I was going to post this deal, but you have won me by 1 sec…

    • +1

      :D

    • +10

Seems like you guys are quite 'charged up' for the deal :P

    • +8

I imagine that was quite a "shock".

    • Certainly an "electrifying" experience.

  • +17

Here we go again…probably be buying another set even though I don't really need it lol

  • +10

Argh, tempted to buy two packs just so the colours match

    • +3

      2 packs, don't you mean 4?

    • Haha I just bought 2 packs for the exact same reason. Don't know how on earth I'm going to use them all though. Finally got my hands on them!

  • +1

I need some… and glitter to boot. Thanks!

  • +1

What would be a cheap and good charger for these? Thanks!

    • +6

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/77318

Currently around $44.22 AUD shipped. You can get cheaper non-smart chargers, but this one will look after the batteries, they'll last a lot longer.

      • +3

        Thanks foobar.

    • Anyone had a look at Jaycar for smart chargers? This one is $50 for one, $45ea for 2, etc. looks ok to me, and oz plug and warranty. Model MB3551

      http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=MB3551

      • Id like to know about this charger as well, going down to dse now to get some eneloops but ive got a m8 who works @ jaycar & can hook me up a good deal.

      • On special at the moment? Coming up as $39.95 in red for 1.

  • +1

Thank you for posting this deal - been racking my brain over the last few weeks trying to find some cheap Eneloops or equivalent!

    • Turnigy from Hobby King..

      • Yeah I just did some digging around for AAA and found Hobby King as recommended by users on here.

  • -4

any decent budget charger to go with these batteries?

  • +1

Just saw this when I got home, was gonna post it.

    • +2

      You snooze you lose ;)

      • must've been sleep walking then.

  • Guys this is instore as well isn't it?

    • +1

As it's in the catalogue, it should be yes.

    • Yes.

  • +2

Good deal. Its a shame that DS never has sales on the AAA batteries.

    • Last month I was ultra lucky and spotted a pack of 2x AAA Enloops for $5 (RRP $9.95) at the Queanbeyan Dick Smith. The reason they were so cheap is because they were the previous generation Enloops which can be recharged only 1000x (instead of current generation of 1500x). I asked them to check if there were anymore in Canberra area but they said all cleared out. :(

Grrrrr. So many remote controls and so few AAA Enloop deals.

  • +3

    Is this better value?

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058N6JUE/ref=ox_sc_act_ti…

    It's $50 delivered to Aus.

    • +1

Depends what your needs are, if you want or need spacers, AAA's and a charger, then probably yes but if you have a charger and only want some flashy looking AA's then possibly not.

    • Does anyone know if this is a smart charger? I can't find any info on it.

  • hope with free shipping…

  • Thanks - submitted my click & collect already :) Will ask them to give me the advertised catalogue price when I collect tomorrow.

  • Also get 5% off if you pay with a WISH Gift Card

    • Hey thanks Matt the handyman. Wasn't aware of this. Will use the $20 gift card I got for the recent woolies simcard and recharge deal. Woohoo

      • The Handyman is referring to deals where you buy Woolies gift cards for 5% off, not a discount at the register per se.

  • Hope I can get my Everyday Orange card in time.

  • GODAMNIT! Bought some last week from the Shopping Square deal, decided to take the punt even after reading people's complaints about how long it takes for them to receive their batteries…this deal is much better, especially since we can pick them up ourselves…if only I waited for a week face palm

    • I know - I'm in the same wait a month or two boat - dammit!!!

      I did get AAA's too so I guess all wasn't wasted…

    • i bought off the same deal from SS 2 months ago - took a month to arrive. then bought some SD cards, arrived within a week. go figure.

  • +1

I hope my new ING card arrives. 5% off!!!

    • How do you get 5% off :s

      • You have to meet the following conditions:
        1. Use the Wave function when pay by the card
        2. Pay less than $100

        • Not sure if Dick Smiths HAVE the Wave function.

        • Queanbeyan Dick Smith doesn't.

  • +1

I bought 4 packs last time and I still haven't opened them yet.

    • +5

      Thanks for the exciting info.

      • Do you mean inciting?

    • At least you know they're still charged!

  • +2

    Argh it's like a weird addiction! Must… not… buy… (even more)

  • No stock in-store in Melbourne that I can see. Might order online, but is more expensive with shipping counted.

    • +4

No stock no worries… just ask for a raincheck

      http://dicksmith.com.au/help/RainchecksContent

If your local Dick Smith store has sold out of a currently advertised line, we will happily issue you a raincheck. This assures you of being able to buy the original item (or a comparable product) at the advertised price – even if the original promotion has ended. Naturally, rainchecks do not apply to items that have been advertised as ‘limited’, ‘discounted’ or ‘clearance’ lines, or where the terms and conditions explicitly exclude rainchecks.
Dick Smith does not offer rainchecks for products sold online.

