Gaming PC Barebone with i7-12700, 16GB D4 RAM, 512GB SSD, 600W Bronze PSU $699 + Delivery @ BPC Tech

530

Good evening guys,

Ready to pull the trigger on the Black Friday deal? Or u did already like me (PS5 Controller MidnightBlack only $75 on Amazon) :D

Previously the deal was $799 with bonus peripherals

Today the sales manager decided to remove the peripherals but make it $699!

It is the barebone based on the 12th Gen Intel Nuc extreme platform, Solid ITX Solution, and the case supports GPU lengths up to 300mm.

Earlier this year we sponsored 25 units (12700+3070) on Dreamhack Melbourne, and after 3 days all PCs survived.

Even the Intel team surprisingly mentioned to us how other PCs kept fk-up but all of our units ran smoothly during the event :D

The Build specs:

Kraken Nuke 110 Compact Gaming PC BF SE

KP X Cougar 12th Gen Nuc Case (PSU & 2 RGB Fans included)
Intel Extreme Unit + Baseboard
Intel i7-12700
HP 512GB SSD (2 X 256GB) OEM Version (Samsung/Kioxia/WD/SK Hynix)
Lexar 16GB DRAM DDR4 3200 MHz SODIMM Laptop Memory
GPU Options Available

My favorite combo is downgrade CPU to i5-12400f then select the RX 6700 OR 3070 as GPU.

Again for any support/sales enquiries, plz don't hesitate to contact us!

Sincerely,
BPC Team

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2023

        • So far we haven't tried to disassemble the PSU unit from the case, you can try but most likely not fit :)

  • +1

How does this compare to something like the Intel NUC 12 Enthusiast Kit Barebone Mini PC, Core i7-12700H?

  • Hi OP

I received mine today. Beautiful machine btw.
However mine came with 2 x WD SN530 256 GB SSD instead of 512 GB Lexar as per description

    • Hi Bonking,

It should be 2 X 256GB KIOXIA Gen 3 SSD, the listing guy forgot to mention it on the listing page just updated.

The Ram we use is Lexar :)

Would you mind sharing ur order number with me so I can check with the team?

      Sincerely,
      BPC Team

      • Hi Op

        Order #BPC000196782

Also, would have been nice the manual for the case and Nic kit included. I spent sometime trying to open the case. Couldn’t find online manual either.

Other than that I’m happy with the unit.

      • Yeah I would like the manual as well thanks.

      • I was expecting 1 drive >.<

      • I emailed sales asking for my 2x256GB drives to be swapped to 1x512GB and I was told I will need to pay to ship the 2 drives back to BPC

    • Did you get the white? Wondering if the white is worth the extra $50?

      • I got grey one.
        Case is really nice though.

  • I'm thinking of grabbing this as a media server, some planned home automation and other general 24/7 tasks.
The iGPU would handle Plex transcoding, and enough CPU power to do what i need. only issue is no 3.5 HDD support, i guess i could look at external drives
anyone using this for a media server?

    • I thought about this for future use, you might be able to hack a drive holder and mount it where the GPU sits or use a thunderbolt external enclosure

      • i was thinking the same, doesnt need to look pretty as it will be out of sight. it's this or a Beelink N100 or an i5 NUC, however this is very tempting at the power / price point

  • Hi Store OP, thinking of purchasing one of these units, my main question is does it have Audio Jack 3.5mm ports?

  • +1

The unit came with Wi-Fi 6E AX211 built in but no cable for the antenna included. Need to get MMCX/M to SMA.
No 3.5mm jack, although there is a sealed port above USB C port which look like 3.5 mm, but don't think it connected. https://ibb.co/37FwF8b

    • Thanks for the info, appreciate it.

    • Did you opt for the non- wifi model? Also is the AX211 chip being detected by the OS?

    • @bonking hi, were you able to sort wifi?

  • Hi can anyone please share the specs of the i5-12400F please? I googled but cannot find it.
On Intel website, I could find the i7 and i9 one but not this i5-12400F. I’ll be interested to know the ports as I assume there won’t be HDMI/DP and want to see any other difference. Thanks!

  • Thinking of getting this with the AMD sapphire pulse RX6700 10g graphics card & 32gb ram upgrade.

I'm using it as an office computer with some viewing of medical 3d imaging. Are the dark silver 750w fully modular PSU & $49 Wifi Upgrade intel wifi 6 ax200 kit +$39 upgrades worthwhile?

  • @BPC Technology
    Is this till available?
Do both CPU options have 10Gbit LAN connectivity?

    • Yes still available and yes the lan spec won't change :)

    • Mine came with 2 Ethernet port (10 gb& 2.5 gb)

  • Is the upgrade to Lexar 1TB going to be 1x 1TB or 2x 512GB?

