

The build with the i9-13900KF is cheaper than BPC's recent 7800X3D/RTX 4080 build and the parts selection/quality is otherwise pretty much identical (minus subjective stuff like the case).

Might as well take the extra ~10% CPU performance.

      • I didn't mention the price, just the brand. I don't want to buy an intel CPU, so I'm not interested in this builds only because of that, while the rest of it is good enough for the price. It wouldn't add a whole lot of money so swap that 13900kf to the 7800x3d. So yes, I can complain :)

        • True, I would also opt for a 7800X3D just as an F U to Intel's monopoly and stagnant R&D in CPU tech.

I can't disagree that the 7800X3D is literally the best desktop CPU on the market for 90% of users right now unless you really need the better productivity performance that Intel CPUs can offer.

But fanboyism aside, these deals are probably the best gaming PC builds of the entire year in terms of raw performance-per-dollar.

          • +1

@Gnostikos: 14th gen might be noticably better for gaming once intel gets out more games for their APO which is really impressive, however they don't plan to roll it out to older cpus :(

            • @Kazusa: Its sad that 12th and 13th gen folks are left out. Reminds me of framegen.

          • -1

@Gnostikos: True dat, the first build at 2300$ with a 4080 is rock bottom price for that GPU. It's hard to find one below 1900 so that makes that the whole thing that much interesting! and at last a decent value for that terrible $/fps that the 4080 is.

            • -1

@Baradhur: you can almost bet 4080 GPU price will drop soon

mostly bec 4080S and 4070TIS is coming, if 4070TIS most likely 1300-1500. doesnt make sense to pay 500 more for 15% performance increase and it will have 16GB VRAM too, so same as 4080. max you pay like 20% more. so should be around 1600-1700.

4080S is going to be like 5-10% faster, probably sit around 2k. you want a decent price gap b/w the S and non-s so again looking like 1600-1700.

I am guessing we will see deal on 4080 and 4070TI for BF, probably around 1600-1700 for 4080.

The recent price increase for 4080 mostly due to shop not willing to have sale before BF and china driving price up. (the whole 4090 ban thing in china has pushed up 4080 price there too, so more supply for china, less for the rest of world)

Note this will become a more "normal price" for 4080 once 4080S price become stabilized around 2K mark. At start it will be stupid like 2500 ish.

              • @jenesis33: Well let's hope what you see in your crystal ball is true. I'm gonna try to snatch a 4070ti for BF, and my hope is to be able to get one around 1100$ (which was close to msrp for the 3080 damn you nvidia).

                • @Baradhur: 4070TI I would not pay 1100 for it. At least it should be around 1000.

4070TIS and 4070S will make 4070TI very very bad for that price.

Because not only S is a lot faster it also come with 16GB VRAM so you are much better for 4K and future.

If you dont game at 4K, then 4070 or 4070S is fast enough.

So yeah if you ask me, i would only pay around 1K for 4070TI. if you are willing to pay 1100 for TI, then wait for Super and see what happens. Can't be worse than now.

              • +1

@jenesis33: nvidia stopped producing 4070Ti and 4080 for the very same reason. They dont want to sell anything for cheap. Sorry, no price drops.

                • @John Doh: the store will still have to clear their stock though. So even if NV no longer produce those chips.

Store will probably need to have sale soon or later to get rid of existing cards and clear the Market space for Super ones.

Right now all rumors are saying Super series will not come with a price uplift. So if they are same or 100 more expensive then it is a good deal comparing to existing cards.

                  • @jenesis33: At this point, I am assuming there will be very little overlap between 4080 and the 4080 Super probably due to thin stock levels and with 4090 ban, lots of it will head to china. If there was a healthy stock, there would have probably be discounts already. But this is just speculation. A lot of wafers were diverted to AI chips.

                    • @John Doh: If there is stock, the sale will be for BF, why would they discount now?

Make a lot of sense to have a big sale for BF and clear stock at same time.

So I think we will see some sale on 4080/4070TI for BF for sure.

    • -2

Hell yeah spend more money because you need to fanboy for AMD, treating it like sports teams you support

you sound like a typical redditor lmao

      • I couldn't care less what you think, I've done my research and that's the cpu I'm aiming for in my situation with my objectives and my budget. If you're unhappy with that, that's your problem, child.

        • -1

k grown adult who thinks fangirling for corporations openly is such a good thing and then calls others the child

maybe one day you'll grow up from your 10 year old mindset

  • Luke you got my heart racing going through checkout at work - got my order though (also the autofill address wasn't working for the right suburb so I did a manual entry, will this be an issue?)

    • Shouldn't be - if it comes to dispatch time and the system doesn't recognise it for whatever reason we'll get in touch. Thanks for the purchase!

