warning: went to local DSE in tuggeranong ACT and was told that they had no stock, nor did they have any stock to begin with. Apparently they have not had any stock for some months now.

I thought there was some law that prohibited retailers from advertising products that they either had little stock of or no stock at all.

    • I thought there was some law that prohibited retailers from advertising products that they either had little stock of or no stock at all.

      From http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/815335

There are also special laws relevant to price advertising and promotions. A business risks breaching the law if it:
advertises goods and services at a specific price when it is, or should have been aware, that it would not be able to supply enough of the good at the price for a reasonable amount of time. This is called bait advertising.

I would call the ACCC and let them know :)

    • Seems like there is no stock in Canberra..

      • Got the last 2 packs hanging off the shelf at Queanbeyan. As I was paying there was a huge pallet of random stuff being dropped off (~3pm). I asked the salesman why so large and he giggled and said its their Tuesday delivery, that they rarely get to see their delivery man (often more than a month) but when they do he drops off a huge pallet.

      • Um, just rang Belconnen DSE and they said they had 23 packs. Asked them to put them aside for pick up this afternoon. I guess I'll see when I get there if they really do have stock!

        • Asked them to put them aside for pick up this afternoon.

          All 23?

        • No, only three packs :)

wtf - i JUST bought a set of these on saturday from Dick Smith Adelaide - $39.99. what are the chances of going back for a store credit on price difference to then pick up another set? (that is, IF they have any sets available)

    • +1

yeah, take them back. as you'll be returning them, they will have at least 1 in stock :)

  • Heads up, there are no more at the dick smiths at East gardens.

they are also doing orders that should come in by next week

  • Dick Smiths Seven Hills.

No stock and never had any to begin with.

The bloke looked 'out the back' for me and came back with "yeah sorry mate we haven't had any for a while", I pointed to all the huge posters around the store and on the front window advertising them. He shrugged and said, yeah we might get some in in a few days…..maybe.

  • I just call roseland store. The guy said will restock 1-2 days with quantity 38.So its better to wait instead of travel to Greenacres

  • Is it really sold out or they don't actually have stock yet.

  • This is hopeless, went into the store in the morning and no stock.. pretty lame….

Meh, still waiting for AAA Eneloops sale

    • Cant say i have seen them on special before. Them AAA batteries are harder to find on special

  • How do these batteries fair up against Sanyo quick chargers?

    • You realise Sanyo manufacture these batteries?

  • Bought the last two from Booval store this arvo, the assistant said they may get some more in tomorrow.

  • +1

Ahhh…..the usual Ozbargainers in love with their glitter eneloops….me included; I already bought 4 packs already to date!
Friendly advice for those NOOBS on eneloops, do yourself a favour and invest in a decent charger like the Maha or Lacrosse, I was introduced to one and never looked back since, chuck out my old 'Dumb' chargers as it did no justice to the battery, it's like putting rubbish cheap oil in to your brand new BMW car!

  • I bought the last one from St Ives and it is a 5th Anniversary edition.

And now their site said St Ives Out of Stock instead of Low stock this morning. I didn't know their system is so accurate.

  • managed to get a raincheck at rivo after puttin down a $2 deposit

    cheers

    • Why put down a deposit for a raincheck?

  • Brisbane CBD got their shipment today, 8 of which are now in my possession. Godspeed, soldier.

    • 8 packets or 8 batteries? o.o'

Because 8 packets is a LOT of batteries..

      They ARE rechargeable?

Back in stock at a lot of stores.

  • Just in case someone is still looking for this, there are still quite a few in the Queanbeyan store, as I just grabbed 2 packs this morning.

  • Still in stock at DS Brisbane CBD as of yesterday 3:30pm - about 20 units left.

  • Stocks available at DS Roseland ,NSW.

  • One more left at North Sydney if anyone is interested. I was going to hoard all the stock but decided to leave it for you guys to share.

    • there are plenty in stock in north syd, near the counter

  • I got one of those rainchecks at Hornsby store - they called to say their stock has now arrived.

If your local is sold out, ask them for a no deposit raincheck.

  • More than 10 available at the Dick Smith Strand Arcade store in Melbourne CBD.

    • Only 2 packs left @ about 5.30pm

  • Heaps left Brisbane queen street

  • All stores on the Gold Coast now show as having stock.
    Time to spend some money…..

  • Just picked up some from camberwell. They look better in person lol.

  • More stores have it back in stock.

  • Just picked up 2 packs, there are still around 20 packs at Watergardens, VIC. The Dicksmith guy acted like he did not understand why people are in love with glitter eneloop, lol.

  • It's back in stock online.

    Great news!

The half price Eneloop Rechargeable Glitter 8 x AA battery pack will be back in stock online from tomorrow…but you can get your orders in now!

Don't miss out, offer ends 22/10/2012.

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/S4468/eneloop-rechargeable-g…

    • Yeah but backordered and ETA unavailable.

  • Available online again, seem to be in stock everywhere.

  • Yep, just ordered 2 for delivery without issues.

  • In stock online, but I just tried twice for home delivery, and after you submit CC details, the frame with the order info bounces back to the Dick Smith homepage, so you end up with a Dick Smith within a Dick Smith.

  • About 10 packs available at the Ashfield Mall store, NSW.

  • I typically only use N-MH rechargeables in my digital cameras and don't care about slow discharge rate because I use them frequently and charge up the batteries every week, so they never have a chance to discharge on their own accord. Are there any other benefits of the Eneloops that should pursuade me to try them over standard N-MH batteries?

I can buy four of these for the price of 1 eneleeop battery and they are rated at 3000Mah.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4-AA-3000mAh-Ni-MH-rechargeable-b…

    • +1

That's like comparing a Ferrari to a 1976 BMX bicycle.

I can guarantee the quoted 3000mAh rating is false and would be surprised if they're even over 1000mAh. Candlepowerforums.com have a guy who tests all batteries and some of these eBay ones came in around 600mAh for AA's.

Eneloops however are the best of the best. Even if you don't need the LSD feature.

      • Ok, You convinced me. Bought a packet!

  • I picked up a pack from Moonee Ponds DSE today and they still had at least 6 packs left.

  • +1

Just ordered 2 packs here. Works out to be a few dollars cheaper than Amazon during this deal. Wish more local places would do deals on AAA Eneloops though…

  • I ordered 2 packs (16 batteries) online as soon as they went back on sale. The parcel arrived today and seemed a little heavy. Openned it up and found 3 packs inside so I'm pretty happy.

  • Total noob with this stuff, but would an old Dick Smith charger, model gppb14, be suitable to charge these?

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