    • It will be 1 X 1TB :)

  • Anyone know what the power connectors are for the 600W PSU and the 750W PSU. I notice that all the options for the GPU only require one 8 pin power connector.

I was thinking about putting in a GPU that would need more than 1 power connector.

    • I got the 750W PSU upgrade and mine came with 2 modular cables installed 1 with 1x8 pin pcie and 1 with 2x8 pin pcie

    • I got the 600W PSU and came with 2 modular pcie cables, 1 with 1x8 pin and 1 with 2x8 pin.
      Powering MSI RTX 3060 12GB

      • Do any of the 8 pin cables (more on the 750w one) split out into a 6 pin?

  • +1

can we have this deal back for boxing Day? 😊

    • Just an FYI: it’s back on now.

      • you're legend! thanks

  • +1

How long will this deal run for?

    Until late Dec :)

I was going to order this weekend :(

    • I was going to order today

      • I’m hoping that tomorrow being Monday that the rep will respond. Hopefully it’s some sort or mistake.

      • It just switched back over and I got my order in. I didn’t get an alert on that. Only found out by regularly checking the BPC page.

  • yes come to think of it why did it expire? you said Dec 20th

  • does anyone else who bought one have working front panel USB-C? mine seems to push power to the drive as it lights up but I can't see anything anywhere in windows (my computer, disk manager, diskpart)

    • +1

Yes front USB C working. Maybe yours the connector header disconnected.

      • I got mine working, must have come loose in shipping or something, I just unplugged it and plugged it back in

  • Didnt this have free postage before it expired?

    • nope I bought on the 22nd Nov and it was $35 to Brisbane for me

  • Can this run Anno 1800?

  • Does this come with 2 x hdmi or 2 x DP ports to run dual monitors?

    • Depends on your GPU selection.
Base unit has 1x HDMi and 2 Thunderbolt (c type)

      • How about the integrated gpu?

        • The base unit is the integrated GPU.

  • Hi, can this be upgraded to have wifi and a decent GPU?

    • Yes

  • Got mine today. Took about a week and a half. Pretty good with holiday time rushes

  • did anyone find a power rating sticker on their power supply? I upgraded to the 750W Gold and cannot see a sticker, I also can't find a model number, best I can find is a serial number which I couldn't find any info for. Looking up Kraken Power I can't find any power supplies under their name or a website for that brand. Using google translate didn't provide anymore useful info on the chinese writing

As others noted, no manuals were provided so I can't find any information on this power supply

    https://imgur.com/a/F3rZGea

  • Received mine and only had the chance to opened it up now.
Questions for those that received theirs.

    1. Did you have an OS installed?
    2. Does your front usb-c port work?
    3. Anyone experiencing "Power surge on the usb port' message keeps popping up?

All my usb are working on the back but front doesn't. No OS installed but that isn't a big issue. Just had to find the drivers for the wifi then installed the rest.
Had to update my firmware due to the "Power surge on the usb port" error. Uninstalled all usb drivers as per Intel website instructions to no avail.

Pretty much stuck with the error message prompting non stop even with no usb device plugged in. Even reinstalled Windows 11 again with updates without any luck.

Have shoot off a message to BPC but yeah don't think they'll get back to me till Monday, so seeing if anyone else is experience the same issue.

      1. Yes. Windows came installed - no cd key as I didn't pay for it etc.
      2. Yes USB at the front works. Someone said above their header for it fell out in transit inside the PC.
      3. No such error. Running fine so far.

Sounds like something is going on with yours etc.

      • Thanks.
Mine didn't come with windows at all and it came up with 'a bootable device has not been detected' F10 didn't help with either SSDs.

Also talking to the one reported front usb issue, he said his front usb is connected to the White port.
Mine is connected to the black. The one below the white one.
Do you mind checking your if it's connected to the top (white) or bottom (black)?

        https://imgur.com/a/nWb112o

        • I do have a black cable plugged into that white one. Like a wide flat black cable. Not sure what it is though. Have not opened it up yet and trying to avoid doing so cos I need to transport it some more.

Considering they test the PC for qc. I think yours should have Windows installed.

  • Hey BPC,
Any chance you can do the 12900 board but with the 12400F CPU?
I need the 2 x LAN ports but not the CPU, and can't fork the $ difference between the two.

    • just use a usb 2.5GBe adapter?

      • It’s the most likely option. Would just prefer it all built in.

        • Yeah you will most likely need to pay at least $100 more.

    • Hi Fury.

Yeah we could manage that, but as comment below mentioned the cost will be higher than the i7 model.

      Cheers,
      BPC Team

      • One further question, do you know the stepping / CPU code for the 12400f?
        Sorry to be a pain.
        Thanks!

  • +1

Hi there, what is the lead time if i were to order now?
    Thanks

    • I've ordered one today, would like to know this as well :D

    • Hi Niaq00,

Currently, for the Nuc unit we looking at 5-7 business days to build!