  • OT but can anyone who has seen it (like OP) confirm if Fifa 13 for xbox 360 is still $69 in the new catalogue?

    • +1

Had a look through the catalogue but didn't see that advertised..

      • +1

        Thanks for checking

  • Im trying to justify buying them because I know they are good quality batteries but I can't think of anything I own that still uses replaceable batteries. My tv remote control use AAA and last like 2-3 years on elcheapos, xbox controller and camera all have battery packs. I guess good for people with kids that have a lot of toys or hipsters rocking an old school gameboy.

    • +1

      Only one remote control?

How about cordless phones, torches and the like? There are some really nice AA-battery torches out there, I have this one attached to my key ring. It's a little heavy because it's stainless steel, but it's a really nice torch:
      http://dx.com/p/trustfire-f25-cree-xp-e-r2-5-mode-280-lumen-…

    • +1

I have too many things that need AA's, 6 remotes, 3 torches….(to look for the remotes and the other torches i can never find :P) Wii controllers, cordless mouse/keyboard ugh…the list goes on!

    • Each of my cameras take 4xAAs each!

  • It's 9 oct, but the sale hasn't started yet.

    • Which dick smith store is open at 7:06 AEDT?

      • +1

        Their online store is.

  • +1

I bought 2 packets last time, I sold one to a friend and cant find the one I kept for myself..

    Might have to buy another.

  • Why can't I click & collect.
It isn't showing that as an option,, even though there is a green tick for Click & Collect on product page !

Not buying if thats not an option. Delivery is $4.95

    • You have to go to your shopping cart. From there, you will see two tabs near the top of the page - "Home delivery" and "Click and collect".

The design is a bit flawed..

      • The system does not always work… The dse staff admitted himself he never get those online collection.
Just make sure get a copy of the confirmation.(At lest you can ask for rain-check or something) or just call them and ask them to hold the item for you.

  • try Nunawading store. got mine from there.

  • +1

I already own two of these packs, both received with free shipping from previous deals, they work fantastic with my 580 EX II Flash on the camerea,

But I think I have enough batteries ;) Thanks OP for posting the deal! to bad DSE are charging the postage on these this time around

    • Got suckered in, and knew I would regret not getting more.. so I got more! Local pickup at springfield DSE! lady was shocked when they scanned for $19.95 lol

  • -1

Can you use just any old AA battery charger to recharge these?

    • -1

This question get asked every time Eneloops go on sale.

      • As long as they will charge NiMH 1.2V then you'll be fine.

    • You'll get more recharges out of them if you buy a more expensive charger. Cheap chargers tend to overcharge the batteries, reducing the capacity of the battery and reducing the battery's life.

If you have more than a few rechargeable batteries, or if you need maximum performance out of your batteries, a quality charger is a good investment. Maha and LaCrosse are good brands, prices start around $50 (from Amazon).

Just bought 2 packets and going to pick them up, the glitter touch to the batteries are beautiful. I'm holding back the tears with my manliness.

  • sold out, online!

  • Took the last one in store (Bankstown). Haha!

  • I'm curious to know what you all use these AA batteries for? Every time the word "Eneloops" comes up on Ozbargain, everyone is wetting their pants over them. I have a torch that takes AAs but that's it. What do you all use these for please?

    • +2

I know a few girls that go through lots of AA batteries…

      • Why aren't you helping them out?

      • +1

        c/know/got

    • +1

Remote controls, wireless keyboards, SLR speedlite flashes, to name a few. The flash alone takes 4, and you want to carry a spare set when you're out shooting.

      • Ah of course, flashes go through heaps. Thanks.

  • No stock. Some hoarders hoard all the batteries.

    • No stock no worries… just ask for a raincheck

I understand this is discounted stock.

        • Their catalogue doesn't say this is limited or subject to "no rainchecks".

Discounted is usually when its end of line or clearance, where its marked down in a store locally just to clear it.

  • I asked for a raincheck and the girl said they won't be getting more in so its not possible.

    I had no comeback.

    • I would ask for a raincheck anyway in the event they do get more stock, which they probably will.

  • Talk about limited stock…nothing in WA before the sale has even started according to dse.com…except in Kalgoorlie which is 600ks away…

  • Anyone know if it'll work with this charger?

    Dick Smith Ni-Cd/Ni-MH Charger
    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/S4099/dick-smith-ni-cd-ni-mh…

    • Yes, but it's really expensive for a non-smart charger. I bought a very similar one from Aldi for $6.99

      • Cool! I asked cause a friend of mine gave his to me. I finally can make some use out of it ;)

        Cheers!

        • +1

Just remember not to overcharge batteries in it. Smart charger is recommended for eneloops as it can manage charging time.

        • Cheers thanks for the heads up :)