  • I wish I could change the case, seems like a good deal though

  • +1

Been waiting months for a deal like this, got one of the 13900s.
Been a while since I've jumped on a deal that hard, good value!

    • I received my build and have had issues with the display ports… have you had any issues?

  • Thanks Luke!
Great Deal… Really appreciate how you have been posting the details of the actual parts to be used lately. It's very helpful to know the actual components.

  • Is the verto 4080 the same as the XLR8 without the RGB?

    • It's not identical visually either in terms of the shroud (ie doesn't have exactly the same design just no lights), but seems to share the same PCB and has the same clock speed.

      • Only thing I care about is the noise really

  • My only criticism is the very, very limited stock for these builds.

If you posted the deal for the $3,000 build by itself I think it would easily be removed for having "insufficient stock" to meet posting guidelines.

Hopefully you guys can put out some more epic deals leading up to the end of the year.

Otherwise, that's outstanding value for both of these PCs. Easily the best value gaming PC deals on OzBargain of the entire year.

  • What is the location for the Return To Base Warranty? thanks

    • Adelaide, SA

  • Damn. Hit to pay and out of stock. Oh well, was an impulse purchase anyway.

    • I feel your pain, same thing!

      • My friend… my brother…

    • Back with another 5 units - go go go

      • Bam!

        Thanks!

      • lol. I think it’s a sign I can’t have nice things lol.

  • Is it possible to send all the components still in their sealed boxes, i prefer to do the assembly myself?

    • re sell some parts?

    • Lol, no PC vendor is going to do that.

For a start, it would require a much larger shipping box which would blow out the shipping costs quite a bit.

Secondly, it'd kill their profit margin and they wouldn't be able to offer all of the parts individually for anywhere close to the value they can with a prebuilt system.

      • Why is that? Don't they use all brand new components?

I know with the recent 11/11 sale event in China, the pc vendors are required to send all components individually in sealed boxes, just to prevent them using used or refurbished parts.

        • Lol, wtf is with the negs?

Go ahead and ask ANY PC vendor to ship you one of their prebuilt systems as individually-boxed components. They'll be laughing.

It's got nothing to do with using refurbished/used parts and everything to do with the assembly/labour markup being a big component of the profit margin for prebuilt systems. Otherwise the margins on individual parts are just too low for them to offer a combined parts purchase for the same cost as some prebuilt gaming system.

          • @Gnostikos: I didn't neg you
And can you stop the (profanity) lol? It is (profanity) annoying, are you a (profanity) child? Not trying to argue here, just wondering why.

          • @Gnostikos: Still makes no sense, i will be paying the same price, not asking for a lower price

            • -3

@angilinwago: Let me dumb it down for you even further…

When a supplier sells a part to a vendor, they pay a cost price which is usually very close to the price they'll sell it to a customer for hence the profit margin low is very low.

When they offer a prebuilt system to a customer, they can add a higher markup on all of those parts combined via the value-add of assembling, testing and shipping a turnkey, ready-to-use solution as well as the warranty. After selling X amount of prebuilt systems, they have made significantly higher profit margins on their stocks of individual parts than they would have just selling the parts themselves.

And can you stop the (profanity) lol? It is (profanity) annoying, are you a (profanity) child?

What are you on about? So I used "wtf" and you're having a chimp out?

Are you another one of those single-tear people who get hysterically enraged by text on the Internet?

              • @Gnostikos: What has this got to do with the above question?

If you’re paying the same price, I don’t see any reason to not send all the parts instead of the system (bar shipping costs)

                • -3

@cille745: Because it's not a controlled product anymore so it makes resolving warranty claims a nightmare and opens up a liability can of worms.

How are they going to offer an RTB system warranty on a bunch of parts that they never assembled, tested and guaranteed themselves?

Once you take delivery of the said parts and use them, it becomes very murky to determine whether any issues are user-induced as the vendor didn't assemble it (which is where a lot of issues arise) so they can't guarantee that the basic assembly has been carried out correctly and some muppet hasn't shorted his mobo out because he forgot to put the stand-off screws in.

Some vendors also void system warranties if you make any changes to system yourself.

There's too many variables that come into play if a vendor is selling an entire system deconstructed, e.g. potential shipping/transit damage for one parcel versus a dozen is much harder to determine, shipping costs go up significantly, determining the start date of the RTB warranty period (when you received the parts or built the system and confirmed it's all working?), more admin/accounting work on the vendor's side to track dozens of smaller purchases as opposed to one PC, etc.

From the vendor's perspective, it becomes a really unappealing proposition with a lot more risk compared to selling a prebuilt system.