      Sincerely,
      BPC Team

      • I ordered on the 2nd, so that means i am now on 8th business day. Called in today and they said up to 14 business days now.

  • +1

For anyone interested, spoke to the OP and a 12400 option has been added to the listing which brings it to $549. Wasn't keen on getting a GPU atm, this will do for the time being

    • I feel like I have been doing very well to continue resisting this deal for a month. This does not make it any easier. :)

      • I couldn't resist when OP said sure we can do 12400 😂😂

I was going to build mitx for media server, my 6th gen is getting a bit too old for the job.

        • I reckon spenidng the extra $150 for the the 12700… may be worth it however…

          • @Kelvin: I could have but I would rather spend that money on a GPU which is needed for madVar and upscaling video. The prices isn't processor heavy.

From my use case of media cemtre, i5 will have a very similar output when compared to the i7

            • @abs898: the 12700 and 12900 are incredibly expensive and hard to find compared to the 12700K and 12900K variants..
and the "K" variants don't work in the Nuc 12 Extremes…

Thoese wanting to upgrade later on.. are going to find it tricky / expensive to get hold of the CPUs..

So long you are happy with 6 performance cores and 12 threads and no efficent cores.. there's no issues then…

Getting a 12700 at the moment is around $500 and a 12900 around the $700

              • @Kelvin: I got 1 12700f on Ebay for $250

                • @rainbowyen: For those who have one how quiet is the actual machine?
Could it be left on 24/7 in a bedroom without being noticed at idle?
Anyone have any idle current draw measurements?
Does it actually have two sata ports in addition to the 3xm2’s?

  • +1

    Everyone, check your machines carefully…

I've got a backward panel on one of mine..
On the solid side panel.. my fan grill holes are in the top right, not the bottom left… where the power supply fan is…!!

Would not have noticed.. however.. I have two other Kraken minis, where the orientation is correct…
and no you cant turn the panel upside down.. a small peg prevents it from closing…

Sigh.. have just raised a warranty repair… hopefully. they will sort it out… this will be the first time using BPC warranty services…

    • Thanks Kelvin. Would you Ming poating the correct orientation here?

    • Thanks Kelvin!

Thanks for volunteering to be my/our NUC personal support person hehe

I'll report back how my one arrives later in the week.

      • +1

        Filled out an rma..
        Checked in my account.
        said "waiting return.."
Drove to BPCtech in person with the machine and forms..
fully expecting to have to leave the machine or panel behind.. and pickup the replacement at another time .
Explained the situation to the guy at the counter… who took a good look at the panel / machine and their machine on display..
then went out the back and grabed a replacement… and I was on my way, in less than 5 minutes..
Excellent service!!!.. can't speak any more highly..

    • I still can't use my machine which I bought 22/11/23.
BPC sent the wrong drives and then the replacement that was provided to me arrived dead >.<
I am in the process of asking them to send another.

Now I have this added on, I did notice when I got my case that the vents were in a strange position but with a lack of documentation I just assumed it was a bad design :(

  • So this doesn't come with bluetooth??? Will the 12400F option have bluetooth built -in ???

    • Come with the AX211 installed as default.. however without the wifi antennaes..
If you get the appropriate internal cables installed.. wifi and bluetooth becomes functional…

      • you have to find them from ali express….

BPC has a wifi option.. AX200 (but I dont know if it includes the correct cabels to get bluetooth going as well).

        • BPC doesn't install the wifi/bluetooth by default??? wtf … is buyers expected to open up the machine and do it themself? wont that void warranty?

          • @ChibsQT: When I bought my machine, they didn't have a wifi option…
they told me to buy a USB dongle.., which you can do for bluetooth or wifi..

you can have a look at my review here
            https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/kraken-mini-nuke-…

The machine is fairly easy to open.. no warranty stickers..
Heck if you go with the 12400F, you have to open up the machine to install a graphics card yourself..

            • @Kelvin: How are the noise levels? Did you end up sorting out fan control?

        • I used these for wifi, they worked great, I just disconnected the old wifi cables under the back plate and plugged the new ones in (left the old cables in the case), these work with the PCIE cover cutouts instead of the case, makes working inside the machine easier for cleaning or upgrades

          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/126113517343

  • This deal is still available at time of posting.

    • +1

Price has gone up $100 as of yesterday afternoon.

  • +1

If anyone's still waiting on their order there's a 4-6 week wait now. Apparently the base boards aren't in stock and are being sourced overseas. I opted to cancel.

    • Thanks. I was planning to order if the price dropped again but might just look at building something instead, and not having to worry about fitting a GPU in when the time comes.

    • When did you order yours? I ordered on 2nd Jan, got a call two days ago saying my build was commencing.

      • I ordered on the 8th.

      • 2 Jan here too, 11:58 to be precise.
