  • Do you guarantee we'll be able to hit 10GBPS? Did you maybe mean Gbps?

    Peak hour speeds the same?

    • -7

      Hello,

Yes, by 10 GBPS speed means, our servers can handle this much speed.

Let say, if you have a internet connection of 5 GBPS and a XYZ VPN provider servers can manage speed upto 2GBPS, when you connect to the server of that VPN provider, you could max avail a speed of 2 GBPS.

Our server can manage 10 GBPS speed, so if you have a 10 GPBS internet connection you will get the same or hardly 10% reduced speed.

You can test this speed. Visit our live chat support and ask them a free test account, give them a reference of Ozbargain (I have instructed them)

      • Oh, Adam, Adam, that’s why all caps are rarely appropriate.

          Hi Olderman,

Nice to have your comment here.

Well, I was trying to explain the speed a user can get while connecting with a VPN. It obvious if a user has a 1GBPS internet connection, when connecting to our server, he can not get 10GBPS speed.

BTW, we have no caps on our servers, a user can consume any bandwidth.

Just to clear the speed content, we ranked 11th by TechRadar recent speed test. Please check this article, the speed results are mentioned at the bottom.

          • @adammiller12: It was about GB vs Gb.
Gb (gigabit) measures internet speeds (in gigabits per second, Gbps). GB (gigabyte) typically denotes things like file size, storage space, etc. You can say GBPS, but this looks like you’re referring to gigabytes per second, which is 8x of Gbps speed and you basically claim 80 Gbps speed, and this is NOT what’s written on your website, where classic Gbps is used.

            • @olderman: Hi! Olderman,

I got your point. Thanks for the correction. Its 10Gbps.

            • @olderman: The fact we had to explain that doesn't fill me with confidience…

          • @adammiller12: So you're confirming 10GBPS, so thats 80Gbps?

Our server can manage 10 GBPS speed, so if you have a 10 GPBS internet connection you will get the same or hardly 10% reduced speed.

So you have 10GBps lines, equal to your number of users? Each user can consumer 10GBps? Or even Gbps? It's not 10 divided by number of users?

            • @MasterScythe: Hi @MasterScythe

We have 10Gbps servers. Each country has multiple servers at front and backend too and our infrastructure have a load balancer which maintains the performance of servers. If the bandwidth of a server is fully captured a new server automatically enabled to other users who are connecting to the same country server.

      • You can test this speed.

Given that none of us are likely to have a 10gbit connection at home (they're about 3 grand a month…), and there's no actual manual WireGuard setup instructions in sight… (From the look of it, it may require the client)

        No, I don't think I can?

        • Hi @Namidairo

This is why we have kept it at a maximum side so that users will not face speed issues if they are connected to the same server.

We do have manual WireGuard setup instructions, you can get it from the live chat support.

  • @adammiller12 - after seeing this ad (I'll call it an ad vs deal).

Some questions before I try the service offer:

    1. How old is FastestVPN? (As in since VPN services was sold to open public vs founded date of 2016)
    2. Any possibility of RAM servers?
    3. There's servers in countries which mandate data collection laws, most recent of which is India. How do you provide India server but still say no logs kept?
    4. TOS says: "Restrict the use of the FastestVPN services to promote child abuse, nudity, or exploitation. FastestVPN will not tolerate these violations." If no logs kept, how do you know I'm the specific user associated with that violation? Can you then also report me to the authorities?

    Note these are hypothetical questions.

      Hi @nsingh21

I appreciate your questions, and would like to explain them it will help others as well.

      1) We were founded back in 2016.

      2) Yes, we have already mentioned (VR) with the server names listed in the application so that our users can identify which servers are virtual.

      3) We provide Indian server because of great demand from our customer side and to resolve the data collection issue, we kept our Indian servers RAM-based so there is no possibility of data logging.

      4) In TOS, the statement you have quoted is from the heading "VIOLATIONS WE CONDEMN" which means, we straightforwardly prohibit the use of our service against these matters. Because we do not keep logs so we can not provide any data to authorities, but if authorities approach us with their proof, we will terminate the user account.

I hope you got the proper answers to your questions.

Thanks, I don't think those are proper answers at all but appreciate your time to try helping.