The other reason a vendor can offer cheaper prices on prebuilt systems versus on those same parts purchased individually is that they're banking on the fact that there will be less warranty claims with prebuilt systems which will save them more money in the long-term. Buyers of prebuilt systems are also more likely to be less tech-savvy, repeat customers who'll come back for upgrades or new systems in the future, so it's a money-making proposition.

Whenever a customer raises a warranty claim on an individual part, vendors typically have to side with the customer and eat the loss, regardless of who's at fault because it's just too time-consuming and difficult to try and prove conclusively someone was at fault other than in very obvious cases (e.g. DOA parts). Ever since the ACCC started policing ACL compliance in the computing/electronics retailer market more thoroughly and got all of the usual dodgy operators (e.g. MSY) in line in recent years, vendors are not inclined to play hardball and try and get out of warranty claims these days.

              • @Gnostikos: I'm paying the price of a prebuild system, but instead of assembling it, i ask if it's possible to send me the individual parts and i will pay for the extra shipping if needed.

What part of this is so difficult for you to understand?

                • @angilinwago: His stubborn refusal to comprehend alternative viewpoints leads him to resort to personal attacks. This is a recurring theme with this bloke.

          • @Gnostikos: It's also easier and more convenient (some cases longer) to use factory warranty of the individual parts rather than having to ship the entire machine back to base waiting for it to be fixed.

    • +1

I've requested this before from BPC Tech for a build for the same reason and they were happy to ship all the parts new and sealed for extra $$ for shipping the case + parts separately. Can't see why this wouldn't be an option…Saves them the labour of building it.

Not sure why @Gnostikos finds this so inconceivable??

  • Well we have the current console one ups. Bring on the 4080 PCs one ups I say.

  • limit to 5 units lol

    • just going to have to wait for nebula to enter the chat

      • Nebula don't do 4080, they have AMD stock

    • And it is gone

  • +1

Nice good to see some well priced 4080 builds on here recently, do we expect to see further price drops once 4080 super releases?

    • +1

Yeah but like, in English… what does that mean?

  • Lucky I didn’t see this, would have purchased the i7 for sure

    • +1

The i7 version is still live!

  • Man wished you have Humm as a payment method 😞 would definitely pull a trigger

  • +1

    need a 4090 deal

  • Sold out again.

  • +5

sold 10 units at $3k just like that - and ppl want more

    rate rise incoming December !

    • Yea stop spending you rich people. You're making it hard for the poor people like me

  • +1

Order Placed. Thanks! Looking forward to this!!!!!

  • +2

    Come on more i-9!!

  • Possible to change 12700f to Amd 7500f?

  • @luketechfast Any chance of a 7900XTX build over the next week?

  • Any chance of a 7900x deal?

  • Would have been better if it's a DDR5 build for the i7.

  • +7

Just saying, keep feeding the market with 5 then 5 then 5..

I dont really like this tactics. You should say 20 to start with.

Or at least mention I have 10 which i can confirm, if there is demand i can try to source more.

This just feels dodgy controlling supply.

  • great

  • 7800x3d build plz

  • Quick q. Now that I’m officially a pc gamer again (flash games still a thing, l hope), how does Linux go for gaming?

Should I bother formatting and installing windows onto it?

    • Its mostly great, but still have some quirks. Most of the game I play works great, but some - e.g. world of tanks, world of warships etc can be finicky

      Checkout proton db

      • Thanks. I’ll just load up windows then.

  • Are all the parts brand new or refurbished?

    • All, always, brand new.

  • +1

Cant believe you can buy a whole powerful desktop for less than the price of a 4090!

  • +1

4070 Ti and 4080 production has been officially stopped by NV to prepare for the January announcement of the SUPER cards

4080 is the worst selling 40 series card by far so there are truckloads waiting to be cleared in the next few months

Expect someone to offer a sub $2K 4080 build before Christmas

    • +3

They've been saying this since release but no dice yet and price has actually gone up

    • Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it.

The one trend that has held true since 2020 is everything computing-related has been going up in price year after year and OEMs are loving the fact that they've been getting away with rampant price-gouging due to ongoing, largely contrived supply issues. They're not going to give up this charade anytime soon.

  • dam I missed out

  • +1

@luketechfast do you sell any PCs without a graphics card?

    • We have in the past, like a couple of years ago during COVID, but not during peak period.

      • Can I ask that Intel CPU do you recommend?
Just after beast machine. Might run vms.
        Adobe creative cloud etc.

I am NOT a gamer so NO GPU at this stage.

        Is Intel 13 gen i5 13600. 14 cores enough?

Or Intel 13th gen i9 13900 24 core is best.

Mobo z790 or 690 is enough?

        I would go for 64GB ddr4 or ddr5 accordingly.

  • @luketechfast Hey luke cracker deal. My mate has $800 to spend on a PC I was wondering if you guys were doing a sub $1K build deal anytime soon? Thanks
