SW321C supports HDR.
SW321C has 250 nits peak brightness and no local dimming which amounts to piss poor contrast ratio, HDR10 is pretty much a scam term that isn't worth the paper (or webpage) that it's printed on. If a monitor isn't an apple xdr display or an oled/qled, 99% chance that any claims of HDR is marketting fluff. This includes terms like 'HDR400/600' or HDRn't as others would say.
Seems to be a substantial difference in max brightness - 400 cd/m2 (= nits) for the BenQ 27" U series vs 600 cd/m2 'typical brightness' for Samsung ViewFinity S9 vs 600 nits (= cd/m2) for Apple Studio Display and the latter two are both thunderbolt 5K displays rather than 4K.
Even on discount why would you go for the BenQ? The hood? The stand?
Both Apple Studio Display & Samsung ViewFinity are 27". BenQ SW321C is 32". The included hood in BenQ SW321C is actually very useful & purposely made for the monitor, no need to resort for a third party / DIY method.
SW321C also comes with a programmable mode dial on the base of the stand, which is very useful in some ways & fairly convenient, instead of buying additional tools to do the same job.
