OzBargain YouTube Premium Status Summary ( Credit to Kyou mo Kawaii )

  • Subscribing to India, Turkey, Argentina will require a payment method from the corresponding country. (i.e. You need a credit card from India to sign up for the Indian Premium price). If you are pay these prices then wear your OzBargain badge with pride.
  • Countries like Ukraine, Pakistan, Egypt, Phillipines still work with an overseas payment method, but you will need an VPN to register for it.
  • From what I've heard from others, you pay more if you sign up via Apple. (No surprises there)
  • The cheapest individial YouTube Premium with the least hassle to sign up for is most likely Pakistan (PKR479/month ≈ A$2.63). I have tested this myself 2 weeks ago.
  • They will probably keep patching more countries later on until this loophole is gone, so enjoy whilst you can.

  1. Connect a VPN to a server in Pakistan (Free Urban VPN works both on PC/ Mobile)

  2. Go to https://www.youtube.com/premium and if it shows currency in Pakistan Rupees, continue choosing your membership.

  3. Enter your Pakistan address (get a fake one here and proceed to pay by credit card (it will redirect you to a secure payment vendor gateway (because our bank is in Australia), which will add several cents to your Youtube Premium cost).   2. Once cancelled, the current subscription will continue until the end of the billing period. But you now have an option to resubscribe back to Youtube Premium

Q: Will I get banned by Google?
A: There’s always a chance, however only a tiny number of people (<5) have actually gotten suspended by Google (see linked previous post in OP). Proceed at your own risk.

  • There is no need for aggression in instances where you are unable to subscribe. Share your experience so everyone can chip in and help out. There are plenty of examples where hacks shared on this platform do not work for some people, but may work for others:

        UPDATE: This morning I noticed Pakistan was there. It's like as though by default doesn't show up but as I left "Pakistan" in the search window, it all of a sudden appeared over time. Weird.

      Yes, just don't use your primary account. Best set-up a new Gmail account and use it for Subscriptions like these.

          YouTube Login = Yes, can be separate to primary gmail account. Just a matter of logging into it using new credentials.
          Payment = Depends what you mean by risky. As you are paying via Google, no reason it would not be secure but only you can decide that.

                I'd use an alternative payment account unless you trust that VPN.

    Help!

    I am transferring from Turkey and got this error!

    "We couldn't verify your country. Please see Help Center for more information."

    The "renew" tab still states TRY
    but the plans below say PKR.

    Premium expires in a few days, so if anyone knows the work around that would be highly appreciated.

      I had the same issue, changing countries worked for me. Personally I used Ukraine but I'm sure you could find a cheaper currency.

      I had the same issue with the UrbanVPN+Pakistan.
      Switched to UrbanVPN+Urkraine it worked! Not quite as cheap as Pakistan but still pretty good
      Also used firefox.

        Nevermind, I followed the comments advise below and disconnected before putting my payment details in and it worked. Pakistan however, doesn't seem to load at all. Only Ukraine worked for me.

    It is a bad day. My YT has expired, i have used it from Argentina then Turkey. I can't seem to get it working now, it keeps saying it can't reconigise my country. Has anyone had this issue and over came it?

    Things I have done:
    - tried different computer and phone
    - chrome, firefox and safari
    - tried Pakistan, ukraine and turkey
    - Deleted all cookies and cache
    - Even tried a new email and it did not work?

    Anyone got any tips. I can't handle ads

      You haven't noted at what point it is failing?
      What VPN were you using and did you make sure that it was actually connected to Pakistan via the likes of WhatisMyIP.

    Haivng issues with error OR_RECR_05

    I have followed the insuctions in the thread. But i must be doing something wong. My process:
    - vpn on firefox
    - ukraine
    - standard option

    I have tried each of the bellow:
    - add in card details press buy got error
    - add in card details then turn off vpn then press buy and got error
    - tried revolt and hsbc card
    - tried on mobile and desktop

    Been trying to follow this:

    turning vpn on>go to youtube premium site> enter card details page but DON'T 'save card'> disconnect vpn> now save card

    My issues is I think is the 'card details page'. Anyone know what this page is?

    Turkish yearly plan expired a couple of days ago.

    Tried following the instructions but Pakistan didn't work as I kept getting the unrecognised country message.

    As per the comments, tried Ukraine and all done in 2 minutes.

        You will have to create a new payment profile. I had the same issue. So, once I created a new payment profile and made that one activa (Pak) it worked. Just to be sure, it's not a new account but just a payment profile.

    Didn't bother trying Pakistan, worked first go using Ukraine for me.

    Used Chrome in incognito mode -> Connected UrbanVPN to Ukraine -> Opened Youtube Premium page and went through the ordering process, entered card info (ING) -> Disconnected VPN -> Clicked Buy and it worked (charged $3.97)

      Urban VPN (Installed on PC) does have Pakistan but doesn't show in list. Just search for Pakistan and hit connect. It connected fine even though not showing on list.

        finding the VPN server is not the issue.

        it's google detecting/blacklisting the country's vpn address that stops you from getting to the paid membership screen.

        You are prompted with the error "We couldn't verify your country".

        it may be a recent change they've done as a crackdown.

    Hey team, still working for me
    didn't have any failures but used this method just in case, which I found on the old Turkey thread

    (credits to @tobia and others)

    Did this on desktop (mac)
    1. Downloaded UrbanVPN (free)
    2. Logged into YouTube through private tab in Safari
    3. Go to https://www.youtube.com/premium
    4. Go add payment and entered my ING card. Used a random address generator to add a Pakistan billing address to the card
    5. BEFORE pressing Add Card, disconnect UrbanVPN connection
    6. Back to Safari and tap Add Card and it confirmed that it was successful.

    works with ios too afaik

    I have NordVPN but they don't have Pakistan as a connection

    Thanks OP. My Turkey sub got cut and expired today. Spent an hr trying Pakistan method out but got stuck at payment page when I cannot get the rupees version. Finally worked at the end. Firefox and urban vpn and Macquarie bank card worked for me. Hopefully this time I won't get cut again.

    Just got a reminder email that prices are almost doubling on next payment. Decided to finally get on with doing this. Couldn't get it to work on the PC with PIA, but managed to use PIA on my phone to connect to Egypt and purchased it through that. Had to grab an Egypt Address though, was fairly painless overall, now just remains to see how long this works.

    Still works. I was initially encountered with "We couldn't verify your country" message. Disconnect the VPN and go to the youtube premium page normally then connect the VPN again to proceed with renewal.

    • created a new google account, added other existing Australian accounts as family, then
    • get Pakistani premium family to share with Australian family members on mobile?

    My family mainly use YT on mobiles and recently cancelled Australian premium (had a 3 month trial and forgot to cancel before trial ended), so I'm hesitant to use my primary account.
