OzBargain YouTube Premium Status Summary ( Credit to Kyou mo Kawaii )

  • Subscribing to India, Turkey, Argentina will require a payment method from the corresponding country. (i.e. You need a credit card from India to sign up for the Indian Premium price). If you are pay these prices then wear your OzBargain badge with pride.
  • Countries like Ukraine, Pakistan, Egypt, Phillipines still work with an overseas payment method, but you will need an VPN to register for it.
  • From what I've heard from others, you pay more if you sign up via Apple. (No surprises there)
  • The cheapest individial YouTube Premium with the least hassle to sign up for is most likely Pakistan (PKR479/month ≈ A$2.63). I have tested this myself 2 weeks ago.
  • They will probably keep patching more countries later on until this loophole is gone, so enjoy whilst you can.

  1. Connect a VPN to a server in Pakistan (Free Urban VPN works both on PC/ Mobile)

  2. Go to https://www.youtube.com/premium and if it shows currency in Pakistan Rupees, continue choosing your membership.

  3. Enter your Pakistan address (get a fake one here and proceed to pay by credit card (it will redirect you to a secure payment vendor gateway (because our bank is in Australia), which will add several cents to your Youtube Premium cost). If the payment declines, just continue to press "buy" and it will eventually redirect you to the secure payment vendor gateway. (Revolut it's recommended)

Note: If you're signing up for a family plan, best to add your Australia family members / accounts into a family group before signing up. To add family members: https://families.google.com/families

  1. Go to https://m.youtube.com/paid_memberships and click on your current subscription. Click “manage” then continue to cancel

  2. Once cancelled, the current subscription will continue until the end of the billing period. But you now have an option to resubscribe back to Youtube Premium

  3. Connect a VPN to a server in Pakistan

  4. Go to https://www.youtube.com/premium and if it shows currency in Pakistan Rupees, continue choosing your membership.

  5. Q: Will I get banned by Google?
A: There’s always a chance, however only a tiny number of people (<5) have actually gotten suspended by Google (see linked previous post in OP). Proceed at your own risk.

  • There is no need for aggression in instances where you are unable to subscribe. Share your experience so everyone can chip in and help out. There are plenty of examples where hacks shared on this platform do not work for some people, but may work for others:

    • Modem reset for faster internet,
    • Cash back program purchase tracking,
    • Price matching an unobtainable deal or price error,

    Just tried today using Pakistan VPN though NordVPN, so far so good.
    Can see premium applied to my usual Youtube account.

    Finally got it working on my iPhone , used nordvpn and Pakistan , worked all the way through and used my westpac cc for payment , I didn’t disconnect the vpn on the payment screen either .

    Good morning all, just an update, I tried going through Pakistan on Tuesday and got through to payment submission but didnt finalise because I was getting old family members sorted. This was on Android device using Nord connected to Pakistan virtual server and Firefox. Today I have tried again to no avail as I am getting stuck at the country verification screen. I am not sure if this route has now been blocked but if anyone can share any tips on what to try next, that would be great. Cheers

    Just got it to work with Surfshark VPN via Malaysia + Firefox (cleared cookies) + Up Bank Card

    A little more expensive compared to other countries (~AUD $5.89)

      I use Surfshark VPN…and tried many countries except Malaysia.

      Basically I changed server location and refreshed the browser for youtube premium and 4 countries said the error, In my case, Malaysia worked when I switched it to Malaysia and I was able to sign up to family membership…it's more expensive but not $33 a month…currently on a trial and says will be charged about $7.50 + fees next month

    Just a question which may or may not have been discussed but do you absolutely need to create a new account or should your standard one work? I have tried Nord VPN through my mobile, desktop and through multiple countries but they all still show the usual error message.

    Anyone can help me with my issue. Used firefox+urban vpn, connected to ukraine(can’t use pakistan, doesn’t work), got to payment and entered my CC but didn’t give me to put address in? keeps saying error, can’t verify address. even tried disconnecting vpn, still same … anyone have similar issue?

    Just switched to a Philippines individual plan with no hassles; used Windscribe VPN on my phone, payment listed in Peso currency, paid on ING Everyday Visa card. Costs ~A$4.28/month. I did this before reading this Pakistan thread.
    I had been using an annual Indian plan which expired today and couldn't renew being my payment was outside of India.

    After a few days of trying to connect to Youtube PKR, and kept getting the message "Your country cannot be verified", I finally got through and signed up to Premium using Urban VPN. Thanks OP.

    I had a mild panic attack. I had individual plan which had been working for about 2 years (vpn out of india). I cancelled the renew so I could get family but it wasn't working on PC with VPN. I couldn't re-enable my individual plan for some reason either but maybe it was just my payment method. Ended up getting it working for family using my phone and nordvpn out of pakistan. fingers crossed I get years out of this too :)

    Got it working with Firefox + Nordvpn to Ghana + Aus Visa!
    Only about $5/ month for family. Every other country was giving me the 'couldn't be verified' issue.

      Used Firefox + NordVPN to Ghana + Westpac Mastercard and didn't disconnect my VPN on payment screen.

    I follow the instruction and register premium in Pakistan,I added a payment card information and save, then my bank app received a notification a payment of $0.39 is pending. But, I still did not have the premium. Do I need to wait until the payment is approval so I can use the premium? Anyone has the same issue as me before? How to fix? Thanks.

    My debit card expired so I just had to update my payment information on the family account.

    Now all the prices are showing as RS instead of AUD for the regular accounts on the playstore listed under the family account. I have my cards payments listed as an Australian address on my regular accounts.

    Does anyone know how to fix this? I'd like to buy stuff off the play store but not in RS, it has also given me the Pakistan Play Store.

    Managed to get this working with Urban VPN (Pakistan) + verified as a student account (using an Australian edu email, verification is done by a third party) + using Chrome (allowed pop-ups, didn't block ads/phishing via Urban VPN).

    Worked as per OP instructions just now.. Pakistan family membership using urban vpn… done on windows machine, chrome browser.. no need to stop vpn on payment page.. paid with commbank mastercard.. confirmed working on s22 ultra without vpn connected to Pakistan.

    Thanks OP. My Turkey yearly sub finished yesterday and considering I binned the virtual card, etc, the monthly Pakistan sub worked. Chrome + Urban VPN through Pakistan + fake address as above and no issues.
